Personality

Alene has a cold and distant personality or at least she tries to have just that. It does usually not work as she feels too involved or inclined to help to actually be cold and distant. At heart, Alene is a kind woman with a big heart and she doesn't seem the type to bear grudges for anyone but herself. Alene finds herself in quite the pickle for she loathes herself for things happened in the past. She does not wish happiness upon herself but does not want to deny others their happiness by not helping them. She loves to help others out of the pits of their own sorrows.

History

Alene was born to the town of Moonbrook. Nothing particularly interesting had happened in the first few years of her life. It was a normal and quiet town until the Orcs attacked. It was never the same again after the township had been ravaged by the Orcs. Luckily Alene and her family managed to run for the hills and they got away from the green onslaught. They held up in the hills, waiting for the Orcs to come but they never did come. The greenskins weren't interested in chasing villagers through unfamiliar hills, it seemed.

After a good deal of time the remaining people of Moonbrook returned to the ravaged township and started to repair the damage the Orcs had brought along with them. They were quiet years. Alene had no recollection of the Orc invasion, she was too young and asleep to remember them. She knew of the invasion but never did she realize until a later age that she had actually been lucky to be one of the survivors of the Orcish campaign.

It did not take long for the Defias to reach the town of Moonbrook after it had been rebuilt. Some people were angered, some sad and some were dead. Alene's mother left the town while her father joined the Defias and their ‘righteous' cause. Alene remained with her father, never did her mother care much for her daughter. She was proud of the son she had, the son whom she took with her. Thus only Alene and her father remained in Moonbrook along with the Defias.

Alene was trained to be a bandit, she was trained to be vicious and cruel. She couldn't be any of those things. The first time she was confronted with people who supposedly were the enemy she fled the battle. The second time did she stay only to watch her father get caught by one of their swords. There was no third time. She fled with blood covered hands, away from the Defias. She hated herself for not being able to save her father, she hated herself for murdering the perpetrator and she hated herself for running away, crying.

She fled south through the hills to the Vale. She exiled herself but could never hate herself enough to commit suicide. Alene was alone in the vale, perhaps not physically but mentally. The years went by, the wars sank into years passed. She became more apt at surviving in the wild but never did she forgive herself. She still is a coward and a murderer.
