Personality

Valius could be described as a caring, yet stubborn person. He would rather travel the width of the world twice than let anything happen to the things, or people, he holds dear. That very same devotion can make him often come off as rude or uncaring. Approaching him with such claims can do more than just irritate him, often starting a loud discussion or even a fight. The only things he nearly never defies, are Kaldorei traditions. Should he come across an elf, or a member of another race, that doesn't respect more than ten thousand years of culture, he'd be quick to give them a lesson, and not always nicely. In short, Valius is an Elf who lives his life on traditions and emotions, often causing conflicts between the two.

History

Valius was born in Ashenvale, close to it's border with The Barrens. Because of that, his everyday life was filled with Sentinels and their doings. From an early age, Valius was taught to respect Kaldorei culture and traditions, the Sentinels and women in general. Those very same teachings would stick with him for hundreds of years to come.

His father was a druid who, like most other druids, spent the majority of his time in The Emerald Dream. That didn't mean, however, that he didn't ever meet Valius. Whenever his father was awake, Valius would accompany him into the forests for long talks and discussions, most ending with his father praising the Druidic ways and virtues. Valius never did pick up druidism, an action that would eventually create a rift between him and his father.

Upon reaching adulthood, Valius understood that his father had given up on teaching him Druidism, and he was glad. Even though it meant that there would be something always missing from their talks, it gave him more freedom in deciding what to do. He had been, for some time, practicing metalworking, mostly in the form of creating small jewelry or sharpening weapons. However, he didn't do it only because of the crafting, no, access to weaponry gave him the chance to accompany the hunters and/or gatherers on their trips.

Years passed and life was good, with the exception of several misunderstandings between Valius and his father, most of which were based on Valius' choice to not become a druid. Several heated discussions and conflicts later, Valius had actually decided to prove a point to his father by declaring his disgust towards the druids. Needless to say, his father was not amused and even though it had been caused by a momentary loss of self-control, Valius' father left him for good. Shocked at what he had said to the person he -actually- did look up to the most, Valius was at a crossroads between his emotions and traditions. Without hesitation, Valius promised himself to always think his actions over, something he'd struggle with for the rest of his life.

The Third War brought change to Ashenvale and thus, to Valius' life. The scourge, large-scale combat and the demons were all new to Valius, and they scared him. Unable to go to his father, the usual source of answers, for help, Valius simply hid from the world. He found himself in what is known as Auberdine. As the battle ravaged across the forests, Valius couldn't help but be intrigued by everything that was happening. Seeing some of the fighting here and there, he got a pretty good idea of who the enemies of the Night Elven race were: Demons, Undead, Humans, Orcs and everything that came with the lot. It was quite a surprise to him when near the end of the war, and after it, he was supposedly allied to "The Alliance". He didn't like it.

As the years after all the fighting went by, Valius struggles with accepting everything that's going on in the world. The lessons about Elven culture are still fresh in his head, forsaking his traditions is definitely not something he would want to do. More and more of the foreigners' ways is seeping into the forests, how should he react to all the changes? In short, Valius' small world suddenly became a whole lot bigger and finding a balanced location for him to stand, is something he wishes to do fast.
