Other: Some favored pass times are swimming, gardening (without the help of his powers), hiking, whittling, and of course animal watching in the wilderness. His favorite animal has been the stag, and still is to this day, even after thousands of years wandering Kalimdor in the dream.

Personality

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Since coming in contact with the Nightmare and losing most of his Druidic power, Ashteran's personality has changed quite a bit. The once slow response time, and philosophical take on anything and everything he once had has melted away. Constant contact with brash sentinels, instead of squirrels and blue jays in the dream has caused his tongue to be a bit more sharp, and his actions to become more 'spur of the moment'. Where he was nearly a vegan before, the Elf's taste for meat has become much more prevalent.

History

Ashteran was born several hundred years before the Long Vigil, his birth falling just after the start of a long stretch of peace, and a long stretch of war and chaos. His childhood was a simple one, if a bit confused. His mother and father were still growing accustomed to the new sundered world, one which Ashteran would seldom see as it would be.

His childhood dragged on with little of importance happening, eventually becoming an adult. He was without a mate once the Long Vigil took place, but his parents were heart broken... having been together through all of the catastrophic events of the sundering, and the many other events prior to it, to be separated for stuch a long stretch was something not many humans could handle.

So, father and son went deep into the Barrow Dens, sleeping by one another in one of the larger barrow dens. The two grew a close bond in the dream, and it was through this close bond that Ashteran met one of his father's closest allies; Malithran.

Malithran was one of a group few have heard of, much less met, but after thousands of years of bonding, Ashteran was revealed a sect of druids known as ‘The Druids of the Wild,' a rare group during this period in his life. Ashteran began to train under Malithran as a druid of the wild, but never got to the point of being able to move into multiple forms. Through an unsettling turn of events, part way through his training Malithran's barrow den was assaulted by a group of invading Satyr, the elder elf's body on the normal plane being torn into pieces, Ashteran's training as a druid of the wild being cut short.

His bond with the few other druids of the wild was not close enough to the point that they would tutor him, and before he could grow closer to any of them they parted ways through the vast dream, never to be seen again by Ashteran. After many years of searching for another druid of the wild, he gave up on the thought of finding a trainer, and began to slowly train himself but to no avail. He left the path of the Wild, and took up the mantle of the claw. He easily found a mentor to teach him the ways of the bear twins Ursol and Ursoc, but he still had the creeping urge to seek out a member of the Wild sect.

He set out through the dream, perfecting his bear form, but forever searching for a druid of the wild willing to teach him. He followed as many leads as he could, and just before he thought he might be getting somewhere he was called back to the realm of mortals.

He fought against the raging Warsong, but had to fall back along with his mother and father. In the middle of the retreat however, an orc charged forward and cleaved through his father's hind legs while he was in bear form. Ashteran and his mother didn't see until it was too late, the orc's axe coming down from above his head and onto Ashteran's father's neck. Ash let out a harsh roar, but couldn't move forward to attack the orc, more of the greenskins running forward at him. He used his extra speed as an animal to rush into the forest. Through the third war Ashteran fought alongside his night elf brothers and sisters in the name of his deceased father, up until the Battle of Mount Hyjal.

The elf witnessed as Archimonde approached Nordrassil, and soon after, as the tree released it's energy to tear the demon asunder and push the legion back into the nether. The blow to his immortality shook him, and was immediately struck down by sickness after sickness, his thousands of years of immunity to sickness giving him no resistance to the viruses of the mortal world.

For a span of time he returned to Moonglade under the care of the other druids there, before finally moving back into Ashenvale. He fought against the occasional Warsong scouting group, but for the most part kept to himself until recently, his hopes for finding a trainer in the path of the Wild heightening as the previous social barriers were lifted.

Recently he has come in contact with Ylvandre, the traveling night elf woman who has convinced him to leave Night Elven lands for the first time in his life, also bringing with her a slew of trouble concerning warlocks, dragons, and shadow users...

He took a brake from this however, to consult allies in the Emerald Dream. Whilst in his slumber however, he came in contact with a Corrupted One, severely depleting his abilities in druidic magic. It was this reason that he could no longer cast his advanced spells, depleted to simple things such as soothing animals, healing minor wounds, and the like. So, he took the bow and arrow, cloak and dagger; The way of the Sentinel.
