Personality

Brynjolf is a cheerful Dwarf, but with a twist. He is humorous but his jokes can be dark. Brynjolf is loyal to his people and King Bronzebeard, and is a true Dwarf. His absence from his clan has left him abit distanced from his own though, but he makes sure to visit Ironforge when he feels like it.

He is not quick to anger, preferring to study all sides of the matter before jumping into anything. He has a knack for tactics and has become quite skilled with that axe of his. He views life as a constant game of sorts. If you play it right, and look out for your own pieces you will do fine.

Brynjolf doesn't hate anything. He dislikes Undead and does not want to deal much with Horde, but he isn't a zealot. Sure, he'll chop some beasties into bits if he's paid or if they did something wrong, but attacking an Orc or a Tauren without reason.. No.

Now this all would describe him as a pretty neutral Dwarf. But he does have one driving goal in life. Learning all there is to know about his origins and the Titans. He, like so many others, strive to find the secrets of their creation and hopefully discover their place in the world.

Not a believer in the Light, he puts his faith in the Creators, and many times can be heard muttering oaths like: “Khaz's beard..” or “By the Creators..”

History

Brynjolf was born a few years before the War of the Three Hammers. His clan, the Stonebeards, were a part of the Bronzebeard Dwarves and so, his father fought in the war.

Wether by luck or fate, Brynjar Stonebeard survived to raise his son. The Stonebeards were a fighting clan, teaching tactics and combat. Brynjolf was trained in combat and militaristic tactics, and at night he was told stories of his ancestors and the greatness of the earliest days. The days were Dwarves were the Creators' chosen.

He found work as a blacksmith's apprentice in Ironforge, crafting armor and weapons. But soon, he found this life bored him. He had been trained to fight, and he knew so much about the past. So he set out, in armor he crafted for himself with an axe strapped to his back.

He traveled Khaz Modan, fighting wildlife and earning a few coins by doing odd jobs here and there. He found that he liked the open road, sleeping on the ground, hunting for food. This was the life for him.

He met up with other Dwarven travelers. These Dwarves were ‘explorers' they said. A special profession, they said. To find the secrets the Titan's left behind. Now this was something for Brynjolf. He traveled with these explorers, joining digs and scavenging for rare finds.

His interest in finding the old secrets was sparked. But his research could not go on forever. The Orcs attacked Khaz Modan. He, as so many others fought in tiny bands all over the Dwarven lands.

He was not in any great battles, a few skirmishes to keep himself alive. The orcs were beaten and he found himself in peace again. This time, even Khaz Modan was to small for the ambitious Dwarf. He had lived more than a century, discovered artifacts, scavenged tombs and old sites. He had fought orcs, lived on the road and earned his place in the clan with many stories to tell. Now he wanted to discover the world, with all it's finds and secrets of the past.

He traveled into Lordaeron, met his Wildhammer cousins, and Humans whom he befriended. He earned money as a mercenary, fighting bandits and the like. The South was next, Stranglethorn Vale and Booty Bay. For a few years he explored, fought and learned.

He was experienced in life, combat and history. He had friends in most towns in the Eastern Kingdoms. Then the Scourge hit. He was staying in one of the settlements in Lordaeron when the undead attacked the Human lands. Now he had to fight for his life.

Fleeing from town to town, witnessing unspeakable horrors and hacking away at the undead for dear life, he somehow survived. He got out of Lordaeron , seeking refuge in Stormwind.

Recovering there, he decided he would not forget what he had seen. The undead comitted such horrible acts that he would not leave it. It was through this decision that he met Brutus Von'Dragos. He was stalking through Duskwood, hacking down the shambling skeletons when a flash of light appeared, killing the rotting beast.

From that moment, the two ‘Undead Hunters' traveled together. Fighting undeath and corruption with cold steel and a bit of Light. Brynjolf cared for the young human, but was unnerved by the Paladin's hatred and zeal. But they worked well together. Brynjolf eased Brutus' fervor somewhat, while the Human showed Brynjolf how believing in your work can do wonders.

They were seperated however. And today, Brynjolf has decided that his years of Undead Hunting are over, he wants to return to being just a normal Dwarf. Earning keep as a mercenary and maybe go off for some more exploring.
