Personality

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Vaylon withholds most aspects of nobility. He is proud, selfish, arrogant at times, and respectful otherwise. His policies can range from kind to brutal. Whatever aids him the most, is the side he will take.

Being the youngest of the Hawke family, he's always looking to prove himself as a tactical and combative soldier. Always in his elder brother's shadow, he will take any path that will lead him to new power or glory.

Romantic interests are at a low, as he has accepted his brand as a warlock in which women will most likely stay away from. He does not carry the swagger of a certain Tavern Black, nor does he have a great interest in women laid upon his bed. He is business-minded, relationships and personal affairs come second.

There are situations when he is actively using fel where he will adopt the brutal intellect of your average Fel Guard. Cunning in battle, attacks without mercy, victory or death. This can change his entire personal make-up until the battle has ceased, or until he has been downed.

History

The Hawke family was deemed among the nobles of Alterac. Vaylon's father, Jacob Hawke, had many plantations that helped feed the mountain nation. Without having to pay taxes for buying bread and vegetables from outside nations, the Hawke family reaped massive amounts of coin, and even went on to export some of their food to villages like Southshore and Brill.

Vaylon was born shortly before the Second War, where he was showered with wealth and affection by his mother and her friends. He wore the best outfits, the cutest hats, the awesome little fuzzy boots. Regardless, when the Horde attacked once more, his father was all for the Alliance pact between the seven nations. Vaylon's brother, Darion, was still a young child at the time.

Jacob knew about Alterac's dealings with the Horde mid-way into the war, which led him to uproot his family and flee to Lordaeron for their safety to wait and see if Alterac was shown its true colors. Sure enough, they did, and caused the entire nation to feel the wrath of the Alliance once the orcs were dealt with.

With the family's wealth and reputation on the line, Jacob Hawke pledged his loyalty to Lordaeron's flag, and gave up his land titles to the crown. The gesture saved part of their gold, but ended with their farms and estate gone. With the money left over, Vaylon was sent to Dalaran when he was of age to attend. Darion was kept to become a Knight of Lordaeron, and to be taught directly by their father as he was the heir to the family.

While studying arcane in Dalaran, Vaylon left the grand city for a midnight stroll, as he visited what remains of Alterac city. Curious about his past, he searched the charred ruins to find an old orc hermit living in one of the destroyed buildings. In fright, Vaylon quickly set the elderly warlock ablaze with arcane fire. After the orc stopped moving, Vaylon searched the make-shift hut to find strange runes and a taint of foul, but powerful magic. He took all the ancient tomes, scrolls, and runes and departed with the knowledge of Fel.

The years leading up to the Third War, Vaylon studied this strange method of using arcane in secret. He left Dalaran along with his family as they moved to the recently rebuilt Stormwind to start their life anew with the farms in Westfall. Vaylon had other plans, avoiding the Third War as he studied among the coven of warlocks under the city. His family knew of his practice, but did not frown upon it. Jacob even provided funds for Vaylon to conduct more hands-on research.

After the Third War, and amidst the chaos that followed, Vaylon found word of a new movement to reclaim Alterac for those who remained loyal to the Alliance. Vaylon pleaded to his family to provide aid and support to this faction, but his father rather invest in the southern nation as their new home. Frustrated, Vaylon departed on his own will to join the Falconguard.

Now, among their ranks, Vaylon seeks personal glory and power within the faction, and hopes of finally taking back what was his.
