Skills and Abilities

Doll Master: During his Training as a Witch Doctor, his father showed him a unique Voodoo that his family has practiced for years. He communicates with one of the weaker, shapeless and more numerous Loa, inviting them to take a doll that he creates for their own body in exchange for help. Seeing as how these dolls are quite weak, he is only able to use them in non-violent instances, such as mixing and gathering materials. Due to the weaker Loa using energy to manipulate the body, Sul'Ji 'feeds' them the magical energy in his blood. This makes him only able to maintain 3 dolls without becoming weak.

Appearance

Usually a simple kilt with a harness and some Masks on his shoulders, Juju hanging from them. But he adorns a special headdress and shoulder pieces for more complex and sacred Rituals.

Other: Sul'Ji has a large scar on his left leg that runs from his ankle to his mid thigh. The scar is deep and was caused by a fallen, burning timber.

Personality

Alignment: Chaotic Good.

From talking with the Loa and witnessing some horrific acts, Sul'Ji is a bit... Odd. He is care-free most definitely, but his culture sometimes clashes with those of the more... Modern Era. He embraces many new ideas openly but will look past when it comes to religion. He would give his life for anyone and sometimes will welcome death. He tends to become very sad when people talk of wives or children, reminding him of what he once had.

History

Zul'Sul'Ji was born Sul'Ji in a small inland village on the original Islands his kind once called home. His father was the Witch Doctor of the village and was loved by them all. His mother was a wonderful Trollish Woman who served his father faithfully. When Sul'Ji was 5 years old, he began spear fishing in the streams, as did many Troll Youths to hone their skills with the spear. Sul'Ji did not distinguish himself between his peers in this field for many years until he began studying herbs, especially the ones that his father used in his work. After studying the herbs for 6 years, he finally concocted a plan.

While his father was helping mend a hunter who had suffered a hunting accident with a boar, Sul'Ji snuck into his fathers herb house, he took a few toxic herbs and ran to the stream. He set the rocks up to create a dam at one point. He then went upstream and sank the bag of herbs with a rock. The herbs polluted the water with toxic chemicals and after waiting for an hour, he had ten large fish to return with. He decided to cook one of the fish at the river, to celebrate his success. He devoured half of one of the fish before returning to the village. Sul'Jin got about half way back home when he started to vomit.

It was what felt like hours before Sul'Ji was found, the toxins of the poison was in the fish. He was sweating profusely and vomiting regularly. His father took care of his son, knowing that the herbs were not powerful enough to kill Sul'Ji, should his father keep fluids in him. When Sul'Ji woke, he was scalded for stealing the herbs and polluting the water of the nearby stream.

Many more years passed for Sul'Ji, his interest in his fathers work adamant through it all. When Sul'Ji became of age, he helped his father mix potions for the tribe. He also went to gather for his father whenever the older troll ran low. During this time, he learned a lot about the herbs and plants of the Isles. Whenever his father left to meet with other Witch Doctors for large rituals or a 'formal' event, he would follow along, further learning the ways of the Witch Doctor.

But Sul'Ji's life was not completely devoted to the life of a Witch Doctor, he also had his eye on a she-troll of the village. El'Jawa, the daughter of a great hunter who lost his life during a trip hunting a rogue Raptor. To Sul'Ji, she was beautiful. Her tusks were full, skin a deep purple, her hair blood red. She also shared in his admiration, she was quite attracted to the young Doctor in training. It was not long before they were married, a great celebration was held in their honor as it was a great marriage in the eyes of the Trolls, a daughter of a great hunter being bonded to the son of the Village Witch Doctor. Sul'Ji was truly happy and so was El'Jawa.

When Sul'Ji's father began to feel the effects of his age, he called his son to him in the dead of the night. When Sul'Ji entered, he was amazed by what he saw. His father was hobbling on his walking stick around a troll in shackles. The Troll was gagged and he seemed to be weeping. Two headhunters stood guard over the Witch Doctor and the captive. Sul'ji's father was quick to explain that this troll had killed another and his wife a village over. They did not know why he did but that did not matter to them, obviously. Sul'Ji was still confused why he was here, at this village but his father once again explained that their family had always dealt with issues like this for generations.

Sul'Ji helped the two Headhunters bind the captive to a table while his father was sewing a doll. As his father finished the doll, he grabbed the two dolls that always sat on the shelf. "I need your help again friends." His father whispered into the dolls. Sul'Ji was surprised to see the dolls come to life and begin to go around the hut while his father watched and directed them. Sul'Ji watched in excitement, completely forgetting the dark nature of the night, as the dolls added ingredients into the cauldron while his father stirred and chanted. When the mix was finished, Sul'Ji's father beckoned him over. His father ladled out a healthy helping of the mix and told him to cut open the trolls arm and pour that in the wound. Sul'Ji was once again brought back to the horrible truth of the night, they were going to punish this troll and he was going to help. But none the less, Sul'Ji took his fathers blade and, very shakily, slit the trolls arm about 5 inches. He then poured the green, steaming liquid into the wound. The captive howled in pain against his gag and Sul'Ji shivered.

Sul'Ji sat back for the rest of the night as his father tortured the Troll with hot iron, potions and poisons. His father ultimately bonded the troll to the doll mentioned before and made him walk out the hut, down the hill and down into the stream where he stood on his head until he drowned himself. Sul'Ji was disgusted slightly but knew it had to be done. This troll had killed a brother without a direct challenge, in the middle of the night. At the end of the ordeal, his father approached him and informed him that he would be taught the Voodoo of the Darkspear. His father was aging and he knew that he would have to take his place, and so he agreed to learn the Voodoo, to continue on the Duty of his family as a Witch Doctor.

Sul'Ji studied for years under his father, learning all there was to know about Voodoo and the dolls his father uses. He found out that the weaker Loa are unable to bring themselves into a form without help, unlike the stronger Loa who could create Avatars. He learned that his father contacts those Loa and offers them a body for help when mixing complex potions.

During Sul'Ji's training, after many failures of bearing children, El'Jawa gave birth to a son. Sul'Ji named him Del'Ji. Sul'Ji was incredibly happy and proud, he finally had a family of his own.

When Del'Ji was but a young troll, Sul'Ji finished his training and helped his father preform many rituals. Though he was not a full blown Witch Doctor yet, his peers of the village respected him as one, knowing that when his father passes, Sul'Ji will take his position. Then, the day came, his father passed during Sul'Ji's mid-40's. The Troll was happy for his father, knowing that he was reunited with his wife. Sul'Ji was proud to attempt to fill his fathers headdress and by all accounts, he did. He was a kind and gentle man when healing, wise and open minded when asked for advice and very devout to the Loa, praising them everyday and giving them offerings in the shape of food, drink and hand crafted gifts. And so, Sul'Ji earned the name Zul'Sul'Ji.

Time passed slowly for Sul'Ji, his son was growing fast and learning to be a great hunter. El'Jawa and Sul'Ji attempted to conceive another child but they could not, and so they gave their one son all their love. Sul'Ji pushed his son to follow his dreams to become a great hunter and even helped him find herbs and plants that would attract game.

Sul'Ji was in his 50's when the Humans and Orcs landed on the shores. Word spread wide and many trolls left to answer the call of Sen'Jin. Del'Ji wanted to leave as well but Sul'Ji felt he should remain home and be ready to defend the village should the Humans arrive. In fact, many of the young men in the village stayed, respecting the wisdom of the Witch Doctor. And so when word was sent out that Sen'Jin had been captured by the Sea Witch, Sul'Ji left to go help the Horde, knowing that his help will be needed to help calm the trolls. When the mountain exploded and Thrall returned without Sen'Jin, announcing that the Darkspear would follow the Horde, Sul'Ji rushed home to get his family.

When Sul'Ji arrived, he was in dismay to find his home burning, many of the flaming rocks from the mountain had laid siege to the village. Those who weren't dead were gone, headed for the ships. Sul'Ji pulled fallen timber from the door and rushed inside, the smoke thick. He found his son and wife on the ground, dead from the smoke. He pulled them into his arms as tears ran down his face. The roof collapsed above him and pinned his leg under a burning timber. He cried in pain so loud that a nearby orcish patrol, protecting more villagers on their way to the ships, heard him. One rider broke off from the group and went to find the source. The orc found him and with the help of his Worg, he pulled the timber off the Troll, even though Sul'Ji begged him not to. The orc took him to the ships and they were off to sea as Sul'Ji eventually passed out from shock.

When he awoke he saw that the orc who had protected him sat near him, snoring. He checked his leg and saw that it was bandaged. He pulled it off and saw the raw wound that was beginning to heal. It would scar, heavily and some of his muscle was gone. Due to the fire, he would never fully recover from this wound. Sul'Ji made friends with the orc who saved him and traveled with him during the Horde's conquests and battles on Kalimador.

Sul'Ji served the Horde in honor of his family, knowing that they would want him to continue his work even though they have passed. Sul'Ji served as a doctor, interrogator and a potion maker for the Horde. When Garosh took over as Warchief though, Sul'Ji became very disgusted with how the Horde was treating their longest ally. Unhappy with how the Horde was going about things, Sul'Ji claimed he was going to reconnect with the Loa and just left. To this day, he says he will not return to the Horde until Thrall returns or Garosh dies.
