Skills and Abilities

Due to his mastery of the arcane, Teralvir is capable of harnessing its energy and shape it into the form of lighting, having created more than a few spells for this very purpose.

  • Eye of the Storm: Teralvir creates a vortex of lighting around him or at a target destination, repeatedly shocking any target in its range, as long as the spell is being cast.
  • Thunderblast: Teralvir shocks the target, injuring his opponent and paralyzing them temporarily. Stun chance is increased against targets wearing armor made of metal. [ Equivalent of Fireblast, with an added stun effect.]
  • Torment: Teralvir channels lighting towards a single target, creating a continuous ‘stream’ of energy, being able to be sustained for as long as he has mana. The longer it is cast, the more mana it drains.
  • Thunderstruck: Teralvir creates a powerful explosion, zapping and blasting away any targets that are close by. [ Equivalent of Blast wave ].
  • Ley Line Attunement: By tapping into the power of the ley lines, Teralvir has managed to empower some of his spells.
  • Fast as Lighting: Blink can be recast sooner and is less exhausting.
  • Electric shield: Manashield now also injures attackers, zapping them with lighting upon striking it.
  • Reach: By using the power of the Ley Lines, Teralvir is able to use his spells to hit targets at greater distances.
  • Ley Travel: By tapping into the ley lines that cross Azeroth, Teralvir is capable of teleporting himself across great distances.

Due to his complete lack of any martial training, not to mention lack of physical strength, Teralvir is useless when it comes to hand-to-hand combat or any sort of combat that requires a weapon other than magic. His knowledge regarding physical combat is lacking so much, that he doesn’t even know how to form a fist properly.

Appearance

Usual Garments/Armor: His garments are made of reinforced cloth. Besides the expensive material used and the intricate patterns weaved into it, his attire is enchanted to increase his mana pool, while his cloak grants him protection from flames.

Other: His attire is always clean, fitting him rather well, being clear that it has been tailored specifically for his size. He is well groomed and clean, his long hair well combed and the beard on his chin trimmed into shape.

Personality

Teralvir is curious by nature, being drawn to things he finds interesting, strange or fascinating. This can sometimes lead him into trouble, as the elf is rather naïve about how the real world actually works. Although sometimes he has outbursts of arrogance, especially when his worth is put into question, the young elf has a rather tempered attitude, which he keeps in check by trying to be humble to the best of his ability.

He has a playful attitude, one even being able to say that he enjoys life too much, the elf showing seriousness only when it comes to matters regarding magic or its use, not to mention the effects of consequences that stem from it.

Regarding other races, he has no hatred for them, at least not yet, since he didn’t have enough interactions with them so far. The orcs are the only ones that he is conflicted about, mostly due to the destruction they caused in Ashenvale and for killing Cenarius. The latter is not out of some sense of patriotism, but because of the fact that they took away his chance at interacting with a demi-god, finding such creatures incredibly interesting.

History

The son of a couple, of whom both were spellcasters, Teralvir was born into a life that was centered around magic. Unsurprisingly, the elf had a natural talent when it came to understanding the knowledge behind the magic arts and putting them into practice, Teralvir being tutored by both of his parents in the arcane from a very young age.

Being their only child, he was spoiled rotten, being offered anything his heart desired, living a sheltered and protected life inside the ancient walls of Eldre’Thalas. He spent almost the entirety of his time studying, reading and practicing the arcane arts, ending up becoming somewhat of a recluse, even among his own people. The love and attention his parents gave him, along with the praise from the other tutors he ended up studying under, only served to inflate his ego and make him arrogant.

As time went on, his arrogance only grew, but it was not exactly unwarranted: his obsession and intense study of the arcane had allowed him over the course of three hundred years to catch up relatively quickly in terms of skill with his tutors, ending up being a full fledged mage in his own right and then some. His unrelenting persistence in unlocking the secrets his ancestors had at their fingertips only made him even more of a social outcast, the young elf being rather incapable of maintaining a normal social interaction, even his fellow Highborne growing to dislike the bravado and all-knowing attitude of someone that has not even once ventured beyond his birthplace, not to mention going too far from his quarters, library or his study.

Most of his fellow elves ignored his claims of greatness, even going as far as to consider him childish and immature at times. Their relaxed attitude turned to worry, especially as far as his parents were concerned, when he managed to forge his own spells by using an element he shaped through arcane energy: lightining. The power and potential this element offered him made Teralvir grow even more arrogant, now considering himself a prodigy that would revolutionize the understanding of arcane for all Highborne to come. By this point his parents were afraid that their only son would start walking a path of self-destruction, only to end up an addict of the very power he wielded, the couple turning in desperation to one of the more elderly and wise magic practitioners among them: a Leywalker.

The elder agreed to take the young elf under his tutelage, being convinced by his parents’ plea for help. Teralvir, arrogant as he was, at first refused to accept the teachings of the elder, his father managing to convince him by preying on his weakness, lying to him by saying that after he would complete his training, he would step down and let him rule as the head of the family, granting him access to all their worldly possessions, not to mention influence among his peers. The condition for this however, was to listen to the elder and obey his orders to the letter.

The young elf simply could not resist the promise of such power, falling for the illusion his father had weaved. He agreed to accept the elder’s tutelage and start studying under his guidance and supervision. The lessons and teachings the elder imparted were mostly related to instructing him how to tap into Azeroth’s life blood, but they also taught him how to wield this power responsibly. The leywalker also made sure to teach him the value of humility and selflessness, which in return made him more aware of those around him, as well as making him show more respect to them out of politeness, if not anything else.

These lessons had an even more powerful impact on the youth as he started to travel the world with his mentor, in order to study the ley lines. Most of the times they would avoid making contact with anyone, using spells such as Invisibility to make their way undetected past inhabited areas or other travelers. Teralvir’s curiosity would get the better of him sometimes, however, as he did make contact with a few Kaldorei from time to time. These meetings were usually short lived as the elf was greeted with suspicion and mistrust, which quickly made him uncomfortable, but also making him realize that their suspicion was not entirely unwarranted, considering the scars magic has left on the world, scars which he saw with his own eyes.

Teralvir studied with the elder for next two hundred years, not only becoming a Ley Walker in the process, but also escaping the corruptive effects of the arcane. He also learned humility, respect and some of the social graces that allowed him to have a normal interaction with a person, without infuriating or annoying them to the point of being ignored. Despite all of this, his hunger for power is still there, as is his unquenched curiosity and thirst for knowledge, the elf having a rather unstable state of equilibrium. While he sometimes gives in to his arrogance and need for knowledge, he can contain it thanks to the lessons imparted to him. That is also the reason why he was not upset when his father told him that the promise he made to him was just a lie to get him to cooperate, the young elf understanding that it had to be done for his own good and even being grateful for what his father had done.

After the Highborne rejoined the Kaldorei, Teralvir left Eldre’Thalas and headed north, into their lands. He started traveling from settlement to settlement, now trying to learn more about his estranged kin and their way of life, finding druidism and nature worship a rather odd and peculiar lifestyle, but an intriguing one nonetheless. Spending more time among groups of people or at least interacting with some of them, had made Teralvir grow a thicker skin when it comes to the suspicious attitude thrown his way due to him being a mage and a Highborne. He has also grown to be less socially awkward, but not when it comes to interacting with females, his lack of experience in the matter usually ending up making him look like a fool. His mastery of the common tongue is a bit odd, the elf being able to speak the language used by the Alliance, however speaking a more archaic version of it, this sometimes leading to creating confusion or receiving ridicule.

Traveling through the elven lands and seeing the devastation the demons have caused, has made him rethink his view on his ancestors, his notion of them being noble and powerful magic practitioners being shaken rather severely. As for the other races, he has nothing but curiosity for them, being rather excited about meeting people from other races and learning about them, their customs and their culture, the elf doing his best to catch up on the history that has transpired in the last ten thousand years, in the outside world.

Despite all of this, his goals remain unchanged, Teralvir continuing his quest in the search for knowledge and unlocking the secrets of the arcane, although now perhaps not just for the thrill of it or the power it brings him, as the young elf is seriously considering joining the struggle of his estranged kin, the Kaldorei.
