A broken man who still manages to remain larger than life, Viegraff has always been a symbol of unshakable resolve to those around him as they liken him to a 'wall undeterred'. There are four places you would most likely bump into Viegraff and these are by the sea, in the tavern, with his men or hidden (Good luck with finding a hiding bandit). He treats the sea as a 'place to sleep', a relaxing place where the sounds of the water communicates with him and there are no words needed, while the local tavern in contrast as a place to enjoy himself along with his mates. He is a cautious man for a bandit and it took years for him to get to where he is among Blackthorn's Bandits, as he prefers not to give in to big and dangerous risks and would rather bide his time safely. While this personality of his often saved his life, there were also times when it would be a hindrance. Thinking through too much would often keep his mind occupied instead of delivering quick results and thus he wasn't really the decisive opportunity-grabber. As part of the crew during his time in the navy, he usually predicted most of the politics or the army movements before his crew members could, but kept it to himself due to his doubt. Most of the time this led him to trouble however, especially when the situation called for quick decisive thinking. While he does understand why hardships happen as it is a part of life, he does know that governments and government officials often would prioritize the peasantry last and thus, he is a filibuster at heart.

As with most of the other citizens of Kul Tiras, he despises orcs more than undead, especially for what they did to Kul Tiras during the Second War. He views the Forsaken as merely an undead version of Lordaeron and thus, respects them in that way. He has no room for sympathy and looks at people based on their abilities and traits. In this aspect, he does not harbor any racial prejudice against any races but he does sneer at those people without any outstanding talents. He especially hates the noble youth who thinks they can achieve anything with the money their parents give them, and often these are the people that fuel him into crime and thievery further.

In combat, he would prefer to strike at the enemy's heel with most of his entourage taking their enemy head on. Though he always wields his blade for self-defense and intimidation purposes, he would most likely be using a simple bandit's mace during raids on travelling caravans, preferring to merely strip his victims of all their belongings rather than killing them outright. While he does prefer to weaken the enemy bit by bit by as much ploys as he can execute before the battle even starts, he is not afraid to get down and dirty when all else fails and does not let defeat hamper his confidence (Or lack of it) as a strategist and as a soldier. The secret to his longevity, unlike most of the bandits in the area is that he knows how to play his cards right and knows when to lose and when to retreat, not preferring to take big risks in all-out battles.

It is said that his combat abilities would match that of a fourth-finger SI:7 Operative.

History

Born John Viegraff Scagliano to the Scagliano merchant family as an only child in Boralus, Viegraff's childhood was spent under the cold grip of chaos. As much as his family wanted him to continue family business, he was pretty much roused to patriotism and to the war effort by most of his neighbors and friends. Every corner of the streets of Boralus seemed to be chanting the name 'Proudmoore' and his acts of leadership and heroism.

The most important thing he learned however is that every victory had a price. He saw this as each passing month, his friends came to him and told him each about their lost family members. As much as he loves his family and holds them close to his heart, these stories tore him apart and was afraid of losing his family in the same way; as a war casualty. Vowing never to see that day, he and a few of his friends decided to enlist in the marines at the age of 20. On the day they were assigned to leave for war, his father tried to stop him, begging him to come home and live a peaceful life. Viegraff smiled at his father, telling his father that he did not want to see his family die in front of him like so many families had experienced. He joined the navy both to prevent the war from reaching the shores of Boralus, and to live his life to the fullest on the battlefield, to fight and die on his father and mother's arms instead of the other way around.

After serving in the Marines, he and his compatriots knew that they would never be compensated by the weakened hold of the Alliance in Kalimdor, and like most disgruntled men, came home almost penniless and empty handed. Not wanting to show his face to his family for the failure, he decided to go to Lordaeron with the few surviving men that he deserted Tiragarde with. Here they would stumble upon wandering hedge wizards, vagabonds and eventually Blackthorn's group of bandits who stood above the rest. among Blackthorn's Bandits, he would further grow not only physically but as a man trying to make a living in the harsh times. Every raid on a caravan or a village would make him tempered like steel with the fires of the burning houses that he engulfed in flames. Amongst the lowest of the low, he learned honor and camaraderie. It was a fellowship of free spirits serving only themselves and spitting on the governments who serve only themselves, likewise. All this changed when a new fledgling faction arose in Lordaeron; The Forsaken. As they were assimilated into the Forsaken Faction due to Blackthorn's changed personality and character, they would focus less and less on empowering themselves and would give themselves up almost fully to the whims of the new Queen of Lordaeron.

Months of enduring the worst among their undead brethren put Viegraff on the rocks, with most of the bandits being killed and reanimated or fed with the plague of undeath to become true Forsaken Deathstalkers. It was then that he decided to start serving himself again along with the few disgruntled bandits that wanted to be once more independent, serving no one but himself. Instead of carrying out his mission to patrol Silverpine, he and the group of free-willed lions escaped barely the clutches of the undead loyal to the Queen. He has not been heard of until this day.
