History

William grew up at Eastvale Logging Camp, his parents being hired labourers, William grew up amongst safe enviroment outside the citywalls. From a young age, William learned to handle common tools such an axe, a hammer and even before the age of ten William had already become quite the handyman. His parents, getting older, were less and less efficient at wood cutting so they were moved onto less important occupations, after all, the camp paid for hard days work not for swinging an axe without a good result. So, responsibility was dropped upon William from a young age. Although his parents took pride in the fact that William had grown up so fast and was alone almost as efficient as them both put together, there was no fooling one self, youth had been deprived from this young man.

William didnt mind physical labour, he was often complimented for it and the residents at the Camp were proud of the little boy who worked hard to make bread worth while. For a good two years William was the favorite woodcutter of the whole camp, learning what not wisdoms from the elders, often told stories of the outside world and the creatures that lurked beyond the borders outside human lands... Weird thing was, as much as these stories were fun for William to listen, they did not arouse any kind of passion in him, he didnt feel the urge to be a knight in shining armor, a daring adventurer that takes on the whole world and saves damsels in distress, no, these things never even crossed his mind... he was too busy working.

It was his 10th birthday that proved to be a day of many experiences for William. The instant he woke up, he was greeted by other residents of the camp, singing and cheering for the boy who had reached the age of a young adult. His father, sick as unlucky it was, began the day by telling William about the changes he would face in the upcoming years.. it would be the time when he would grow to be a man! William sat patiently and listened to his father, hearing all the stories and words that he would usher out. William tried to remember everything his father said, starting from the responsibilities he would have and all the morning he listened, up to the discussion of how his thoughts would be the final definition of who he is and the people closest to him would be the things that he will be remembered for. It was the first time William felt there would be more to life than swinging an axe and carrying pieces of wood.

After breakfast, William was called outside where there was horsecart, filled with wood and ready to leave. William was told that today he was to accompany the woodhaulers on their route to Goldshire and Stormwind, it was the first time in Williams life when he would be actually leaving the surrounding are of the camp!

It was the best day in this young mans life! The trip to Goldshire took the rest of the morning and long into the afternoon and William was all questions during that trip. The woodhaulers would tell William everything he asked and occasionally laughed at his odd questions. Young William was struck hard by each new thing he saw, he was carefull to blink his eyes just in case not to miss anything! And as the gates of Stormwind were passed, young William had become near incapacitated, adrenaline flushing thru him and his hands shaking William felt like he was in a different world. The Woodhaulers didnt want Williams help in unloading the cargo but they warned William not to venture far, should he get lost. . . it would be hard to find him.

And the next day, when the horsecart returned from its trip, it was bearing news of ill nature not many parents could ever bear... Young William Steel was never seen in Eastvale Logging Camp again.

Years passed, the brokens hearts of the Steel family were never healed and as time took what it owned, the labourers of Eastvale Logging Camp changed as the old ones passed away... and the sad story of the Steel family was forgotten.

Many a year later, the new woodhaulers were wondering upon a curious sight at the center of the trade district of Stormwind. They saw a dwarf dragging a young man from the orphange, about 20 years old, shouting and kicking for his life... The Woodhaulers were amused by the sight and wondered the fate of the young man...
