History

Chives' father - with his pregnant wife - decided they wanted to see more than Dun Morogh and had always fancied the idea of starting up a farm. They had heard good things about the domain of Stormwind, and so they journied to Westfall. After settling down on a patch of land to call their own, Chives was born. Most of his childhood consisted of working as a farm hand to his father. At the age of 20 the farm was given to him by his father. Chives' father had the misfortunes of crossing paths with a scouting Gnoll. The beast was none too happy about being the shortest of the two, and had fatally cut its unarmed competition down to size. Chives had no idea a Gnoll was responsible for his father's death: he grieved for some time before pulling himself together with the help of his mother..

A couple more years passed with simple farm work such as planting seeds, gathering crops and so forth. He only had a few chickens as far as farm animals went - but it was enough to sustain the remaining family.

At the age of 24, Chives' farm was attacked by the defias bandits known well within Westfall. The reason they did not attacked sooner was because of the agreement Chives' father had made with them way back when. This ‘pact' stated that at the end of each month Chives' father would give them a portion of whatever they grew.

After that agreement expired they did not hesitate to attack: they killed Chives' mother, destroyed the farm, killed the chickens and took Chives hostage. There they tortured him for a few weeks: cutting and lashing him - and going to the extremity of cutting out his tongue so he could not yell or let off their location. After those few weeks they dumped him in the middle of nowhere - in a different land. The defias had some ‘tasks' to do there so taking the captive along was a no-brainer until they could dispose of him.

Chives walked around the land that was unknown to him for what had felt like days before he found a camp of Alliance solders. He greeted them with a hand in his torn clothing then passed out in front of them. The solders treated his wounds and for the time they stayed in that land, they taught Chives how to fight.

This would be where Chives would learn to communicate with pen and paper - and also discover that he was in Western Plaguelands: a land that lived up to its name. He would later leave with a few weapons, survival supplies and maps the soldiers had supplied him with. Journeying out to find a piece of land to rebuild a small farm and live on.
