Personality

Armed only with the knowledge that his schooling provided him in the ways of the Light, Silas only recently came to realize that he has no idea how to spread the good word to (often hostile) races and cultures that would rather be left alone. He continues to be naïve of his new neighbors and their practices, but he's become increasingly willing to follow along whether or not it promises to result in any spiritual progress. He is a coward, sooner to run from direct confrontation than to fight it, and he has a pathological obsession with neatness and order, which tends to clash with his usual surroundings. Still, he means well and he does his best to help the people around him.

History

Silas Comstock was inconveniently born while his family made their exodus from their farm in Westfall at the coming of the First War. Edward and Janice Comstock, both firm believers of the Holy Light, did their best to instill the same ideology in their youngest son, and they succeeded. In fact, the trials Silas and his immediate family suffered throughout his early childhood only strengthened their religious resolves. The Comstocks spent nearly a decade penniless the outskirts of Lordaeron, with both parents taking whatever odd jobs they could in competition with the masses of other refugees that were storming the land at the time. When the orcs came a second time, Silas's family spent an extended period of time behind the walls of Capital City as Lordaeron waited out the largest of the Horde's sieges. The Second War ended, the family returned to Stormwind as soon as it was rebuilt, and the combination of his past suffering and his new home's proximity to the largest Cathedral on the southern end of the Eastern Kingdoms substantially reinforced the boy's ties to his religion, so much so that it was no surprise when he left for seminary at the first opportunity.

He received extensive training in his faith and its practical uses, with a particular emphasis on the ways in which it could be introduced to other cultures. With this preparation, along with his feeble command over the Darnassian language, Silas, then Brother Comstock, set out for Kalimdor with woefully little practical knowledge to speak of in order to spread the word of the Light.

His early attempts to directly sway the residents of major night elven settlements were remarkable failures, and Silas has found himself in violent conflict with the moon-centric traditions of the local populace on more than one occasion. As of recently, he has become significantly less aggressive in his approaches with the hope of finally seeing some enthusiasm from his reluctant friends, perhaps as well as some of the other cultures dwelling nearby.
