Appearance

Likes to dress in fine dresses and robes, she keeps her appearance neat. Her features are sharp. She's very thin, she's always been underweight which has caused her health problems. She's just below average height for a Sin'dorei. Aside from dark eyeshadow, she wears little cosmetics. She holds herself in an upright and proper, if a bit stiff, posture.

Personality

Alignment: Neutral Evil

Amelia keeps an outgoing and personable outward appearance. She rarely likes to show any other appearance. Inwardly, she has tendancies towards vengefulness and manipulativeness. When crossed, she is quick to hold grudges but will wait patiently for an opportunity to get back.

A side effect of her enjoying magic, rather than lamenting it, she's a magical addict. From getting lost in spellcasting to a relaxed mana potion spiked wine in the tavern, she quietly revels in it all. She's not unaware of the dangers, and she's careful to hide it from disapproving eyes everywhere... But so exhillarating!

Very racist. She'll turn her nose up and snootily speak in Thallasian in the presence of any non-Sin'dorei. Not that she would ever choose to speak another language if it wasn't totally nessicary in the first place.

History

Still young for a Sin'dorei, and seen as unsuitable for combat due to her physical stature and age, Amelia has watched (or more appropriately ignored) the many wars of the outside world and other races. She cared little for the Alliance, and now cares little for most of the Horde, though she does find them slightly more tolerable than an Alliance that betrayed her race leaving almost everyone she knew dead. She could have lived her entire life with little care for other races and their issues ... Had those issues not come knocking on the Sin'dorei's door.

Like many Sin'dorei, Amelia was born into a world of High Elven finery and wealth. Her family was well-to-do, like most in their paradise city of Silvermoon. Her father was a Priest of the Light, so it followed naturally that when she showed interest in becoming a priest and token faith she was trained as a priest as well. She had an older brother, but no other siblings.

As she grew older and studied more she became bored of the holy, self-righteous, droning, but she found a new "light" in the Light. She accompanied her father one day as he visited many places on his normal route and realized that because he was a respected man of Faith he knew many important people, gained entry into many otherwise private places, and his word was respected simply for their trusting him to be of high morals. Privately she began to twist the teachings of the Light to her own meanings. Having been manipulating and using the Light at that point for decades, her faith in her own ability to do so never waivered. She also found, even at this young age long before the Sunwell had been disturbed, that the divine energies created a euphoric high much like arcane for many mages. Only with a percieved divine source few if any would question a dependance. And who would question use or over use of energies used to heal and protect?

As an aside to her priestly training duties, Amelia took a job at a scroll shop. She would keep inventory, sell scrolls, and occasionally scribe (mundane) documents. This is where she first encountered magical scrolls and developed an interest in them. She would slowly train under the shop's owner to scribe, but between his disinterest in instruction and the eventual misfortune to befall Silvermoon, the instruction never reached beyond basics. This job is also where she met Joash Rubyspring. Once in a while he would casually come into the shop to pick up parchment for his studies, nothing abnormal of several aspiring local mages to supply themselves there. What caught her attention was one particularly busy and boring afternoon she caught him sneaking into the back room to snoop around. He was embarrassed and tried to flee, but she cornered and questioned him until he spilled that he was looking for a particular rare scroll. She fetched it immediately and taunted him until he gave in farther: his parents were looking to heist it. Unexpectedly to him, she offered help. She'd seen her employer's disinterest in teaching her all too clearly and was eager for the chance to get back at him. On one condition, she wanted in. Every good thief needing a priestly connection at some point, they accepted.

When the Scourge attacked Silvermoon Amelia was visiting a priestly mentor. His importance meant that shortly after the walls were broken a runner was sent to his home with a warning. His age meant that he was to flee the city to the North instead of stay to defend it. Concern for herself, likewise being unfit for defending against an attack, and being the nearest available person meant that she was to help the old man as he exited the city. Even though they left quickly the city was already falling around them.

It was months before Amelia found any of her family again. Wether they had even survived... In that time she quickly felt the first strains being without the Sunwell. When her brother finally arrived with news of Kael'Thas and fel energy she cautiously welcomed it. He also told her about their parents death he witnessed at the hands of the scourge and his own narrow escape. Unfortunately her brother also came to tell her he was leaving for the Outlands with Kael'Thas and the many others that were following him. Amelia still does not know what became of him, but today assumes the best - that he is dead.

In the years following she has quietly tried to come to terms with the loss of the life she knew. And now she's finally reached the age of majority, and is on her own...
