Information

Player: Psychyn

Character Full Name: Adriana Bright

Character In-Game Name: Adriana

Nickname(s): Adri

Association(s): The Argent Dawn, The Alliance.

Race: Human

Class: Templar (Former Paladin)

Skills and Abilities:

Goblin Rocket Pack - Prone to mechanical failures and mishaps, Adriana uses her rocket pack as opening move of most if not all combat situations. Requiring a minor distance and jump, she uses the momentum to be shot through the air for short-distanced jumps. The landing itself, due to the heavy plate puts her body under heavy strain and as such, leaves a small crater on the ground as impact zone. If all goes well, she's fired straight into the combat zone. If not, she might end up ruining the straps, watching it fly above her before crashing down. Or possibly fly into the nearest tree instead. Naturally, it has an explosion risk as well.

Weapon Mastery [Pistol] (Right hand) - Training herself with close ranged weaponry has made her adept at using a pistol. It has several rounds which she can easily fire in close ranged combat. She frequently uses it as opening move in battle. The weapon is prone to jams and overloads if fired too much in quick succession.

Side Arm [Flamethrower] (Left wrist) - An fuel cord runs from the can that she carries on her left hip, across the side of her armor to her armpit, over the down side of her arm to her wrist. There, it contains a small pilot light which with the flick of a switch can spew fire in the area before her. Experimental technology with several weak points, including but not limited to the fuel can, wire, the switch, and possible self-mutilation due to severe overheating. As protection of her hands she wears a set of protective, fire proof gloves.

Gnomeregan Bonechopper (Left hand) - Mainly for the protectiveness of the wire and fuel can which she holds at her left side over the fuel can. If drawn, it can be turned into a 'chainsaw' with the flick of a button with the latest gnomish technology. It however, has only a small fuel storage and as such is easily emptied in the next three minutes rendering its specialty useless. Turning it into a dull sharp short-sword with ragged teeth instead of a smooth blade.

Focus - Her training as Templar has made her capable of resisting magically induced stuns. However, never having been entirely adept at this she is still prone to mind control if a person would cast the spell for a longer while. She can fend it off, but eventually succumbs if her enemy is adept in the spell.

Fanaticism - Increased resistance against Shadow and Fel magic like a normal Templar. Not better or worse at it then her brethren.

Ritual - All Templars have a ritual, and Adriana her choice was being branded. Her mid-back, has burn lines going onto her higher back with the symbol of her order in between. The brand lines go on, till it reaches her neck where they end. In between the tattoo is the text "Like water cleanses the body, so does fire cleanse the soul."

Age: 31

Sex: Female

Hair: Red hair carried in a knot with two loose strands at the side of her face.

Eyes: Dark Blue

Weight: 80kg (Muscles, not fat mind you!)

Height: 1.75 m

Appearance

From head to toe, Adriana carries full heavy plate armor. It's black, adorned with a tabard over it and at first glance quite simple. When in combat she tends to carry a protective plate band around her neck that just stops under her eyes, leaving the rest of her head exposed. Having purposely chosen for the lack of protection rather than a limited view. Her chest is covered by a simple dark red tabard (with white edges) with as only symbol a white cross in the midst of it. Her back is covered by a dark red cape in the same color as her tabard.

Her left leg has a fuel container strapped to it, bands going over her inner thigh; it's about the size of half of her upper leg, starting at her hip and going down to her knee. It's a rather simple, black fuel container (with a switch at the side) which clearly tries to blend in with the armor. From the top, a secured wire runs over Adriana's side, towards her armpit and from there, runs down from the bottom of her left arm to her wrist. There, a small simple metallic box covers the pilot light with a hole at the front allowing for the fire to spew out.

Just slightly above the fuel container at her left hip, rests an simple one-handed weapon sheath which is modified well enough to not cut the wire instantly when it's drawn. (The wire runs under it)

At her right hip she carries a leather satchel made specifically for her pistol. Nothing else would fit into it without risking falling out or get damaged. The holster is sticking out at the top, making it an easy "one-movement" grab weapon. Going to her lower back, you would find the pouch that contained ammo for said pistol hanging at her belt.

Taking off Adriana's armor, you'd find a well-muscled body. Her stomach abs have been worked on and her shoulders are somewhat bigger due to the many years of combat training. Her arms, legs, hips and any other piece of her body that can be trained has been trained, and as such you won't find any fat on her. Over her back is the tattoo (as mentioned earlier).

Other:

Across her jaw at the right side of her face runs a visible old scar of roughly an index finger length. An reminder of a weapon failure during a skirmish at Wintergarde Keep.

On her left hip is a burn mark at the same height and width of the fuel can, which can be easily identified as an old mechanical failure. The skin is redder then usual and no matter how much one would tan it or cover it up, will always be more visible then the rest of her body tan. This scar is as one would expect usually covered up by her armor.

Personality

Alignment: Lawful Good

Adriana has vowed to fight evil whenever she sees it. If she does not fight evil when it arises, or if she fails to fight said evil she will suffer from penalties until an act of penance has been made. Her mood will suffer, her powers will fade and unless someone tells her that "She has suffered enough from her mistake." this will indefinitely stay.

When not in combat and in a city or outpost, Adriana in general is a very friendly woman. She likes to be social, tends to be talkative but acts like "one of the guys" due to male influence in her early history. She can certainly drink as one without becoming overly drunk and has a rather competitive nature. Adriana likes winning, she likes being the best she can be and most definitely likes driving herself to new limits. Losing, she can accept the first time. She can even accept it the second time, but should a third occur she's rather quick to grab her blade and alter the game. Patience only goes so far with gambling, contests or games but in recent years has managed to quit rather than try after a second loss.

Adriana isn't one to talk about feminine stuff or ask questions about what to dress in. She rather cleanses the land with her weaponry, getting covered in the blood of her enemies. Evil lurks everywhere and Adriana uses her 'friendly' charms to find out the true meaning behind people. Once she has learned what she needed to know (Or believes she has) the game might quickly turn into something more deadly if a level of paranoia has been reached. No matter what she does however, she firmly believes it is for the good of the world and in the light's name.

As her Templar training requires, Adriana moves herself away from society once a day for two hours for silent prayer. Depending on where she is, it may either be in a building or outside. The sole requirement however is -absolute- silence around her. Should the silence be breached amidst her prayer she will pack her things and move elsewhere to pray again. (If it's an enemy, she will engage in combat and if victoriously, leave the body to rot while continuing her prayers after.) She has no set time for when she prays, at latest it'll be around nine in the evening however. (Due to the new day starting in a few hours)

Adriana is not one to trust easily, she'd rather trust only herself. Some 'elite' few people however have stuck with her long enough, or have fought alongside her enough to earn the little trust she can give. She still keeps a watchful eye on those people but accepts them well enough in a fight for assistance. And as such, is willing to protect her companions with a surprisingly protective attitude. She'd rather take the risk of losing a limb, then risk losing a companion.

On top of all of this, inside this Templar lays the heart of a little gnome. Adriana has an undying love for engineering and technological advances, and as such always keeps herself up to date with latest breakthroughs. She's quite a tinker, always looking for ways to upgrade and protect her weaponry more. Nothing is ever 'perfect'. Everything can be made better, smoother, faster, louder and so on. She'd travel around the world, fighting evil and looking for parts in the strangest places whenever she could. She would risk life and limb for new technological parts or blueprints if it was obtainable near her main objective. (Main objective to slaughter evil whenever she sees it)

History

Silverpine, once a vast beautiful wood in Lordaeron's rugged western coast. You'd think that in such an environment, most families would live in a good and healthy condition. Such an illusion. Adriana her tale starts off in a poor shack, not even worthy of being called a home. Being the sole daughter in a family of six, a father, mother and three older brothers, Adriana struggled to get by each time 'dinner' was served. She had to fight for everything she wanted, including a 'dry' place to sleep in the shack.

Growing up for her was hard as all her clothes were too small, too torn and too filthy. Her family was one that stood outside society and lived quietly in said woods. She had no toys but one (Which was a rotten wooden doll that quickly fell apart), no friends, nothing to play with and was frequently sent into the countryside to 'gather' whatever she could find. Walking the roads she would try to find berries, fish or fruits. Her brothers would pick on the travelers on the road, getting their hands on whatever they could get from those strangers. Adriana observed, and would've learned if not morally burdened by their way of 'finding' items.

By the time of twelve, Adriana was a rather underweight child. Small, filthy, with short red hair that often contained dirt and twigs. Both brothers who by now were in the ages of seventeen and eighteen had picked their new target. A single man who wore simple clothes and rode a horse. Adriana was forced to participate by her brothers, being deemed fit to play the distraction on the road. Objections had shown her that she would simply get hit, either by her brothers or by her parents later on in the shack if she would fail to bring something home. So there she was lying on the road as the man dismounted his horse. Shivering and with eyes closed, she could hear the man stepping in with his words and boots.

The moment he kneeled down to observe the girl, he found his horse being taken away from him with his belongings still on it. Both brothers laughed as they rode off victoriously leaving Adriana behind whom instead of a distraction, had turned into bait by a sudden change of plans. Crawling back on the road, the tears rolled down her cheeks and she yelped out in fear. The man however stayed calm and simply watched his mount being taken away before turning his attention back to the girl. Stepping over, each inch he closed in made Adriana crawl back and eventually run for her life.

She ran, ran till her little legs couldn't take her any further. Not having looked back, she made her way back to the house with an increased heartbeat only to find the rest of her family celebrating and cheering. And as the girl stuck her head through the gap of what normally would've been a door to take a look, she realized none of them had missed her in any way. While more tears began to roll down the dirt covered girl's cheeks, she turned around again and planned to run off. Had somebody not stood in the way. The man had followed her home.

Instead of being angry, instead of speaking a word, he simply lifted the frightened girl up onto his arms and turned around. Walking back to the road and to the nearest town called Ambermill. There, he paid for a room with the little money he still had in his pockets as well as food and an actual drink and gave it all to Adriana. She had been frightened, she had shivered, she had cried on the man's shoulder but when she saw the food, she ate like never before. She had eaten till she had become so tired that she had fallen asleep right after on the table bench.

On the next morning, she found herself in the tavern room. Her face somewhat cleaned, an actual pair of pyjamas on. Waking up with the feeling as if the whole room was part of a dream, she walked to the nearest mirror that stood in the room and smiled for a first time since years. She had never looked prettier in those pink pants and shirt and in response to it began to dance around through the room. She kept dancing till the man of the last night came in, and near instantaneously crawled back into the corner with knees against her chest.

The man told her not to worry, and began explaining why he was not mad. Why she should not fear him, and even asked if she liked her new clothes. After a long talk, he offered to take her with him to a brighter future. A future where she could read, cast spells of unbelievable beauty, where she would be fed and could sleep in actual beds. A future where she never had to return home, to the family that had left her behind.

She accepted, and did so with a hug and dance. Adriana would go with the man she knew so little about still, and in the coming nine years after would learn how to read. She would learn all about the world, all about the light. She would learn the layout of the other lands, how to actually ride a horse and travel there. And day by day, the girl turned into a teenager. The teen into a young adult, and the young adult into a fully trained woman. She had been trained as a paladin, but deep inside felt it still was not enough. The man had taught her all she knew, the man had provided her with everything she needed over the years. But now she had to find her own way into the world.

That she did, and spend her next travel moving down from Silverpine to Ironforge with small stops here and there on the way. She didn't had much to give, but when called upon would follow her teachings and aid the people in any way she could. Her combat experience grew, but her lust for knowledge was not satisfied. Ending in Ironforge she found herself amazed by the height of the buildings. Standing still in a big city with a lot of people smaller than her didn't aid the awkward situation much, as by now she had only heard of dwarves and gnomes. Her eyes nearly fell out of her sockets when she saw the population of the city, and one gnome in particular stood out of the crowd. Perhaps by his attire, perhaps because he stood on a mailbox and shouted, or perhaps it was because of that thing in his hand.

He promised the latest ground breaking discovery, something that would amaze everyone and bring Ironforge to a whole new level. Whatever it might have been, it blew the gnome off the mailbox with an explosion and knocked him out cold. Adriana moved herself through the laughing crowd, and took the little guy to a nearby tavern. There she soon realized that the explosion hadn't only burned his eyelashes off, but perhaps had killed a few brain cells too as he took out one whacky experiment after the other.

She observed him and she listened to him which seemed to please the random gnome even more, and after a day she had found herself to be travelling with him to the city of wonders. Gnomeregan. And it truly was an amazing sight. It was absolutely nothing compared to the rotten doll she once had. Nearly everyone wore goggles, there were robots trashing about, random springs and bolt shooters, everything you could have ever imagined. As she stood idly gazing around, the small gnome walked on talking about his inventions and disappeared into the crowd. (To be never seen again during Adriana's stay in the city)

Adriana fell in love on the technology and despite being the tallest human around, she felt so small. She spend the next week within the city of Gnomeregan, exploring, browsing all the stores and trying to figure out what the gnomes meant half of the time. Apparently every gnome had made something amazing, and it was hard to pick things she wanted to take along with so little money. Eventually, she settled down on three things. One was a small mechanical puppet, which reminded her of the one she once had. One was a blueprint of something she felt like having a try at and the last one was a little ingenious box that contained twenty tools in one. Varying from a screwdriver to bone saw. She only realized later that it was all made to fit a gnome hand, and as such made the usage of the small tools rather difficult.

As the third war hit and the call was sounded for fighters, Adriana felt obliged to respond and as such teamed up as escort with of an to her unknown group. When Adriana saw them, she knew something was off about them as several had mysteriously glowing metallic eyes. The Paladin did not dare to ask as she had only received a brief education about these men. As they made their way to Soutshore and further to Theramore, she noticed that during the entire trip these men were quiet and tried to stay secluded on daily base for a few hours.

From Theramore Adriana with the forces went towards Mount Hyjal and there she witnessed the Templar's skill first hand. Her powers of a paladin had not faded over the years as she had practised, but with all the faith in the light she had, it seemed to be just a fraction of what the Templars possessed. Each spell she would cast would be dismissed by an even bigger spell by her allies. Each victim that fell to her mace would by then have fallen tenfold to the Templars. She was struck with amazement and disbelief, and after the massacre she gathered her courage to approach one of the men.

He at first sight dismissed her easily but she would not give up so fast. After having followed him for two days out of Hyjal and walking in his shadows, he spoke to her again. She was told to sell whatever she had, and live in poverty once more. Ardriana at first believed him to be kidding, but as she spend further days following him while not being able to make him talk, she submitted.

It was a heavy decision, one that brought back a lot of her former memories which at the moment of doing so got the best of her. Instead of lashing out, and being overtaken by her emotions, she went silent. Like her master, she would not speak for the next two weeks. Not a single word had been uttered or escaped her lips, regardless of where they were. It in the end, impressed her master enough to open up the path she sought. The silence of her tongue had been a test of faith and endurance, which she had passed.

Six months in isolation and away from the world, she learned the ways of the Templar. It was during that time she met the second associate of the man, a woman named Lexine. They trained a lot, both against and with each other, constantly being corrected and improved by the man. It also brought Adriana's competitive side into the play field, as after a while of not being able to match Lexine's skills, she had enough. She would train herself to the point of exhaustion, repeat her ways and rituals to the point of perfection, because she could not stand being second best any more. She had to be the best. She had to become a Templar.

It paid off, and the next stage for Adriana proved to be painful but simple in its deed. Her back was tattooed with one of the blackest of inks which is still visible today. While the act had proven to be simple, albeit painful, the meaning behind it was so much more. She fought with fire, a relentless fire that if not aimed with concentration would harm both her and her allies. And she knew this fire would never be extinguished.

Her last test was without a doubt the hardest one. A demon, an undead and a true evil being had to be slain. While the first was easily found in Felwood, and the second higher up in Tirisfal, both had left her drained. With the minimum of food she had eaten and taken with her, she was exhausted. But her mind would not give up, and as she wandered down the road of Tirisfal she found what she believed to be her last enemy. But was it truly? It was the Paladin who had trained her all those years ago, who she had listened to and who had shared his teachings with. It was him who had made this all possible, so she could not see through his lies.

He scolded at her, he broke her mind down and even as Adriana sat with her knees on the road, he would keep lashing out at her. Everything she had ever done had suddenly proved to be false, a mistake, a tragedy. The soon to be Templar did not understand, and would not understand till the fire within her had been nearly extinguished. In a last fit of rage she lifted her two handed sword and lashed out at the paladin. His body was cleaved into two, dropping to the floor before it simply vanished. She had passed, but it had left its mark.

She returned to her master to tell her tale, only realizing he had already moved on when she had gotten back to the training spot. Adriana would get no pat on the back from him, but she did find the other aspirant who had the same idea in her. Both had passed, and both would stay together for the years to come. Surprisingly, as they stayed together longer with the wariness at first of evil, they grew quite fond of each other. They fought together, and both had a love of technology which Adriana picked up when her new found training was done.

In the years to come, Adriana found herself conflicted by two things; her love for technology and her wish to purge the world of all evil. She found that dividing her time wasn't a real easy task, as each minute spend on slaying evil was a minute away from technology. Yet each minute upgrading her technology, was a minute in the world were evil would roam free. One night she snapped her fingers quietly and had realized what she should have realized a while ago; she combined both her wishes into one. She would fight evil with technology, satisfying both sides of the coin.

Her first step of it would begin with her short travel back to Ironforge. After six months of sole isolation during her training, Adriana figured her best way at finding both evil and technology would be by going to the nearest city for the news. She would find the city to be still in its rowdy state with the exception that many gnomes had moved in after the fall of Gnomeregan. Not being able to help herself, she visited some of the new local gnome shops with their gizmo's and gadgets before being held back from leaving. The store owner was the same gnome that she had met in the past and while Adriana did not recognize him at first, he recognized her.

He would share the story of the fall of Gnomeregan and how he had barely escaped but not after having recovered a prototype of a semi-automatic sword. With the lack of parts, he had only managed to create one in his spare time and offered it to Adriana (for a small price) for a testing run. With some quick adjustments she was set and took the mechanical prototype with her on her travels. She agreed on returning every once in a while for upgrades and to discuss any problems with the weapon. By doing so, Adriana learned a thing or two about engineering as well and while all her stops were brief, she made sure to return frequently. Admittedly, she was forced to carry parts with her and repair the blade more than it was worth during the first experiments but over the course of time, she got a real liking to it.

As the first blade had proven to be effective in terms of combat and an aggravation in terms of durability, Adriana slowly managed to upgrade and break it numerous times on her travels. Despite company, she could never find herself to sit still and lay down for rest. She just needed to have something to work on when planning her next move or trip. Her travels took her throughout the world as she explored and fought numerous demons with her companion. Evil was everywhere, and at times evil carried parts that when cleaned could be of use.

A fallen gnome footman in Northrend that had been raised as a Scourge carried the pistol she still uses today. Adriana planned to at first destroy the weapon entirely but as she observed the former-Sergeant's weapon she found out that the parts were highly advanced. Instead of destroying it she cleansed it with the light, before slowly picking it apart piece by piece. Rotten parts of the gun were removed and replaced, and other ones were cleaned. By constantly tinkering on her travels, Adriana her engineering capabilities improved bit by bit.

For the next several years she and Lexine fought together but eventually parted ways briefly before Northrend. As Adriana was busy keeping the scourge at bay with her two experimental weapons, her wits were tested whenever they failed. Both weapons had been proven to be useful in the end, as they had saved her life more than once. Though she also realized the danger of them malfunctioning as during a skirmish she had nearly paid for them with her life, the scar on her jaw still proof she carries with her today. Upon the next day, she would find her armor to be modified with an grinning Lexine next to it. She was told to 'flick the switch' when Lexine told her to do so, and after nearly burning her own eyelashes off (so to speak, and hitting Lexine's head upon the next opportunity) she found her new found side-arm to be working.

After the Lich King was taken down, Adriana and Lexine parted ways to follow their own paths. Adriana stayed within Northrend to fight and swap up the remains of the Scourge only to have recently returned to the Eastern Kingdoms when she no longer saw the danger. Believing her skills were best placed to the test elsewhere. Against all odds, she ran into Lexine again who had found experimental technology of her own. A goblin rocket pack which is still in its beta phase, prone to many mechanical failures and mishaps which Adriana has been experiencing for the last couple of weeks.
