"We have worked hard. We have toiled, and nearly drowned in our own blood, sweat and tears, to reclaim a day that made us lose a city.
A city who's walls we have not gazed upon fondly in years."

Personality

Babbakin's personality is two-sided. At first glance, she seems like any typical, spunky, peppy Gnome. Almost adorable, to an extent. This, however, is merely a ruse to her true personality. When she feels threatened or angered, that sweet, saccharin voice becomes grittier, language coarser. Her personality overall reverts to one of violence and cynicism. It is unclear whether this "split personality" is to hide insecurities, or simply because she enjoys threatening people to get what she wants. Nevertheless, she has a definite love for inventing, particularly vehicles and other such modes of transportation, and this fancy carries through whether she's being sunny or sinister.

More recently, her work on the front lines of the reclamation for Gnomeregan have seemed to level her head a bit. She still has that fiery temper, but her peppiness is kept to a minimum. The ruthlessness of battle is notorious for stripping away innocence and "making men out of boys." The wee warrior is no exception and her cold, almost unphased attitude on the battlefield is no doubt proof of that hardening. Still, she retains a sort of maternal air for those she cares about, her comrades and her race in general.

History

Before the evacuation of Gnomeregan, Babbakin Otzkindle McMuttlebolt worked alongside her father for much of her young life, repairing mechanostriders. The works of the Gnomes that were used as transportation fascinated her, and in her spare time she toiled away with ideas for new vehicles. When peace was not meant to last in the city she'd been born and raised in, it was only Babbakin and her mother who managed to survive. Her father, her inventions and a large part of her life were lost to the destruction from both the bombs and the Troggs.

For many months, Babbakin was inconsolable. She rarely slept or ate, and the city of Ironforge was unfamiliar to her -- welcoming though it was. She had been a mere tinker and repair Gnome when she was in the city, and days of contemplation lead her to believe that such an occupation would not do enough good. She knew, however, that she was strong, and it was this physical strength that pulled her out of her slump and gave her the courage to begin her training as a warrior.

Years passed, each day of training a grueling and hardening experience. Alongside Gnomes and Dwarves alike, she learned how to swing a blade, how to parry and dodge and deliver a finishing blow. She learned how to hone her physical strength, in turn strengthening her mind.

Though she continues with her training as a fighter, Babs still does work on her inventions, and repairing mechanostriders for people is still a past-time that gives her some form of comfort. She is a Gnome who longs to stay true to her heritage, and awaits the day when she can aid in restoring her beloved city, so that she may once again be able to go home.

In her more recent past, Babbakin's travels had found her as a member of the Delta Squad of the Gnomish Special Forces. Her role in the Forces required her constant assistance as a fighter, and the little Gnome was relentless in her determination to aid in the reclamation of Gnomeregan. She became quite close to those who's sides she'd battled by and a particular fondness soon grew for the GSF's leader, Shant Spinpistol. The two soon became nigh inseparable, although how they put up with each other's bickering and constant jeers was anyone's guess.
