History

Solon was born into a Lower Upper Class family. His father was a respected mage that worked in a small enchantment shop within the Mage Quarters of Stormwind. Solon grew up totally enthralled by his father and all the magic that surrounded his life. As fortune would have it, Solon had a touch of talent for the art of magic himself. Most of Solon's childhood was spent in the shop with his father, being shown a few small spells here and there.

When Solon turned 10, his father apprenticed him under a friend of his. A wondering mage by the name of William. Solon learnt how to use his magical ability and best harness it. The first few years of training was simply getting his body fulling adjusted to the magic flowing through his veins and how to bend that to his will. It was a long and difficult road and more than once he throught of giving up. But Solon stuck in there, if not for himself, to please his father.

When Solon turned 14, William started teaching him how to be a young noble and made sure that he was properly educated for his journey through life. Solon spent years learning book after book of literature, mathematics and even battle tactics. Being only 14, Solon didn't take to these lessons straight away, often daydreamed and was really lack-lustered to learn. But as he grew older, he started to understand why he should know such things and really dedicated himself to his studies.

On the eve of Solon's 18th Birthday, William told him that there was no more lessons of magic or knowledge that he could pass on. But he did have one last skill. William taught Solon in the way of the blade. Taught him how to handle himself in close quarters combat when his magic was no use for one reason or another. The use of the sword came quickly to Solon, but the actual art behind the swordplay eluded him for nearly a year. Until one night.

Solon and William were travelling back from Redridge to Stormwind. They had been in Redridge for a few days, resting up at the Inn and spending their time chatting with the locals or fishing off the pier. From nowhere they were ambushed by Defias and were quickly swarmed. The pair managed to fight off three quarters of their attackers before William took a knife in the shoulder from behind. Left with his injured teacher and against 4 bandits, Solon wanted to run. He wanted to run in fear of his life and leave his mentor of 9 years to die. But Solon didn't find himself fleeing, he saw no shaking in his hands, his legs weren't on the verge of giving way. He was calm, collected and ready. Drawing on his years of lessons and training, Solon danced around the Defias with perfected swordplay and quick lashes of magic. Sooner rather than later, there were 4 less Defias in the world.

Solon managed to get William to Goldshire with the help of a guard. There William was healed and rested for a few days. After William was well, he decided that Solon had learnt everything he could teach and they sat down for one last night and had a prolonged conversation, full of witty jokes and flagons of mead. When morning came Solon saw his mentor off from the door of the Goldshire Inn. From that day, he himself became a wandering Mage. Travelling lands far and near, looking to do anything to pass the time.
