Appearance

Anarriah is often found wearing a thick set of armour. Despite never having wanted a suit in the colours of the Blood Knights, the Elf's order has had her own suit enchanted not to be too heavy for her rather skinny frame.

Personality

Anarriah's a friendly Sin'dorei, open to most races and its individuals, despite some misgivings with both her supposed enemy as well as her allies. Even so, the young Elf does what she can to show respect, provided it is given to her as well.

Not a particularly religious Elf, some might wonder why Anarriah ever became a Paladin. However, having grown up amongst Light-worshipping High Elves, and having seen the powers of the Light for herself, she believes she recognizes the true virtues of being a Paladin, proving worthy to her powers by being a champion of good, though not of Light.

History

Anarriah was born to a mage and a ranger, both heavy believers in the Holy Light of Creation. Despite -throughout Anarriah's childhood- their efforts to instill a sense of duty to this higher power in their daughter, the lessons never took until they simply gave up. Despite their strong convictions and their disagreement with their maturing daughter's religious beliefs, Anarriah's parents still did what they could to grant their daughter a happy life in the quiet of Eversong Woods.

And so it was that Anrriah grew up into a fine young woman, often being taught by her parents to read and write, as well as to survive in the wilds by her mother while her father often had her study the intricacies of magic. It wasn't until now that Anarriah had had to think about what she'd do to survive on her own. While magic was obviously not her thing, she did show a proclivity to the skills of the Ranger and so the young Elf started her training with the Farstriders.

Even as the Second War raged, Anarriah continued her training with the Farstriders. As the end of the war neared, however, Anarriah joined her fellow Elves in the defence of Quel'thalas' borderlands against the Orcs and Trolls that would burn it down.

A smile was on Anarriah's face... The war was won, Quel'thalas was safe. Her parents and even her fellow rangers had remained alive, though many of them were wounded. Soon after the war, however, Anarriah had come into contact with paladins, often no longer affiliating themselves with Silvermoon anymore and, eventually, she befriended one of these supposed "Champions of the Light." As she joined her on a walk, the two were soon ambushed by a sortie of Trolls. Despite being more than capable of handling herself, Anarriah found herself astounded by the power of the Light and, that day, she had decided that she would see about training herself with this power.

Asking her newfound friend to teach her, her new mentor agreed and Anarriah left the Farstriders to start her training, being taught of the virtues of the Holy Light and how adhering to them allowed the Paladins their power. Though her parents were glad for this apparent religious turn, Anarriah was less convinced of the all-powerful nature of the Light though she couldn't argue with what she'd seen and was being taught.

She was sitting in the forest, the sunbeams caressing her skin as the rough texture of the tree pressed into her back. There had been troubling rumours of sickness among the humans but today was not a day for worrying. She's finally finished her Paladin training with her mentor, a large part of her recent history having been taken up by those teachings which she was reflecting on right now. It wouldn't be long until her people would be dragged into another human war and so Anarriah had decided to sit back and relax, at least for one day. Whatever power, or Goddess, or spirits were out there must allow that.

The young Paladin had even fallen asleep until she was awakened by a loud noise and the, almost frantic, shouting of a Ranger. "Shindu fallah na!" She was certain that's what she heard as she leapt to her feet. Flaring her nostrils, Anarriah could smell the unmistakable stink of death and a glance at the source of the disturbance told it true. War had, again, come to Quel'thalas.

It was a long, bloody fight. Anarriah had managed a return to her order's headquarters. She'd given a warning already heard and she'd strapped on her armour and weapons. To no avail, of course, as the undead Scourge and their human commander spread through her lands like wildfire. She and few others had managed to escape through enemy lines, eventually meeting up with more survivors and, even later, finding a leader in the form of Prince Kael'thas. She had survived then, and she would continue surviving. Sword in hand, grime-covered armour strapped to her body, Anarriah stood guard for ther people even as she started feeling weaker, her armour seeming to become heavier with each passing day.

The High Elves, or Blood Elves as Kael'thas had dubbed them, had become addicted to magic. Despite not being with the main group, she had heard of the humans' betrayal and even caught shreds of stories that the Prince had escaped with most of his people. Gathering up the occasional wanderer, Anarriah and her group tentatively made their way back north, fighting if they had to, hiding if they could. They'd eventually join up with Lord Lor'Themar Theron in his attempts of ridding beloved Quel'thalas of the Scourge and any other monstrosities that may've followed in their wake.

As Quel'thalas and its ruins were largely retaken, rebuilding the cities and towns had been slow. Still suffering from occasional attacks of the Scourge, and constantly suffering pangs of hunger for the magic they'd lost, the building was slow at the best of times. Even so, Anarriah and a party of her raggedy compatriots stood guard near the city's ruins as a group of strange-looking Elves neared. Their eyes had turned green, their skin was reddened and, unlike Silvermoon's protectors, they looked well-fed, strong, and even well-dressed. Taking them to the Lord Regent, the Quel'thalas Blood Elves were soon taught how to regain their lost strength through the use of fel.

Anarriah felt sick of fel, and yet it seemed to be her only lifeline and so she had done as everyone did, taking in the taint to steal a few more precious days of unhindered life. Her powers in the Light had started becoming stronger again with her regained strength and, as she heard of a new Paladin order rising, the young woman flocked to the source of such stories, Lady Liadrin who had become the first of the Blood Knights. Keeping her old armour and weapons, she had them cleaned and reforged, the enchants on them having been redone by the order of the Blood Knights as Anarriah joined their forces, glad to have purpose again.

She didn't agree with many of the Blood Knights' ways. Their torture of M'uru, despite what reasons they gave, was not the way a paladin should act. Not to mention the totalitarian attitude they and the magisters held towards the commoners of the Elven kingdom... Even so, Anarriah did what she could to show a kinder side of her order, doing her duty for her people and doing good for her people's individuals if she had the chance. The Blood Elves had joined the Horde and Anarriah stayed out of it, outright daring to ignore an order to assist these new allies in favour of assisting her own. She'd been punished harshly, yet Anarriah stuck to her proverbial guns.

As Kael'thas returned and betrayed his people, however, Anarriah realized she would have to take a more active role and so she'd joined the efforts of the Shattered Sun Offensive on the Isle of Quel'danas, fighting alongside supposed enemies to defeat the Burning Legion and retake the Sunwell for her people. After the Sunwell had been retaken, Anarriah even went so far as to join the Horde's forces in Northrend, though she never lifted a finger to help the Orcs' efforts against the Alliance.

Now, with the Cataclysm having happened and much of the world reeling, it seems Anarriah's moments of peace are once again over as she's left Quel'thalas, retaking her position of a do-gooder, hoping her Light-given powers will be enough.

Skills and Abilities

In her free time, Anarriah has taught herself how to investigate your average crimescene, eventually being granted the possibility to, officially, be taught such. These skills and her eye for detail have granted the Elf duties beyond the scope of the average Blood Knight.
