Cole is, to put it bluntly, a Psychopath. He has no remorse, no guilt, he cannot feel emotions...love, hate, happiness, but by the light he can mimic them. Cole has literally no care for those around him; he sees them as confusing creatures (no matter what race) and, on that note, has no need for possessions, seeing them as pointless things and trinkets. Cole will always be surprised when somebody shows interest in how he is, as a child, he was never asked how he was, he was told how he should be, and so it's new to him.

History

Cole was born to a Noble-blood father who was acting as a diplomat of sorts, Cole never paid attention long enough to figure out what his father actually did. Cole was the oldest of two, at the age of three his brother, Samiel (Or Sam) was born and as they grew, Sam would often do exactly as Cole said, giving Cole a feeling of immense power. It was obvious to Cole's parents he was a strange child, when other kids were happy with at least one toy, Cole just stared blankly into the distance or took toys from others only to drop it and wander off. Eventually, around the age of nine-ten his father, realising Cole had, as he put it “No feelings” began to teach his son, for the sake of his reputation, to “feel”. He taught Cole over the years both what emotions to use and when to use them, Cole knew as he grew his father was only doing it to protect himself.

Cole was always away from the wars of Azeroth, wars and battles, knights and villains; it was all pretty story book to Cole. His brother was fascinated by the concept of mercenaries, grizzled veterans of war fighting for gold and glory and would often run around pretending to be one (which annoyed Cole, who usually got the role of “Villain”...slightly ironic now that he thinks about it). Cole and his brother were both given self defence training; their parents hoped it would protect them when they inevitably take over the family reigns. His brother was thrilled at the training but Cole, who was a superior fighter to his brother already (being older and somewhat stronger) grew bored quickly. At the age of nineteen Cole met a young woman (Cole usually changes the name when he refers to the “girl” but the most common used is Gina) who fell in love with him, or at least it seemed that way, Cole couldn't tell.

She taught Cole about the other side, said there was a paradise after death, which Cole still thinks is make believe. After a year, she gave Cole a ring, a ring he still has today, on it were the engraved words “Death is not the End”. Despite Cole not being able to feel anything for Gina, he wished he could, however terror and disaster struck when Gina was found dead in a lake not far from his family's estate. It appears as if she fell into the lake and hit her head on a rock or something along those lines. Cole was eventually allowed to see her grave, and asked it, pointlessly, if it was the end.

Cole moved away from his family and into Stormwind at the age of twenty five. He fell in with a bad crowd a short time after, spending most of his time in Old Town and learning the dark side of the world. Now Cole understood one thing quickly, money makes the world go by, he didn't know why...why a circle piece of metal was so valuable, but he knew he needed a lot of it. Cole, always being told he had a way with words, had little trouble gaining a few allies, he used them to do a few breaking and entering jobs and other minor crimes for Cole knew that if they get caught, it won't be him in the stockades. He took his share each time, and it went on from there. Twenty nine years of age, Cole left Stormwind, travelled back to his old home to visit his dying father, the word had spread and both he and Sam met once more. Sam was different, somewhat darker and much stronger looking then Cole, he wore armour, where as Cole had bought more elegant clothing. The two stared each other down and said their goodbyes to their father...the next day he passed away, leaving the two staring at each other from across a long table. You see their mother had died during Cole's absence, the money and assets their father had would have to be split up, but Cole wanted it all...and Sam...The same.

Imagine the tension, the irony that the brother Cole grew up ordering around was now staring at him with a deathly eye, his father was a valuable man after all, who'd want to lose that much?. Sam told his brother to go back to Stormwind, they'll divide it and all will go smoothly, Cole did as he was asked but stopped, walking off the road half way and into the wild forest around him...he knew Sam was following him. Later Cole, beaten and bruised, emerged...a day later selling off everything his father kept secret in books, his assets and hoarding all of the gold he made and gained...and using it all to buy himself a suit, a sword...and enough favours to keep himself alive in a dark world he was looking to own.
