A stubborn, headstrong, and immature Kal'dorei, Surienna Oathkeeper desires nothing more than to rid Ashenvale of the invading Warsong Clan and, in the process, prove her worth in spite of her age. Despite Surienna's good intentions, her impatience and fiery temper often put her at risk in a conflict that is much bigger than she truly understands.

Appearance

Surienna wears a dirty suit of studded leather and a pair of dusty, fur-lined boots. She is short (for her species), and has a youthful, heart-shaped face. She is not particularly happy about either feature. Surienna is well-muscled and athletic, but has almost nothing in the way of curves, so to speak.

Personality

Surienna is brash, headstrong, and feral, with a strong competitive streak. She can come off as downright mean to strangers, as she is impatient and sarcastic in conversation. Surienna always prefers action to idle discussion; if she bothers to be involved in an extended conversation, it is usually to find out where something is and how she can get it.

Surry, as she sometimes prefers to be called, also exhibits traits that give away her relative youth. She is curious to a fault, and will often imitate those she admires. When frustrated, she throws something of a fit, kicking at the ground and grumbling under her breath.

Perhaps the most immediately obvious thing about Surienna's personality is her outspoken hatred of orcs. Her vendetta with them appears to begin with the deforestation of Ashenvale, though other factors may be at work. In fact, she thinks poorly of the entire Horde and much of the Alliance, as she cannot comprehend why the Allies do not simply march on their enemies' capitals and wipe them off the face of Kalimdor. She seems to think that such a conflict would result in inevitable victory for her people, hinting at her lack of real wartime experience.

It should be noted that Surienna's common is not very skillful or proper- She learned the language by listening to the lower denizens of human cities speaking it, and thus, her pronunciation of certain words is hurried or incorrect. Lacking a strong understanding of the language, she often uses human curses as a sort of verbal crutch. That said, she did go out of her way to learn the most offensive Darnassian phrases in the human language. "Satyr-lover" and "Fel-sucker" are two of her favorite insults.

Surienna is perfectly fluent and much more eloquent in Darnassian, though she is illiterate in both languages.

History

Surienna was born long after the major conflicts of the Night Elven people. Her mother was a warrior and Sentinel of Astranaar, and her father a Druid of the Talon. She was conceived during one of the rare, brief meetings of her parents when her father was awake.

Surienna never spent much time with her mother, growing up. From a young age, she sought out the natural world beyond Astranaar, going as far into the untamed wilderness as the adult elves of the town would allow. There, she learned survival skills and gained an affinity for nature. In the few moments she had with her mother, she learned of combat.

By the time the orcs invaded Ashenvale, Surienna was anxious to join her mother and fight in defense of her home. Yet, she was still considered to be a child, and was not allowed to participate in the battles that followed. In the end, her father (whom Surienna had never met) was awoken with the other druids, and both parents left to fight at Hyjal. Neither returned.

In the aftermath of the war, Surienna left the sanctuary of Astranaar and exiled herself to the forest. There, she learned the skills to survive on her own, and schemed to wage her own conflict against the orcs, and eventually the entire Horde. She found that there was little she could do by herself, so she attempted to join with the Silverwing Sentinels. She became friends with several members of the group, but was never allowed to join. She was seen as being too impulsive, too extreme, and once again, too young.

Angry and disillusioned, Surienna gave up on her crusade and traveled to other lands, where she settled into a life of treasure-hunting and practicing her skills. She still holds a grudge against the Horde, and will occasionally try to convince others to join her on a 'hunt,' with varying degrees of success.
