Personality

Amous is a quiet person, often too lost in his own mind to notice other people. As if that matters nowadays, as Amous has grown to mistrust other people. He very often ponders about life, and can easily lose track of time while thinking. He used to think that alcohol blinds the mind, and fumes your thoughts. But after recent happenings, it's a relief to him.

Other: He's not fond of speaking. At all. Henceforth, Amous feels more comfortable around people who don't blabber too much.

History

Amous was the third child of guardsman Belan Jakford and baker Jeanette Graham. His siblings are Serg, oldest one of the brothers, and Dronar, the strongest one. Amous, in the other hand, fancies himself the smartest of the brothers. The three grew up without too many friends, so the bond between them was strong. They couldn't even think of ever leaving each other.

But their parents were quite ready to leave each other. They constantly fought over whatever managed to irritate them. Why isn't the table clean enough, why aren't the beds soft enough to sleep propely, why isn't Belan getting paid better.. The list goes on. And one evening, while Amous was outside with his brothers, playing tag, he ran behind their house to hide. Ducking under a window, he accidentally overheard another one of their parents fights. But this time it was different. This time the fight really went over the line. Both of the parents screamed, clawed, kicked and hit each other instead of their usual mockflinging. This was the end of it.

Later that night, while all the others slept, Amous couldn't close his eyes. The image of their parents truly fighting had burned on his eyelashes, and everytime he closed his eyes, he saw it again. He then noticed that there was a candle still burning in their kitchen, and it reflected two shadows to the nearby wall. Other one was clearly Belan, but the other one.. He couldn't tell who or what it was. The shadow didn't have a face, just rags in the place of facial features. As the curiosity started to itch, Amous snuck closer, and peeked around the corner to see who that mysterious figure was.

A man dressed in black leather. His father was speaking to an assassin. Amous muffled his gasp of surprise, and snuck back to bed. He'd ask his father what was that all about in the morning.

But the next morning there was a grim surprise for all of the brothers. They found the mutilated corpse of their mother, Jeanette. And Belan was nowhere to be found. Apparently the father had had enough of his wife, and decided to let the assassin do the dirty work while he ran away. So Dronar, Serg and Amous were left alone, as a teenagers. But they were in luck, as the boys had became friends with the son of a priest working in a nearby chapel. The brothers took off to the chapel, where priest Toring gladly accepted the lads as altar boys.

Years passed, and eventually all of the brothers turned 18, and were ready to face the world alone. They thanked Toring for all he had done, and promised to visit someday. But now they had to train, to hunt down their father, and the assassins who had done the dirty deed. The brothers headed to Stormwind to be trained as knights and soldiers. But only Dronar ended up as a knight. Serg and Amous became squires, hoping to become paladins one day. They trained, and trained, following their masters and training even harder.. After four and a half years, Amous had it. This wasn't getting him anywhere. He had to take action, now.

So he left. Left Dronar to train as a knight, and Serg as a paladin. He'd hunt their father, deliver justice, and return to be with his brothers again. He disappeared for six years, simply travelling from inn to inn, from village to village, from city to city, looking for clues about his father. Then Amous found him. Naked. Robbed blind. And dead.

Six years wasted. Four and a half years of training wasted. That was all the justice Belan was going to get from anyone. With a grim face, Amous returned to Stormwind. Unsuprisingly, his brothers had left to their own ways, Dronar becoming a mercenary, and Serg had formed his own little squad who he led around Azeroth. Amous was simply depressed.

He spent two years looking for his brothers. Because there is no longer any clues about them, he gave up. Now, he focuses on eradicating all assassins-for-hire from the faze of Azeroth. He has even considered of making his own squad of quiet, honest and good folk.

Some time later, he joined a group of Paladins who centered around eradicating all Warlocks from the world. Never before had Amous felt more comfortable around people. But during one of his skirmishes around Northrend, he was knocked unconscious and left behind by his group, who fell back. As he woke up, he couldn't remember a thing. Where he was, who hit him, where did he belong.. So he started to wander around to help his memory to recover.

He wandered for weeks, nearly a month. Food was no problem, as Alliance camps supplied him with rations and a map. But he didn't really know where to go. He was lost until one of the fellows in a camp told him he had seen a group of Paladins marching away. This jolted Amous' memory back to track, and he finally managed to get back to Stormwind. But as he returned, his friends and allies had given him the "death in absentia" status, and henceforth he was left out of the group.

Let down by his friends, Amous decided not to trust Light anymore. He felt as if it didn't serve him any purpose. Where was his help when he was wandering aimlessly? Why didn't his faith point the way? So, from that day forward he was classified as an ex-paladin. He's just a bitter and mistrustful soldier from now on.
