Personality

Alignment: Lawful Good

Ben is a rarity of the people of Azeroth. He is kind, humble, and as selfless as he can be. He tends to put everyone in front of himself, looking to make sure everyone is confident in their own abilities. He the one that would not celebrate victory by 'rubbing it in the face of his foes'. He would rather, actually, encourage his foes of their abilities even if it were a loss. However, these feelings can change when circumstances around them do as well - for example, around undead, demons, and zealots. He has a passionate hate for zealots, because he knows the crimes they've committed first hand, and so he has a personal and unique hate for them. As for undead and demons, he merely feels they are mindless husks controlled by some evil master that wants to use them for evil deeds. He does not consider himself a hero, even if he ends up doing heroic deeds once and a while. In fact, he would rather consider himself nothing more than another footman for the Crusade that always happens into unfortunate or strange circumstances.

History

Leonard Bennard Bennin the Second was born a bastard child by Lord Leonard Bennard Bennin the First of Alterac and one of the noble lord's maids. When the Lord Leonard found out about Ben's birth, he and his mother were thrown out of the Lord's estate, where Ben's mother then struggled to keep them both alive in the cold streets of Alterac City. When Ben was barely five years old, he encountered a child being beaten up in the alleys of a part of the slums of the city. After bravely trying to take the three bullies on at once, he received a black eye and was left on the side of the street. He woke to find the kid who had been bullied had taken him to his mother's makeshift home. The boy's name was Dukenson, and he was an orphan from Gilneas. While Ben originally found Dukenson's name strange himself, he did not bother with it, as it seemed like something that was inquired about every day.

The two friends soon became close, and were like brothers save for their different homelands. When Ben and Dukenson were sixteen, Ben's mother caught a deathly cold and passed away quickly afterwards. Dukenson proposed becoming a trader, and went to become the apprentice of a local blacksmith while Ben was left blankly staring at the steps of the Army's command center, the last time he had ever seen Dukenson. He entered and signed into the Alterac Army, and was handed blade and shield in 'preparation' of the upcoming orcish invasion. It was not long into the war that Ben was thrust into strange happenings; the nobles of Alterac had declared the kingdom as an ally of the Horde, just to save their own asses. While Ben seemed doomed to serve and die a traitor's death, one day he was approached by the commanding officer of another battalion. The officer had noticed his silent dissent towards Alterac's alliance with the Horde, and invited him to join a small group of Alterac's generals and soldiers, the Alterac Dissidents, in their covert rebellion against the corrupt nobles. Ben took the offer as he saw it as the only way to survive the war, and was accepted into the Dissidents. Alongside many comrades he covertly sabotaged some operations of the kingdom from the inside to aid the Alliance of Lordaeron.

When the Second War ended, and Alterac's fate was being decided, Ben joined the Dissidents in their surrender and re-acception into the Alliance. Ben saw himself as lucky, as any remnants of the kingdom's formal military were either slain on sight or deserted to become part of a 'Syndicate'. But he had no more banner to serve. The Dissidents spread out to take on new lives, and Ben was left alone in a ruined city watched over by a major Alliance presence. Ben went to the dusty manor that was once owned by his father and in it he found a set of armor and a rapier. Wearing the armor as a promise to his legacy, he set out into the world to see what his fortune would bring. Among his travels, he found himself gathering news from various places, avoiding great battles and wars. The Scourge's assault of Lordaeron left him with no true sorrow, though he did silently pray for the dead.

In his travels, he traveled down the roads to the reclaimed Hearthglen where he met the zealot by the name of Cassius Palenix, who was the co-leader of a group of zealots, the Alta Trinita. He was armed and armored in better garbs, picking a halberd as his weapon now. Ben felt he had found his purpose in life in the Trinita. He would serve the Light as its will-bringer. He felt his place in the world was being a zealot, and so he followed the Trinita in several zealous raids on innocent people.

One such innocent person was the next target; Cassius had ordered them to ambush a miss Annabelle Greene for consorting with undead and defying the Light's very commands. Ben was among those chosen to ambush her and take her, unconscious, to the Trinita's chapter house. They mercilessly interrogated and slew her, and initially Ben saw no wrong in what he did. He was then patrolling the area around their chapter house one night, and stumbled into the room of a dusty old manor's high tower. A necromancer he had previously tried and failed to kill, Tressian, was waiting for him, and spoke to the misguided Ben about his actions. It was after this night that Ben severely regretted what they had done, and felt ashamed for it.

It was not long after this that Ben found himself lost again; Sir Palenix had been slain, and the Trinita with him. Ben was the last of the Trinita as far as anyone was concerned. He sought to redeem their name, but found that difficult. He would have to abandon the cause. He officially disbanded the Trinita on his own, and met with the resurrected Annabelle Greene - then Annabelle Bronco. She forgave him for his crimes, and told him to sign on to the Argent Crusade. Initially hesitant as he thought the Crusade would judge him greatly for his actions, he eventually gathered his wit and was recruited at Hearthglen.

Garbed in the armor of an Argent Crusader, and armed with a halberd made of strong steel, Ben was given an assignment to sail to Theramore and investigate the strange occurrences of the swamp, highlighting the issues with undead and hauntings in the deeper parts of the Marsh. He embraced this assignment immediately, and began his journey to the Marsh, where he now does his assignment with great loyalty to the Crusade.
