Personality

Vexiph picked up magic in her childhood. After some time of using it and learning to control her abilities, the magic 'changed' her personality into what it is right now. She is currently very studious overall. Someone close to her would soon know that she's also very competitive, verging on vindictive at times. While Vexiph is one to hold grudges for extended amounts of times, these are feelings that she mostly keeps to herself. She hardly ever acts on her desire for vengeance, mostly because of her fear of defeat or loss in the process. When faced with dangerous situations not in her control, Vexiph is a natural coward. Otherwise, when she is in control of a given situation, she’s more so bold.

History

Born in the Kingdom of Quel'thalas, Vexiph was surrounded by a moderately-sized merchant and crafting family. She would often accompany her family members on trips to the distant lands of the human kingdoms. With both societies practicing magic, she became highly determined at a young age to learn to control the arcane herself someday like the many Elves of Quel’thalas.

After some time, she soon decided to act on this ambition of hers and soon began studying to try and learn what she could. As a High Elf, magic came somewhat naturally for her and many of the others that were training at the time. During her training, she learned what she would want to do with her abilities as a future mage. Vexiph’s great-grandfather further sparked her interest, and she soon became fascinated with his tales of his past.

He told stories of his adventures combatting forest trolls. Time and time again, his stories came across as heroic and something that Vexiph soon aspired towards. These countless tales soon led to her wishing to lend her support to Quel'thalas as well. After a great deal of his stories, she'd soon focus almost all of her time into bettering her abilities as a potential magister. Her great-grandfather was there to assist and mentor her along the way.

When the Second War came, Vexiph entered the promising ranks of the Alliance army to help assist against the Orcish invaders. Her career with the forces of the Alliance was short lived. Early on, she was dismissed for her “spinelessness” in battle, according to her superiors. Humiliated, Vexiph left behind the Second War and continued to train as a mage. Later, after the end of the conflict, she was overly relieved that the Quel’dorei had parted from the Alliance.

Vexiph’s father had left home during the Third War to assist the Humans in repelling the undead. She was not happy with her father supporting the Humans, but there was nothing she could do to stop him. When he returned, Stratholme had already been lost and her father left the city behind. To rid himself from the thoughts of the lives lost, he took his family and Vexiph to sea for a form of “vacation” and to forget about the issue.

During their small time spent out at sea, a feeling crept over Vexiph and even others of her family. The overwhelming feeling grew stronger and stronger in them, and they soon were forced to return home. When they returned, they found the kingdom of Quel’thalas in ruin from the Scourge attacks. With the fall of the Sunwell, the vast majority of the Quel’dorei had gone into withdrawal from its loss. This was something clearly visible in Vexiph. Before long, the new outlet of fel magic was introduced.

Fel magic was refreshing for her and the others. Vexiph welcomed the new source of power. With her newfound physical characteristics tainted by the new medium, Vexiph continued to further her training once the region stabilized. What was fueling her advancement was now a very deep need for vengeance upon the Scourge in her own ways.

Vexiph began to help her pick up the pieces and rebuild what had been lost as she trained. Slowly, she had gained more courage, power, and determination. But she was devastated by the loss suffered during the Shattering later. In the beginnings of the devastation, Vexiph’s mother was taken victim by the forces of Deathwing.
