Personality

Zinkilios does often act or speak without thinking, though deep down, he doesn't mean any harm. He's a hearty Dwarf with a strange sense of humour. Most people just mutter "Dwarves..." and leave him to himself, he's often misunderstood. He's very proud of being a Dwarf, and speaks to other Dwarves like he'd known them all life. Nightelves on the other hand are disliked, mostly because he doesn't know much about them. Like most Dwarves he's quite a drinker, and spends a lot of gold and time in taverns. He's always looking for an adventure. For the right reasons he can help anyone. Even though he's somewhat unpredictable you can still be sure that he's a dwarf you can trust. He believes in the light, but he also believes that you don't get anything for free. Light won't provide for you, Light will only guide you.

History

Zinkilios was born and raised in Loch Modan, there wasn't anything typical about his childhood. His father was a Mountaineer stationed in Thelsamar. And his mother made a living by fishing in The Loch. That way Zinkilios was often left without anyone to look after him. He often made trips to a nearby Kobold infested mine, where he threw stones at stragglers and ran away laughing.

The year Zinkilios would turn 35 his parents kicked him out. The main reason was that he "didn't earn his keep", he just strolled around and never did anything good. So Zinkilios set off for Ironforge, thinking that he should be able to find some work. He arrived in Ironforge hungry and thirsty, he decided to find a Tavern. It was closed because of the late hour, but where Zinkilios had grown up the Inn had always been open. Not knowing the difference between Taverns and Inns he went straight in through an open window. Of course he was taken for trespassing. He was judged to community service, since he had no money to pay the bill. The Dwarf started out in a mine, but after a few days he became very ill. He wasn't used to be underground in such warm and dusty places (Raised in Loch Modan).

Zinkilios was taken to the Mystical Ward where he was cured and had to continue his community service in the library, repairing books, and making sure they were in the right shelf. That way he realised that his true call was The Paladin, everything written in the books made perfect sense. All life he had been laying around, been taken care of, having a good time. Out there were helpless people being slain by the horde, undeads the list just went on. He decided to work hard, he wanted to help his people. Upon finishing his sentence he became a Paladin apprentice. At first the Paladins were reluctant to make him their apprenctice, Zinkilios didn't just have one master, he had several. But after convincing them that he really, really wanted to join them, they couldn't refuse him to atleast give it a try.

At first, it all seemed to go well, Zinkilios had no problems handling weapons, in truth, it felt very natural for him. He became very skilled in hand to hand combat, axes, maces and swords. The Virtues on the other hand was harder to adept to. Respect, Compassion. and Tenacity. Respect was something Zinkilios never had shown to anyone, not to his parents or towards the Dwarves in Thelsamar. Compassion was something Zinkilios taught he had fully understood, and maybe he did, but he rarely did consider it when his masters painted up scenarios, he often failed at doing the right thing and his masters often glared angrily at him. Tenacity on the other hand was something he showed mulitply times, most of his masters didn't think he'd make it to be a paladin, sure a good warrior, but no paladin. It was only through Tenacity, by hard studdying and hard work Zinkilios was able to fully understand the three virtues. Or atleast have the slightest grasp of them. Hadn't it been for his stubborness in learning the virtues he would've been kicked out from the Mystical Ward quite early. But by the time he ended his apprenticeship, his masters were proud of him. Zinkilios graduated as a weapon specialised Paladin.

He never went back to look for his parents, he went out into the world... To see what he could do for his kind.

For several years he travelled around the Dwarven kingdom, Wetlands, Dun Modan, he even once carried a message to Southshore. But he couldn't make peace with his mind. He signed for ten years in the Kul Tiras Marines and went with the navy to Kalimdor, he almost got himself killed several times fighting orcs, taurens, trolls and scourge.

But somehow he survived, after the peace treaty had been made between the orcs, taurens and the trolls, he had helped in the construction of Theramore Island. And shortly after that he was dismissed. He went back to Ironforge as an honoured war hero. Still not finding any peace in is mind, he wander the world trying to give a helping hand where ever he can.
