Personality

Like any self-respecting Dwarf, Thorin is quite fond of ale and booze, though he also has a fondness for cake, muffins and other such delicious treats. He'll get along quite easily with anybody who appreciates good food and will gladly bake or cook something up for those who he respects, though he does seem to hold a bias against skinny people for 'not properly appreciating food'. He holds no real grudge against the Horde for their invasion of Loch Modan when he was young, hardly even remembering it, and will befriend just about anybody who shows they appreciate good food and ale.

History

Born to a warrior and a blacksmith in Thelsamar, playing with one of his father's axes at young age and getting injured lead to him developing aichmophobia, a fear of sharp objects. This made it rather difficult on the young dwarf during the second war, when Orcs swept through the lands and everybody wielded weaponry. While his mother attempted to remedy it by having him train to fight with a mace instead, and his father attempted to show him the best ways to forge blunt weapons and armour, both seemed to realize rather quickly that his fear of axes, swords, spears and knives would make him rather unsuitable for the life of either a warrior or a blacksmith.

Instead he developed a liking for cooking, for a while serving as an apprentice in the Thelsamar inn. His fear of using a cleaver left him unable to prepare roast or any other kind of meat or fish, however, and the fact that he cooked few, if any, traditional dwarven meals left him feeling under-appreciated. Eventually he packed up his supplies, wished his father and mother farewell, and left with a caravan to Elwynn, hoping that the humans and high elves living there would better appreciate his food.
