Amerand is a firm believer of the Light and follower of the Three Virtues. He sees himself as a protector of the people, and prefers to spend most of his time helping his fellow men in need of help. He is reluctant to use violence but will not hesitate to take up arms if his people are being harmed.

Amerand believes there's atleast some good left in every person and hopes that by serving as an example to the people, the Church will get more followers.

His belief in the good of all races, inclines him to be very trusting and somewhat oblivious to what evil deeds one has performed in the past, believing there is redemption for everyone. Though he acknowledges that the greater evils such as the Undead and Demons are beyond redemption, and can not be reasoned with.

History

Born as the only child to Elynn and Monroe Silverwind, Amerand grew up shortly before the second war. After the Kingdom of Stormwind had fallen to the Horde, Amerand's parents fled to Lordaeron and settled in Andorhal, where they conceived their first and only child. While he was born in Andorhal, he has no memories of his time in Lordaeron due to his young age. The only thing he can remember from that time, was his first hammer. When he was three, his father had given him a toy hammer. This toy would be used often from that day on as Amerand would often imitate his father's work on the anvil by smashing his toy hammer into the wood of a chair or table, this display would often make his father chuckle.

After the Second War, when Amerand was 4, he and his parents left for Westfall to help rebuild after the destruction. His father offered his services as a blacksmith to the people and his mother could often be found in the kitchen, cooking up a fine meal to serve to her husband after a hard day's work.

By the time he was six, he had almost forgotten all about the small hammer his father gave him. Amerand would now prefer to play outside with some of his neighboring children, engaging in fantasy adventures with them. Wielding a stick as a weapon and an abandoned cart wheel as shield, he would always imagine himself as a noble knight. Sometimes they would slay a mighty dragon, blood red as they had been in their parents' tales of the orcs and their mighty dragon steeds. Other times they would defeat an army of the foul greenskins, but the outcome was always the same: They emerged victorious and went home to eat their meals.

When Amerand was eight, his parents had first told him about the Light, both being firm believers themselves they hoped Amerand would turn out the same way. They told him, that through helping others, he could make the world a better place. They had left out some details in their story, not wanting him to take on more then he could handle. But the mere thought of changing the world, that had seen so much suffering at the hands of the orcs, was enough for the boy. That day, Amerand decided to help the people of Westfall.

Unfortunately for Amerand, his help was more of a nuisance to the people then that it actually was help. He would often ask anyone that passed by if they had a chore for him to do. Repeatedly asking the question, making the people all the more annoyed. On the times the people did have a chore for him, in his excitement he would often mess up. He would drop the apples, he was allowed to pick. He would trample some of the new flowers, when he was allowed to help in the garden. This all led to the people no longer wanting his help and a talk from his parents. His father explained to him, that while it is good to help others, you mustn't do what lies beyond your abilities. Not knowing where his abilities lay, Amerand decided to stay in the house, moping around. His father, saddened by his son's moping, asked him if he wanted to help him at the forge.

He started off, in the corner, carefully watching his father work and listening as his father explained what he was doing. As he grew, he was allowed more and more tasks. He started off by picking up the cooled steel and bringing it to the bin that held his father's creations. By the time he was 10, he was allowed near the forge, his father could not stop preaching about the dangers of the heat at first. His father first let him practice working with his Blacksmith tongs on the cooled metal before he was allowed near heated metal.

When Amerand was twelve and Stormwind had been rebuild, his parents decided to move towards their kingdom's capital, so that his father may set up a shop there. Amerand was not to happy to leave his friends behind but did not want to go against his parents' wishes either, so the Silverwind family moved to Stormwind. Their new home was located in the Old Town district, where once his parents' house had stood before the Orcs came. His father set up a shop there and Amerand was more then happy to help his father.

When he was thirteen, and gazing out of the window of his father's shop, Amerand saw a strong figure, clad in silver plate mail, with an hammer on his back and a book at his side. Upon seeing this man, he was intrigued by his strange appearance. To him, weapons and books didn't match up. His father, having joined him by the window saw what he was looking at and explained to him that the man was a paladin, a champion of the Light. Amerand decided he wanted to find out more. He went out on the streets and confronted this paladin, asking him all sorts of questions, in his excitement he did not even let the man finish his sentence before starting another question. "Is it true you are a paladin?" "What are you doing here?" "What's your name?" "What's that book?". The paladin raised his hands to shush the boy and answered his questions. His name was Rolan Riverwell, he was indeed a paladin and he was here to aid the guards in an Investigation. Apparently a silver necklace had been stolen from a very close friend of his and he wanted to make sure the case was settled before he left the city. The man waved him goodbye after that, wanting to have a word with the guard.

The next day, Amerand decided to help this paladin, he had known about some of the dark alleyways thugs used to do their shady business and wanted to see if they knew anything. As he walked past the dark alleyways, gazing in them briefly to look at their inhabitants, surely he did find something. He saw two shady figures, one of them holding a silver necklace and they appeared to be discussing something. Afraid that they would see him if he got closer, he stuck to the corner of the alleyway, watching as he saw the figure dump the necklace in a crate and quickly run out of the alley with his partner, their masks raised over their noses. Amerand let out a relieved sigh as they ran the other way, not noticing him. Swallowing in his fears and hoping the thugs would not be back for the necklace for a while, Amerand started to walk into the ally. The horrid smell was the first thing that overcame him, growing stronger as he neared the boxes. Pinching his nostrils shut with one hand, he carefully opened the crate with the other. Carefully looking inside the crate, he quickly picked up the necklace and ran out of the alleyway. As soon as he was out of the alleyway, he took a few deep breaths of fresh air and started running towards the guard's barracks.

Upon his arrival, he was greeted by a local guard, asking him what he was doing here. The boy was quick to explain that he had found the necklace Sir Riverwell was looking for and showed the silver piece of jewelry to him. The guard nodded, asking him if he wanted to remain in the barracks while they sorted this matter out. After what felt like an eternity, he was greeted by a familiar face, sir Riverwell himself had come to thank him. After asking for his name, how he had found the necklace and what he knew about the Light, sir Riverwell knew enough and asked him if he wanted to become his squire, after he had returned from an assignment in Redridge. Amerand was more then happy to accept his offer, and his parents were amazed that he was offered this, offering their full support.

By the time he was 14, sir Riverwell came to get him. His father had already taught him some basic combat instructions and he had learned to wield an actual sword and shield. From that day on, he started his new life as a squire. Sir Riverwell, taught him all he knew about combat, the Three Virtues and the Light. He had learned to ride a horse, he had grown accustomed to the weight of Plate mail and his faith in the Light had grown considerably. There were times where he felt his training was to much to handle, but the support in his parents' letters and mentorship of Sir Riverwell pushed him onwards on the path of the Light and eventually his faith had grown so strong he did not doubt himself at all.

At the age of 22, his training was complete and he was set on his path. Upon completion of his training, his father had a surprise for him. He had crafted a set of bright plate mail, specially made for his son. Amerand was honored and has worn this set of Plate mail ever since. Sir Riverwell had gone into Lordaeron to defeat the Undead, and he had left Amerand behind to help and defend the people of the Kingdom of Stormwind. And this was exactly what he did. Amerand has spend the last years helping the people in every part of the Kingdom, though he prefers to spend his time in Stormwind.
