Washteyakee (Spirit Mist) is another young pet, and somewhat small, but growing fast. He obtained his egg from a goblin trader, and the bird imprinted on him.

Appearance

Awak wears whatever his budget permits him at the time. If he is starved for food, he will sell his armour to obtain it, and eventually begin to buy pieces back, or have new ones smelted. In a good time for business, his armour will steadily increase in quality.

Personality

Awak is, in almost every sense of the word, bipolar. He can be sitting in an inn, having a laugh with someone, and at the flip of a coin, become extremely hostile. If one was to look deeper into this, they would find that his mood greatly reflects on what race he is speaking to. He has a very distinct perception of each race he comes across often, and seldom changes his mind about them. This inner conflict has cause him to not be very popular amongst most others in a social surrounding, but others tolerate him. Aside from this however, Awak generally likes to talk with adventurers in taverns, and swap stories as is custom to Tauren.

History

Awak was born on one of the three Mesas of Darkcloud Pinnacle, to a mother and father who both partook in the hunt. As such, it is not a stretch to believe that Awak fell into the groove of hunting relatively easily as he grew. A favorite pass time of his as a child, was to climb onto a high ledge, and see if he could pin down both claws, and the tail of a scorpid. He seldom succeeded, but it was good practice. This also eventually lead to a numbing of his care of pain to animals, and soon after, other humanoid beings. His parents encouraged this behavior, as it showed that he was going to become a fearless warrior of the Grimtotem.

However, Awak grew rather tired of the day in, day out hunting, the only threat the occasional adventuring party set to kill off his people. Years drug by, and his parents died of old age, leaving him nothing, but rather his older brother everything they had. Realizing he had no true hold in Darkcloud any more, and set off to the new city being founded by the tauren to the north. He was greeted with an obvious distaste by the other tribes, which greeted him grudgingly, as well as the few other Grimtotem in Thunderbluff. Soon after, the Elder Crone moved to Thunderbluff, as well as a large amount of Grimtotem. It was through these people that he found out about the new secretive alliance between themselves and the Forsaken.

Having been seldom influenced by the rather sparse teachings from the elders, Awak saw no problem with this, and once he got over the smell, began to appreciate what the Forsaken could bring to the table. When he started to sell himself out as a mercenary, it was this mentality that drew him toward the undead Desmuth. After several escapades with Desmund, Awak began to work almost solely with undead, realizing that they were almost equal to tauren in battle prowess. Eventually this lead to working with only Desmund, unless the job called for additional force.

The two soon left Mulgore, to head out for more challenging (and better paying) ventures. Their luck has fluctuated quite a bit, some of the time living like nobility (usually after a big job), and then spending their chunk of change within weeks, and plummeting back into poverty.

Awak didn't have an income at the time he went to Thunderbluff, being the hunter that he was and leaving his home behind. So, the easiest way to make money with the skills that he had (tracking, killing, etc.) would be to use them. Originally he was only helping Tauren in Thunderbluff, or the occasional forsaken.

As soon as they moved on to bigger and better things, Desmund was the one finding the jobs. Whether they were killing for a Tauren, or for a troll, there was little difference for Awak. He just went out and killed it. He really has zero interaction with the person hiring the two, except for maybe a glance.

And then, even if he does see them, they're in essence his boss for the moment. Anyone not a Tauren or Forsaken, who -isn't- requiring work, is just another lesser race taking up space. Awak would have no qualms over killing them, to say the least.
