Personality

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

There was once a elf named Aydendril with a charming smile and a way with words to make knees buckle or palms hit foreheads. An elf who could burst into laughter at the smallest nuance of a person's behavior and who could fall in love at the drop of a hat. A powerful shadowcaster who could bring men twice his size to their knees in agony and fear. A deathdealer in defense of his family, and a warlock with a penchant for candy-flavored healthstones when certain fledglings had headaches.

That elf is missing, lost in the seas of his own mind. Perhaps he will return someday, but only time will tell.

Little remnants of him remain, in the gentle twitch of his mouth when he hears a familiar voice, or in the power of his stare, but this husk is just that. A husk of the elf he once was.

History

Aydendril was the child of two priests out of wedlock, a romance of duty that lasted not twenty years of their long lives. He was raised by his mother and his mother alone, while his father worked to cover his son's identity from the world. He grew to despise his father, the epitome of deadbeat dads. On Rinvella's minimal salary, money was tight for the single mother. Ayden was forced to work from an early age, learning what he could from the mage who employed him. It would be many decades before he left home.

He brought nothing but the robes on his body when he left, leaving his mother his entire life savings and a note that read simply "Don't worry." Something he knew she could never abide by. He traveled deep into the blackened wood, seeking his fathers home to tell him precisely what he thought of him. Along the simple cobbled road through the burnt trees, he heard the sounds of what he would later learn was the scourge war machine.

After days in hiding, holed up in the back of cave, eating only conjured food and warmed only by arcane fire, the hunger struck him. It wracked his mind like a kick to the skull. He ran to the nearest enclave and discovered the curiously strong euphoria of fel energy. It would not be long before he fell into the darkest arts of magic in a downward spiral of addiction.

When Arilyn, an Ex-Farstrider found him, he had been badly beaten by a few thugs who stripped what little money and pride he had left and tossed him into a Silvermoon gutter. She nursed him back to health and before long, she had him back onto his feet. He came to know her as a second mother, and eventually, his only mother. Time passed, and they met a Death Knight who Ayden would later hire as a bodyguard, forming the beginnings of Mercy, a small band of mercenary adventurers who treated eachother as family.

Two disappearances and a love triangle later, Aydendril and Mercy parted ways for some time. When he returned, he returned an entirely different elf, with a curious scar on his chest from what appeared to be a spider.

Skills and Abilities

Shadowmage
While still a full-fledged warlock before his injury, he rarely takes advantage of his demons. His shadowcasting is greatly empowered when surrounded by physical shadows, and he can move more freely and quickly through them, even slowly teleporting from shadow to shadow. (Limit: Thirty yards at a time, has almost an IC minute of cast time.)
Slurred Casting
Aydendril's injuries have slowed his casting to a crawl, however, he can create simple spells with exceptional force, and complex spells with much precision. On the same token, however, it can take him anywhere from three to ten minutes to cast a spell that someone with more motor control could cast instantly. As he was born a sorcerer, he can quicken his casting if he is emotionally invested in the situation, but those times are rare as his injury has worked to dull his emotional response.
Physical Depression
Aydendril is, for the most part, trapped within his mind. His ability to speak is heavily effected by his injuries, which has slowly developed into a sort of introvert complex. With his mind as his only stomping ground, he has worked to sharpen his wit and empower his intelligence. He will read any material he can lift or get his eyes on and at a remarkable speed. His mental defenses are pristine, making him extremely resistant to psychic attacks and illusions.
Curse of the Endless Prison
On touch, this curse will make the target blind, deaf, numb and mute. It lasts until the grasp is broken. No other spells may be cast while this curse is active, and it affects both the caster and the target.
