Personality

Altimus is a decent fellow for a younger human. He's kind to those he meets in his travels, and tries honestly to make friends. However the poor kid is beta, and thus easily pushed around, submitting to wills stronger than his own. That said he puts his best effort out during his travels.

History

Altiums' mother died in childbirth, and his father had long since been dead. The newborn babe was put in the care of the town's goodwife, who raised him like her own. The woman grew older as she taught Altimus the basic education she felt he needed. Math, history, reading and writing, and a hint of alchemy. His brain was eager to learn, but it wasn't long until she had passed away one night due to her age. Altimus was left alone at the age of thirteen, but he convinced the Lakeshire guard to let him join.

He became a scout for the Guard, helping to track Blackrock movements, Gnoll patrols, and whatever else lurked in the mountains. Soon the lad was given his own bow, and trained on efficient survival methods should he get lost. He scouted, and fought, for the Redridge Guard for about five years. When he turned eighteen he felt that he had learned enough to make a life for his own, he put in his resignation with the Captain and left.

His first time leaving Redridge, Altimus was almost killed. Upon entering the Elwynn Forest, the boy decided he was going to do a bit of fishing in one of the streams off the road. After a couple of hours, and a decently fat trout, Altimus had about called it quits until he noticed something beside him. A young bear cub, wandered off from its mother he thought to himself, the severity of the situation not kicking in. He smiled at it and offered a bit of the trout, not paying attention to the approaching growl.

The bear cub nibbled on the trout as Altimus looked up to see a large, furry splay of claws head for him. He shrieked as the massive paw swiped across his face, leaving a deep gash from his nose up his left cheek. Altimus rolled to the side, into the stream, he floundered about trying to stand and flee. The bear slammed into the kid, flinging him onto the other side of the stream. Looking back to make sure its cub was safe, the bear momentarily forgot about Altimus. The frightened teen scrambling to his feet, he darted off into the woods, making his way back to the road. The cub munched happily on the trout as its mother looked back only to see a now distant Altimus hightailing it.

By the time he managed to find the road, Altimus' face had swollen from the bear swipe. Unsure of what to do, he ripped a shirt in his pack to shreds to try and loosely bandage his face. The end result was a shoddy tie around, knotted in the back of his head. Sighing in relief, he continued to Goldshire for medical treatment. Sure enough after a few days, he felt good as new! Granted the doctor told him that the scars would remain for many years, and he told the kid not to mess with the stitches across his face.

After a couple of years Altimus had ended up in Dun Morogh, working with some dwarves out of a small hunting lodge. Here he learned some new survival methods for a cold climate, such as means of staying warm and finding edible food. Altimus had saved up enough money by this time and bought himself a sturdy, powerful longbow. He also fashioned himself a quiver out of a bear skin, albeit a shoddy one. Things were looking up for Altimus as he once again made his way on his travels.

Here we have Altimus, exploring the wide world in his youth.
