Appearance

Anera is around about average height for a blood elf girl of her age. Her hair is naturally raven-coloured but since her resurrection, it has faded to a light blue. She had dyed a streak of it pink. With a slight frame, she would not be physically strong without the Death Knight magic overextending her physical might.

Personality

Anera had always been a very high-spirited girl. From the time she was young, she had always been curious about the world around her and enjoyed spending time exploring and meeting new people. When presented with challenged, she would always try her best and if she did not succeed, would try a different approach until she was able to conquer any obstacle in her way. Since her Undeath, her attitude has changed little, although with a more practical outlook. While she still enjoys exploring and meeting new people and learning about new cultures, she has a somewhat wiser look on the world and has learnt to appreciate every moment she has because she knows it could all be over again in an instant. Nothing means more to her than taking care of her family and making the most of her second chance at life.

Alignment: Neutral Good

History

Anera Solarius was born ten years after her sister, Celonia, to the same mother and father. She spent her youthful years wandering around Eversong Woods and exploring unlike Celonia, who was slowly being drafted into her father’s criminal empire. Anera was a little bit rebellious in that even before she knew her father was a crime lord, she didn’t want to be part of his business or even work for him.

She noticed oddities in her sister over the years, how sometimes Celonia would be dull and empty-minded or suffer from blackouts in her memory. Thinking it may have just been a condition, she pushed her concerns out of her mind and continued to live oblivious to her father and sister’s business, spending most of her time exploring the woods or going out and enjoying the Elven nightlife.

When her father was murdered, Anera was only eighty-nine and she was distraught and spent time searching for the killer but came up empty handed with no actual sleuthing ability. This was around the time that her mother began to be furious at Celonia, often not speaking to her sister or going into fits of rage at the older girl. To escape this crumbling home life of a psychotic mother and a sister who was constantly drinking and having uncontrollable fits of rage, Anera signed up for the Farstriders. She was surprised when she found that she enjoyed the disciplined life and companionship she found among the Farstriders more than her old life of living without direction. Her training gave her competency with swords, bows and glaives but she discovered that her weapon of choice was one-handed crossbows.

Anera served in the Second War, fighting the trolls back from Eversong Forest and taking part in the counter-offensive from the Elves. Her loyalty to her squad was vital when they were ambushed by Troll Headhunters. What would have been the death of a whole squad was prevented due to Anera’s selfless defense of her teammates, giving them time to regroup and beat back the attack. The whole unit came out alive and Anera was given the award for valor when the war ended. She enjoyed her life in the Farstriders, fighting and working alongside her friends for years. She went to visit her mother and sister at least once a fortnight if she could manage it, keeping as strong a connection as she could to her family now that her sister had stopped drinking and the fights with their mother had stopped.

This happy existence was not to last however, with the coming of the Third War. When the Scourge began to march on Silvermoon, Anera was among the forces fighting them off despite pleas from her sister not to go. Despite the best efforts of Anera’s team and the rest of the Elven forces, they were overwhelmed and the Sunwell was destroyed. Three of the six members of Anera’s team didn’t survive the attack on Silvermoon, while the rest, including Anera, were able to live to fight another day.

After the war, Anera’s team each took some time for themselves to cope with the events that had transpired and to mourn the loss of their families and teammates. Anera used this time to return home and help Celonia and their mother rebuild and she grew close to her sister, the pair promising to write to each other when Anera went away again.

Their promise rang true and Anera sent to and received many letters from her sister after her team had recruited three new members after the war and resumed their duties. During a nighttime raid on an Amani camp, one of the new members make the rookie mistake of getting caught and so the team fought off a small clan of trolls to rescue their team member. During this skirmish, Anera took an arrow to the chest, piercing her armor and her lung. The young team leader was wounded but not mortally. Escaping the camp with the whole of their number, the squad was able to flee but were ambushed by a group of Scourge on the Dead Scar. Anera, despite her wounded state, fought hard to give the rest of her squad time to escape, taking out most of the Scourge before falling. Her body was taken back to Acherus by the remaning undead.

The next thing Anera remembered after taking that arrow to her chest was opening her eyes to find herself a member of the Scourge, raised as a Death Knight to serve the Lich King’s will. She fought in the battle of Light’s Hope Chapel and was freed from servitude like the rest of the Ebon Blade. Thinking on what had happened since her death; it took her time to remember who she was and regain her old personality. With time, however, she was able to accept the things she had been forced to do, regaining some semblance of her old personality. During the events of the war with the Lich King, she spent the time reconnecting with the friends and family she had left behind instead of fighting the war alongside the Ebon Blade. She promised to herself to do all the things she had wished she’d done in her life, making the most of her second chance at living.

Skills and Abilities

- Two is better than one: Anera wields a pair of hand crossbows in unison with expert efficiency and accuracy.

- Non-conventional Warfare: Instead of using regular crossbow bolts, Anera uses the weapons to fire bolt of frost or shadow magic. This eliminates the need for reloading or carrying ammunition.
