Usual Garments/Armor: Vedis wears the typical black and red plate armor of a Blood Knight, the only exception is that his chestplate has the head of a rose, his family crest, engraved onto the chest area. While usually found in plate armor while on duty, Vedis has been seen with a knee length black overcoat draped over his armor. While off duty, the man's clothes are a constant reminder of his status. The cloths that he wears are fine, much more expensive than what most in the city would buy. On his right middle finger, he wears a mithril signet ring with the same rose engraved into it.

Personality

Calm and apathetic, since birth the man has been told countless times to hold in his emotions. While seemingly indifferent and without a firm opinion on many things, the man simply prefers to keep his thoughts to himself until necessary. Vedis is quite proud of his heritage and status and will often become offended if not addressed properly, especially by those he deems of 'lower class'. He adheres strictly to the law and strives to be an example to his subordinates, or under his rule. Because of this, he will often assign overly harsh punishments to those who carry disrespect for authority and show disdain for the rules and regulations. As a result of this, he strongly discourages the use of assassins while dealing with business, though he doesn't seem to mind subterfuge. Despite his off-putting personality, this serves as a cover for a softer side to him. He genuinely cares about his subordinates and will often go out of his way to help them out or make life a little easier for them. Ironically, while he thinks about their well-being, he is also quick to forget, often forcing his butlers and subordinates to 'help out' with paperwork while he goes relax or paint.

History

Born into the Scorchblood family, Vedis was the tenth generation and his father made his situation clear at an early age. He was constantly accompanied by guards which resulted in his peers refusing to play with the young boy. It was at this early age, which he managed to make his first friend. Seline, the daughter of the village's tailor. The young girl welcomed him with open arms despite his guards, offering to play with him constantly. It was during his earlier years, that he got his characteristic pair of red beads in his hair. She had arranged for them to meet at the tree where they always played, but this time Vedis had been kept in by his father. Despite his begging to be allowed out to play, his father was staunch on keeping his son inside to study. Unwilling to disobey his father, Vedis reluctantly stayed in for the day in order to read, and study. The next day, the entire village was in dissaray and chaos. Seline had never went back home, and her parents were distraught at the loss of their daughter. Vedis, terrified, ran as fast as he could to their meeting area. As he arrived, the child's eyes blurred with tears as he thought of the worst possible outcome before the guards gestured over to a small huddled shape by the tree. Seline had fallen asleep against the tree as she waited for him, a small bag of colored beads by her side. Vedis strung the beads into a lock of her hair, adorning a lock of his own hair with two red beads before his guards carried her back to the village.

As time passed, their friendship only grew stronger. Vedis grew into a strong young man, given responsibility over his family's numerous businesses. Seline inherited her parent's shop, with Vedis frequently making visits to buy clothes. His father, fearing that Vedis would try to court her, sent him to Lordaeron under the guise of 'improving relationships with the noble houses in Lordaeron', in hopes that time apart would calm things down. Unfortunately, only after a few years after his arrival, the Orcs invaded and the Second War began. Thrust into a very unfamiliar lifestyle, Vedis decided to put his years of study into use, becoming a tactician for the army. It was during the winter time when he received his trench coat that he's so fond of wearing over his armor. He had never really bonded with the humans that he worked alongside with, and often went straight to the rented house after he had finished up for the day. That day, he had to stay up later than usual and was dismissed early morning. Vedis quickly regretted not bringing something thicker with him, his silken jacket hardly suitable for Lordaeron's winter nights. One of his colleagues, a fat drunkard as Vedis refered him to, saw the shivering Elf making his way home by himself. The man made his way over to Vedis, draping his over coat around the Elf's shoulders and walked away wordlessly. This event caused Vedis to open up to his colleagues afterwards. The man's death from an Orcish raid caused Vedis to continue to wear the coat, even after his return to Silvermoon.

After the Second War, Vedis returned to Silvermoon a changed man. The years of watching countless soldiers come back maimed or wounded caused him to become withdrawn and quiet. While his duties did not require him to socialize frequently, his change in behavior scared his family as well as Seline. It took a few years of constant prodding and time between the two before he finally opened up to her, recounting the horror he felt while having to send people to their deaths. Just as his father had feared, the young man had fallen in love with his friend. Despite his family's refusal for him to be with her, for fear of being looked down on by the other noble houses, Vedis persisted and proved to be stubborn and continued to court her. Eventually, courting gave way to a proposal, and they were wedded. It was on their first year of being married that the Scourge attacked, and his life was turned upside down.

When news first came to them of the wave of undead soldiers advancing, the manor erupted with panic and terror. Eventually, his father managed to calm everyone down enough to organize their escape. Vedis was seperated from Seline in the ensuing chaos and had to flee with his mother and four other guards. Four days passed by slowly as the small group hid in the woods, attempting to hide from any wandering undead soldiers. It was during this time that Vedis felt a hollow emptiness inside of him, as if something had been removed. He met up with his father again, and learned of two sickening pieces of news. With the Sunwell gone, their race as a whole was starting to suffer the debilitating effects of magic addiction. The second was that Seline had been split up from the rest of the group during their escape. Vedis' heart was filled with terror as he demanded to find her, his father grudgingly allowing his son to go search along with a handful of guards. They eventually found her mangled body, she had been attacked by ghoul but managed to escape. Vedis took her back to the others, finding a medic that was willing to heal her.

While his father and the rest of his family sent funds to help rebuild Silvermoon, Vedis was preoccupied with finding sources of residual magic and mana poitions to keep his and Seline's addiction at bay. They got by, barely, until one day he came back to find the door broken into. A ragged looking mage sat on the bed in which Seline should've lay, her body having been drained dry by the half-crazed mage was tossed into a corner. Overcome with rage, Vedis smashed the mage's head against the wall before beating him to death. As the city was rebuilt, Vedis spent the majority of his time secluded inside his newly rebuilt manor. One day, word reached him of Kael'thas bringing back a creature called a Naaru. They would be able to access the Light, and with that power in their hands a new order was born known as the Blood Knights. Vedis found himself wanting of that power, the power to be able to heal and give life to his loved ones. He was one of the first few to offer his services, honing his body and mind with rigorous and intense training. When Kael'thas sent his forces to steal the Naaru back, Vedis was outraged at the betrayal. He joined forces with the Scryers and Aldor, fighting at Tempest Keep with races he never thought he would work with.

As Kael'thas was defeated at Tempest Keep, Vedis was sent back to Silvermoon. It was then that he was rewarded for his hard work and bravery with being promoted to the rank of Master Knight. While his promotion in the Blood Knights had already surprised him, his father, hearing news of his promotion decided to step down from being head of the house and passed on the title to Vedis. Now officially head of the house, the man quickly got rid of most of the assassins employed by the Scorchblood house. Life seemed to be finally going right, until news of Kael'thas' return and assault on Quel'danas surfaced. Forced to temporarily leave his father in charge again, Vedis joined up with the other Blood Knights that were fighting Kael'thas' forces at the Sunwell's island. At the end of the battle, Vedis' eyes filled with tears as the Sunwell was reignited.

Ever since then, he's simply preferred to stay in Silvermoon, frequently taking time off and letting his butlers and subordinates handle his paperwork while he goes on 'public relationship' and 'soul searching' missions. Even with the news of the war in Northrend, the man didn't feel it was necessary for him to go up to the frozen North in order to exact his long overdue revenge on the forces of Undead.

Skills and Abilities

A skilled swordsman, years of combat has helped Vedis become fluent in different forms of combat. He is capable of blending in offensive spells as well as swordsmanship, and even occasional shield bashes to throw his opponent off guard. He practices fencing in his free time, and as such, if unrestricted by heavy armor is quite nimble. Outside of combat, the man is a fond artist and often enjoys painting pictures of Eversong's scenery. Additionally, because of his nobility, he has access to a vast family fortune. He has also shown himself to be skilled in manipulating the Light, being capable of molding his blasts into the form of small arrows. These arrows don't have any benefits, simply being aesthetically appealing to him.
