Appearance

Alce is usually clad in a long dress, never particularly expensive due to her travelling a lot, but comfortable. Cinched with a sturdy leather belt and complimented with riding boots. When travelling she rarely adorns herself with jewellery and can seem rather mundane. She often carries a shield and short sword for protection on the road.

Rather than being slim, she has an athletic build due to having always accompanied her father on his travels and assisting with lifting and carrying. Her eyes are large and warm, framed by her raven hair which she always wears long and loose.

Personality

Alignment: Lawful Good

Alce is young and still somewhat naive. Having been raised by only her father she knows predominantly only what he has taught her and the values he instilled in her, and can be very surprised or intimidated by new experiences, though also tries her best to help those in need.

She has, much to her father's regret, her mother's sense of adventure and is beginning to long for a life other than that of a nomadic trader, though it is balance with a strong feeling of filial piety toward her father. This conflict between her own will and her sense of responsibility can leave her torn sometimes.

History

The daughter of the merchant Roan Martlet and the late Lordaeron soldier Kaylar Martlet, Alce was the product of (and hence cause of) her parents' rather rushed marriage. Roan and Kaylar did not get on particularly well, with Kaylar believing that the child should be raised in the kingdom of Lordaeron, and Roan insisting that his daughter accompany him on his travels - as the family business would be her future and birthright. So it was that Alce saw little of her mother, nor of real schooling. She did however learn to ride a horse at a very young age and came to know her way about the Eastern Kingdoms exceedingly well, travelling with her father's trade caravan from city to city. Once a year they would make the journey north to Lordaeron to see Kaylar and her mother would tell her with tear-filled eyes that she had grown so much.

She was around the age of ten when Roan told her that they could not go north that year, for Stratholme and Lordaeron had fallen to the onslaught of the Scourge. It was the first time she saw her father shed a tear and made her wonder if perhaps there had been something more between her parents than yearly visits and arguments.

Now in her late teens, her father Roan has taught her to be a merchant and now trusts her with travelling across the Eastern kingdoms by herself in search of goods to sell in Stormwind. He hopes to extend their business to Ironforge and other Alliance cities, hoping that his daughter will follow in his footsteps.
