Usual Garments/Armor: Aidan wears plated armor in most situations, favoring heavy armor and two-handed swords. He rarely removes his armor, as he has no need to eat or sleep and a moment unarmored is a moment of weakness. On missions, he does not generally clean, and his armor is often caked with dried blood and dirt. However, he keeps pristine military standards when he reports to his superiors, and takes a vague sort of pride in maintaining his equipment.

Personality

Alignment: Chaotic Good. “I will do what I must to see the end of the Scourge on Azeroth.”

Aidan is persistent, and what personality remains from his living existence is one of dedication and zealous service. He is highly loyal to the Ebon Blade; however he often takes risks that his superiors are not fond of. Aidan’s fearlessness is partially rooted in a desire to die in battle against the Scourge, as some part of him still recognizes that the unlife he lives is a dreadful curse.

Aidan secretly harbors a desire to return to normal life, to serve the Light and to find an end to his undeath. Often he does not recognize the sparks of humanity left within him, but when he does prove emotional he seeks to hide it from his superiors as a sign of weakness. Despite his loyalty, he sometimes lapses in his duty to the Ebon Blade in order to reclaim lost relics and memories of his past. Additionally, he sometimes seeks out the healing of Priests and Paladins after battle. The rush of pain and feeling brought by the Light is the closest thing he has to being mortal.

History

Aidan was a Paladin in life, the son of a Blacksmith and a member of the Silver Hand known for little but his piety. His early life was much like that of any other Human boy, and he spent his time as a squire in the relative safety of the city of Stratholme. He was a very faithful man, virtuous and stalwart in his belief in the tenets of the Light. During his time with the Silver Hand, Aidan fell in love with a Priestess serving with his unit. They were stationed together in Lordaeron in a village to the north and west of Stratholme, and that was where he would meet his end. A Lich set its sights on the village, and the Scourge forces easily overpowered the soldiers defending the town. Aidan gave his life in the defense of the town hall, crushed under the literal weight of the attacking undead. His last memory before darkness was of the look of terror on his beloved Priestess' face before she turned to flee and he was dragged beneath a sea of ghouls.

Rather than feeling the Light's presence in death, Aidan woke to the sight of a Lich leering over him. He was a Death Knight now, and, though his purpose was now different, his motivation was the same. After training for the Lich King and Ebon Blade in the way of his new Order, he served well in small ambushes of Scarlet patrols in and around the Plaguelands. His unyielding style of combat and indifference to slaughter earned some praise among the Knights of Acherus.

When the Ebon Blade broke free, Aidan changed little. He was zealous in life, zealous in servitude, and now he was zealous in Undeath. He would gladly kill for the vengeance of the Ebon Blade, and under their banner he went again into the world of the living. Instead of marching to Icecrown with his brethren, Aidan was tasked with hunting down some rogue Death Knights who were wreaking havoc in the lands of Azeroth. He served a tour later in Northrend towards the end of the campaign against the Lich King, and has only recently returned home. Now his duty is twofold: to root out those free Knights who harm the innocent, and to assist in destroying the Scourge presence in Lordaeron.

Skills and Abilities

A Curse Unending, A Strength Eternal: Possessing unnatural strength and unliving stamina, Aidan is a well-honed killing machine. He cannot tire in combat, rarely loses focus, and is not afraid of death. His enhanced strength could match that of an Orc, and would overpower a mortal Human of his stature and build.

Voice of Terror: Sowing fear into the hearts of mortal men, the voice of a Death Knight is made to be as terrifying as possible. Aidan has learned to master the power of his cursed voice, and uses it to intimidate his foes or to shout orders clearly across the battlefield.

Combat Tactics: Aidan has been taught a great deal about small-unit tactics throughout his life and unlife. While he leaves the orders to his superiors, the realm of the brutal melee is his canvas. While he is not necessarily inspiring to a group of mortal soldiers, he can certainly be commanding, and his experience in military matters gives his advice weight to those who have seen him in action.
