Other: Cathera may not be as good at hiding her use of Fel magic than other Warlocks because she has spent much time recently in The Catacombs, where she is accepted as an open Warlock. Obviously Cat hides this when she travels to the surface, but those trips have steadily dropped in frequency.

Appearance

Usual Garments/Armor: Cathera usually wears white or other brightly colored robes. She'll sometimes switch to "her kind's" usual dark clothing, but only when it is a necessity.

Personality

Quirky, for someone who practices Fel magic and studies demons. Though she can seem quite evil and twisted at times, Cathera can seem friendly and perhaps even flirty to a lot of people, at least at first. Despite being heavily involved in occult projects and destructive Fel magic, and living in a dank underground cavern with other nefarious folk, Cat still clings to material comforts and other such things that normal civilians enjoy as much as she can. She even looks like a civilian, or a priestess, or a mage depending on her choice of clothing.

History

The city of Stormwind and the surrounding Human territory had only just been destroyed and overrun with savage Orcs when Cathera Lutter was brought into Azeroth by her father, a struggling novice mage-alchemist, and her mother, a hard-working barmaid and waitress who was now working to help rebuild the tavern she used to work at. From a young age, the Human girl had to work to rebuild the shattered world of the southernmost kingdom. When Cathera was around three or four years old, her father was killed in an accident. Some failed experiment with either Arcane magic or dangerous chemicals had simply exploded, and the poor man was gone like that. The girl's mother started drinking heavily after the incident, believing that her husband's affinity for such experiments was her own fault for encouraging his strange and usually hopeless pursuits.

Growing up in a shattered kingdom with a shattered family was tough on Cathera, and as a result the girl soon found her way onto the slippery slope of Stormwind's seedy world of sex, drugs, and crime. It began with petty theft as a young teenager, and grew to serious drug addictions and a general loose, careless life style. During this downhill period- much of which is a blur to Cathera- her mother died from alcohol poisoning.

Fortunately, Cathera finally managed to recover from her destructive habits after her mother's death, and she found new outlets for her energy: Magic and knowledge. Cat was far more talented at mastering Arcane power than her late father, and her newfound appetite for books and learning was astonishing to most of the people who knew her.

Despite the new stability and normalcy of Cat's life, she still could not break her connections with the less savory sector of Stormwind society, and the young mage swiftly found her way into the study of Fel magic and demonic powers. Cathera's passion for learning only increased the speed of her transformation from Mage to Warlock. Shadow and Fel became Cathera's life, and she became almost obsessed with finding a place where she would be accepted as a warlock and not have to hide what she was every second of every day. Since then, Cat has been going to and from various cults and covens, searching for safe places to study and become more powerful.
