Personality
Barbie is a history nut. She is knowledgeable in many subjects and can give off that...'I know what I am talking about' sort of attitude. She does, sometimes, act as if she is better than others, when she does not mean to. Unintentional superiority complex for the loss. But, this does not mean she can't go out and have a good laugh with her comrades.
History
Barbara was born to a miner and historian in Kharanos, Dun Morogh. From a young age, she was always curious about the past of her race, what they were about, and why they were the way the were; this was something her parents valued and encouraged as she grew up. This is not to say she spent her face mostly in books; she was like most of the other Dwarves and enjoyed playing in the snow, wrestling, and helping brew ales.
As she grew in age, her love of history expanded. Titans, old-gods, Night Elves, trolls; their fascinating evolution made her want to go off and learn more. But, in order to become an archaeologist, she needed to learn the skills of tracking, mapping, digging and noting her finds; something she could not learn on her own, but needed to learn from someone else.
She eventually found a woman who was interested in having an apprentice and studied under her for about five years before becoming an actual member. There, she worked up from doing manual labor, to note taking, then to actually digging...then to mapping; each of the jobs exciting as the last. In doing this job, she was able to explore reaches of Azeroth only people could dream about. Troll ruins in Stranglethorn, Night Elf ruins in Azshara, Dwarven finds within Arathi Basin, she was lucky enough to visit and learn from them all.
Eventually, her boss died and she was assigned her job. She was able to pick the finds, who was able to come and what their jobs were. She was excited with this new position but even more excited when the opportunity to excavate within the Outlands. She has since visited twice and cannot wait to explore more of the region.
