Personality

While Apokryfes holds a vast amount of knowledge, his mind is not what it used to be. He easily forgets simple things and his vision and hearing have grown dull. He has an old man's sense of humor.

History

Apokryfes was born on Argus thousands of years ago. As a young Draenei, he would often pretend to live in a fantasy world where magic ruled. Living in a small village, he decided to run away to Mac'Aree in order to learn about magic.

Apokryfes travelled alone for many years. The journey itself taught him much about magic. As he moved from town to town, various people gave him advice on the ways of of the mage. Some of the advice was useful. Apokryfes set a path before himself to travel to every town of magical reputation and rumor on his way to Mac'Aree.

Two-hundred and twenty two years later, Apokryfes arrived at Mac'Aree, expecting to seek out the magical sector. To his surprise, magic was everywhere. It shimmered in the water and even in the air. The streets glistened with precious minerals. Apokryfes sought out another mage of the city and quickly found one. Believing that he had acquired a decent knowledge of magic, Apokryfes challenged the strange mage to a contest of magic. Apokryfes was quickly humbled, and became the mage's apprentice.

Eventually, Apokryfes rose to become a prominent magician of Mac'Aree. For several thousand years, he studied and instructed. As his fame and power rose, so did his work. He found it difficult to maintain a solid study of magic while constantly passing instruction and working on magical issues. Apokryfes stepped down from teaching in order to pursue study in the old arts of the ancient Eredar before him.

As Apokryfes became famous as a magician, Velen rose to become a prominent figure and leader of the Eredar people alongside Archimonde and Kil'jaedin. Apokryfes dreamed of coming to serve directly under Velen. However, it was not long after that the Burning Legion arrived at the marvelous planet of Argus. When given the choice, Apokryfes did not hesitate to follow Velen with the Na'aru and the small Draenei contengent that left the planet.

They travelled for many years, searching for a new home with the Burning Legion hot on their tails. They finally arrived at a peaceful world, the Exile's Refuge. The Draenei spread out and multiplied. For tens of thousands of years, a magnificent society emerged. Apokryfes became the de facto leader of a particular Draenei tribe, due to his age, wisdom, and fame. His actual duties were few.

Apokryfes' tribe traded frequently with the orcs and had a decent relationship with them. However, it was inevitable that the world would be found by the Burning Legion. When the orcs became corrupted by the Burning Legion and attacked all Draenei they could find, Apokryfes' tribe fractured and fled in different directions. Apokryfes led only a few Draenei back to Velen.

Eventually, Velen's Draenei arrived at Tempest Keep and wrested control of the transdimensional ship, The Exodar. Apokryfes was assigned to a shift assuring the magical energies of the ship's core were stable and functioning correctly. He was only about to attend his first shift when the ship jumped out of control and crash-landed on Azeroth.

For the past three years, Apokryfes has devoted most of his time toward the study of Azeroth Archaeolgy and . He mostly keeps his knowledge to himself, releasing small pieces only to those who earn his trust.
