History

Aearon was born in the year -356 to his parents Draugves and Hamben Fourchewer. Draugves gave birth to Aearon in their home while a Priestess named Caeldis Elenvir from their villiage of Winterspring delivered the baby. His father and mother were very happy to finally have created something beautiful, their very own baby boy. Aearon’s childhood was not one of ease as he would often work daily with his father, creating blades and bows for hunting. His mother, who was the town’s record keeper, taught him to read and write in Darnassian. He would often play with the other Night Elf children in Winterspring. They would often explore the beautiful surrounding landscape and pretend as if they were adventurers looking for treasure. Life for Aearon as it was for most Night elves, was simple. Aearon grew and matured as all Night Elves do, though due to immortality, he did not age any further.

Aearon continued to support his village and although he didn’t get to read often, he tried to keep his mind at ease. Aearon would often take trips to Hyjal and look at the beautiful landscape to ease his mind. This would be Aearon’s daily life for the next 344 years. Things changed in year 20, when the Burning Legion attacked Hyjal. Aearon, who hadn’t fought often before, was now one of many to take up arms against this evil threat. Aearon and his comrades fought bravely against the threat during the Battle of Hyjal but at the end of the battle, the Nordrassil had been destroyed, causing the Night Elves’ immortality to vanish and their bodies to now age.

Aearon was devastated by this defeat at Hyjal and although a new tree had grown in its place, Aearon still took this defeat personal. Aearon traveled to the Kingdom of Lordaeron and joined the Argent Dawn in the defense of that which is good and the attack on that which is evil. Aearon began training hard alongside his fellow comrades and got better and better at using his sword, creating it into a now powerful weapon. But, the threat in the Kingdom became more and more apparent as a plague began to spread and the land began to become twisted and distorted. One day in the year of 27 while scouting, Aearon’s patrol was attacked by Scourge. Aearon and his comrades tried to hold off the attack best they could but the Scourge overwhelmed them. Aearon went to turn as one of his comrades screamed in pain but suddenly, blackness would be all Aearon could see, everything was dark. The official report to his mother and father states that their son was killed in battle against the Scourge and that he fought bravely in the face of danger. His patrol was completely and utterly wiped out.

Aearon remembers little of what happened as his memory and mind was twisted and distorted. He gave his life fighting against evil yet now, he was risen from the dead to serve the very thing he fought against. His family was devastated by the news but his mind was not what it was before. Now twisted, his mind knew not what his parents names even were. Now a servant of the Scourge, Aearon fought against the Argent Dawn and was brutal in his methods. Deep inside of him though he felt as though this wasn’t who he was. Over time he started to feel that he wanted not to kill anymore and that he didn’t want to serve the Lich king. But, the Lich King’s control of his mind was too strong for him to disobey and as such, he continued his brutal quest filled with blood lust.

It was not until after the Battle of Light's Hope Chapel that Aearon was finally able to think for himself. When freed he fled Acherus with his Death Charger, Dagoth and ran North. While running he began to realize the horrible atrocities he had committed. He began to think of what to do and he had began to reach deep into his mind and remember his parents in Winterspring. He turned Dagoth around and began to press towards Winterspring. When he reached Winterspring, the townspeople began to flee from his presence. The men of the town came to him with sword and shield before asking him what he wanted with their town. He explained to them who he was and who he was looking for. Upon doing so two elderly night Elves came out from one of the homes, terror on their face. The lead guard lowered his weapon and walked towards the elderly couple, he talked to them for a few minutes before walking back. The elderly couple went back inside the house. The guard spoke in a commanding and upset tone “They don’t want you here! You’re not their son! Their son died long ago, you are just some twisted beast which now owns his rotting corpse!” Horrified at those words, Aearon quickly spun his Death Charger around and galloped off into the wilderness.

Aearon was devastated and alone. He sat up along a tree and began to cry, though no tears came out. Dagoth, came close and laid down next to him. He spent the next month, laying in the cold snow of Winterspring, not knowing what to do. While sleeping, Aearon had a hallucination of Elune who spoke to him. She said “Stand up my child, you have had much hardship thrown upon you and you have done many horrible things but you may redeem yourself. In life we are given choices, whether to love, whether to kill, whether to triumph. You must make a choice. Pick yourself up out of the snow and redeem yourself, my child.” Aearon took this message deeply and quickly took his Death Charger and rode Hyjal to begin meditating and finding himself. To find the emotions he had lost during his time in the Scourge. To find who he was supposed to be and what he was supposed to do. To calm his mind and ease his body of the mental scars the still plagued him.
