Personality

Volthorn is a narcissistic, egocentric and proud man that is driven by his passion for his homeland. He sees himself as the savior of his lost people, destined to lead the new Kingdom of Alterac.

Volthorn's greatest inspiration for this feeling of pride comes from the two great man he is named after, his grandfather and his great grandfather, he respects them more then anything else. As such he takes great pride in his noble roots and will do anything to protect the name of his family from those that would try to befoul it.

Volthorn strongly believes that the Humans are the superior race above all others. Every human he meets he will be friendly to. While he, for political reasons, can't yell at every other race he meets, he would if he could, he feels it is his duty to inform the lesser races of their inferiority to the humans.

History

I suppose I should start at the beginning, as that is where all the stories of greatness begin. I was ofcourse, born in the great Kingdom of Alterac as the second son of Lord Daedelyn Blackwind and his peasant wife Osilia Hawkflight. I was told by my grandfather Lord Ademas Blackwind that I was quite unruly as a child, because “I was already stronger as a child then my father and his peasant excuse for a wife” as he put it. We were never to fond of the woman, grandfather and I. She was an infection on the noble branch of our family tree. Generations of noble marriages ruined, because of that one insolent wench! It was a good thing she died, before her infectious grip over my father had a chance to spread to the other branches.

My father would disagree though, poor man went mad after she passed away after the birth of my sister. I was six at the time, so I don't remember much of what happened. Luckily my grandfather kept a strong presence in our mansion. He was able to take back Lordship over our lands, for under the leadership of my mad father we would've surely fallen. He was to soft, my father, did not know what was good for the peasants. My grandfather, now that is a leader, he did not hesitate once when he took Lordship over our lands. For the first time after my mother had passed, our family prospered again.

I am truly grateful for my grandfather's presence when I grew up, the wise man taught me every important lesson in life. He taught me all about our noble roots and how they must be preserved for the family to prosper. He taught me our noble family history, of my great grandfather Lord Taindalyn Blackwind, the great warrior who brought glory to our family name. But most importantly... He taught me about survival, how we Blackwinds must do what is necessary to secure our righteous place in society. He personally, instructed me in the art of combat, as he had been taught by my great father.

My siblings were'nt as grateful as I was for my grandfather's presence though. Ungrateful bastards dared question his methods. They claimed the peasants were suffering from his harsh taxes. Lies and slander naturally! They did not realize the grandeur behind great father's leadership, they did not see the subtlety with which he prevented uprising. He gave them just enough space to be the mere peasants they are but did not gave them so much that they wanted more. He knew exactly how to handle things, my grandfather.

It is a shame all his hard work was ruined by our foolish King. After his grand betrayal, we lost our mansion, we lost our title and most importantly we lost our Kingdom. I can still see the burning lands as we were forced to fled our Kingdom. Our beautifull mansion, where I grew up to become a young man, completely covered in hot red flames of betrayal. I lost my Grandfather there, the one man I looked up to could not stand to leave our mansion behind. He urged me to take young Isabelle to safer lands, where she might grow up away from the corrupting influence of my drunken father. So I did, unfortunately the pig and my other sister came with. My older brother stayed behind in the Arathi Highlands, whereas we boarded a carriage heading for the Kingdom of Stormwind.

Because the noble city of Stormwind still lay in ruins, we had to make due with Westfall. It was here that the dagger of betrayal was driven even further into my back. My sister, Marissa, married a peasant! That foul wench abandoned her noble name to live the life of a peasant! And even worse, that drunken excuse for a father of mine, accepted it! Rarely have I felt such burning anger inside me. I knew from this moment I had to break free of this family. As soon as the capital, Stormwind, had been rebuild I left the pathetic excuse for a house we had lived in for all those years and headed to Stormwind. I took my darling sister, Isabelle, with me. Inside the walls of this magnificent city that I managed to build quite a reputation for myself. Through my hard work, the clever use of my Blackwind charm and the hearts of many a noble woman, I had managed to become a respected member of society once more.

My darling sister and I reaped the rewards of my hard work, our house was once again proper, our clothes were woven with the finest of silks and we had strong ties to some very influential people in Stormwind.. We were at the place our family belonged. But the more time I spent in the Kingdom of Stormwind, the more I began to ache for my homeland. I felt it calling to me, it's beautiful mountains, it's greenest of green fields, it needed to be restored. And who better answer this calling then me? I knew that I was destined for something great, this had to be it. I... would become the new King of Alterac. And so, my dear citizens, I began my journey to Kinghood.
