History

Tun'kar

Tun'kar was born just before the Orcs were placed into the Lordaeron camps. His father died in battle shortly after, and his mother died protecting her children as the humans came to round up the remaining Orcs. He was shipped off along with his older sister Tun'kala to what is now Hammerfall. Confused and scared, Tun'kar spent many of his young nights in his sister's arms, not knowing what was happening around them. She promised the young Orc that she'd keep him safe, and she often put together small gifts for him from whatever she could find, whether it be stones she found around the camp, flowers, and clothes she made herself. Tun'kala did her best to make sure the camps did not feel like a prison to him, but eventually the Humans put the rather large Orc to work. He chopped lumber and pulled heavy carts, adding muscle as his teen years progressed.

When he was almost of adult age, Tun'kala presented him with a gift she had recovered before they were imprisoned: his father's war helm. Happy to have a piece of his past, Tun'kar wore the helm proudly around. She also snuck a heavier axe to him under the cover of night, to help him with his lumber work. He kept the axe hidden under a floorboard, thinking nothing of the helm that was a fixture of his appearance. However, one of the camp overseers recognized the helm, and as punishment he had Tun'kar whipped severely, and his sister was taken away. After a few days of being beaten, a group of soldiers returned to where Tun'kar was being kept, telling him they had a present for him. To his horror and dismay, they brought out a pike, his sister's head mounted atop of it with a pained expression on her face. They tortured him by telling him of the things they may have done to her, both before and after she was dead. Hurt and alone, Tun'kar raged and howled, but could do nothing. He was eventually returned to his bunk, seeming to be quiet and defeated.

When Hammerfall was stormed, Tun'kar was reinvigorated by the battle around him. He retrieved his axe, which he had forgotten about in his lethargy, and took down many soldiers in his search for the overseer that had taken his sister away, and the soldier that had taunted him while he was chained up. A merciless Tun'kar tore through the soldiers, cutting off their heads, and upon reaching the overseer's office he tossed the heads on the frightened overseer's desk. Begging and pleading for his life, the overseer was met by the angry gaze of Tun'kar, who not only cut off his head, but took out his skull and held it high in victory for the camp to see. It was in that moment that Tun'kar earned his name: Skullkeeper.

After finding the body and head of his sister and having it cremated in a funeral pyre, Tun'kar would assist in the battle at Durnholde, and survive the trip to Kalimdor. He aided the battle at Hyjal, afterwards becoming a nomad, traveling all over Kalimdor. During his travels, he reluctantly aided a Blood Elf in gathering herbs, which unknown to him was to cure a poison she was afflicted with. In appreciation for his deed, she took a raptor tooth from one he had killed earlier and formed a necklace of it, Tun'kar accepting the gift as a reminder of the small gifts his sister used to bestow upon him. He continues to make friends and hate Humans as he walks the land.

Personality

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Tun'kar is a simple Orc, highly uneducated but fiercely loyal. He speaks in a very simple manner and is prone to outbursts. He absolutely despises Humans after the death and post-mortem ridicule brought upon his sister while still in the camps. He regards most of the other races as weak and small, and respect is earned through combat. With the exception of Humans, Tun'kar would free anyone he sees in captivity, reminded of his own captivity and torture.
