Personality:

Shin is quite the hype one; and quite playful. Often trailing off to either find food or to eavesdrop on passerby's. He seems a bit primitive yet one could tell that he has spent years within city walls, but perhaps not long enough. He has no need for money because he doesn't ponder on material things as usual with most of his race. With is primitive way of thinking Shin is rather easily manipulated to follow people and do things for them.

History:

Shin was born during a time of peace for the High Elven people. However the same could not be said of Dwarves as the raged on in the War of Three Hammers. Shin grew up in Quel'Thalas in the city of Silvermoon as learned from his parents the secrets of elven rangers, a profession his family has partaken in for generations. He learned first of the bow and how to hone his vision onto his target; He later was taught with use of short blades, as some may say daggers. He was growing up a happy normal life, however he grew bored of the city and longed to see the wilderness that he was taught so much about. His father decided it was time that Shin learned the true purpose of the Elven ranger as he took him out as they protected the borders of their city.

However Shin once again grew bored of watching and set out more into the wilderness eventually finding himself lost. Though rather than turning back he decided to head further into the wilderness until he could no longer lull his fear. Panicking he runs off in what he thought was the way he came, only to find himself deeper into the woods. Cold wet and hungry; Hungry for food, but also the growing hunger for magic. Shin wandered the woods for what seemed to be day, which turned into weeks, and those into months. A few years go past as Shin wanders the woods only to finally find civilization, a small High Elf town Called Tranquillien. It is here that Shin spent another portion of his life learning the way of a ranger, but this time, he couldn't resist the lure of the wilderness. He would then spend years in the woods and years in the town. He continued this cycle until the dawn of the Third War.

As the scourge moved onwards towards Silvermoon The High Elves abandoned the town. Shin fleeing north as most of the others did a sense of pride came over him as days of travel have brought him back to Silvermoon. However this time, it was under heavy siege of the scourge. Trying to help save the city Shin takes an injuring to his arm that is pretty bad; He flees the area back into the wild.

While fleeing the scourge destroy the Sunwell, and a searing pain races though Shin as he feels the sudden latent hunger. His addiction strong Shin seeks to try and control, meditating in the wilderness. The mediation does little to slate the appetite. He tries to feed of the mana of the creatures in the wild. Which only reduce his hunger by little. He tries more creatures and bigger ones. He nearly reaches madness when he has a dream. It is a vision of his family, and they are lending him strength to try and control the hunger. Training himself for weeks and months. He slowly weens himself into a tolerable state. His hunger still laying dormant He struggles to keep his addiction in check, trying only to siphon enough mana from nature to stop the pains from his undying hunger.

Years went by as he continued training trying to suppress the hunger for good, but to no avail. He even attempts to suppress his memory to give himself a false soothing feeling. He is able to supress significant parts of his past, but they still haunt his dream; the same way the hunger is always biting at him. Finally feeling it was time for Shin to leave his homeland, he ventured south through the plaguelands, into Trisfal Glades. He wanders through grassy mountainess area traveling south. Avoiding civilization as a fear he may be lured too far back into his addiction from it. He continues south. Finding a boat that would take him into Kalimdor. Landing in the port town of Ratchet.

Ratchet

It was here Shin learned most about the world around him. Mostly just from other weary travelers. He learned quickly of the harsh place the world can be. Full of treachery and betrayal, deceit and manipulations. He also learned of friendship. It was here that he had met a women by the name of Tasi. Someone who at first seemed to despise his very being. But after months of trying he started to gain an ounce of trust out of her. Mostly out of the fact that both had been manipulated by a troll who had less than honorable goals. Since both of them worked with each other for a time being, she began to learn that the two were not all that different, and that Shin himself was different than most of his Sin'Dore brother and sisters. She learned that he too revered nature, almost as much as the night elves. Shin would like to have believed that the two of them grew together as friends, perhaps more, but she still didn't seem to trust him completely. He at least earned enough respect to regularly meet usually in private, to talk. Eventually after months had past they traveled away from Ratchet, seeking new surroundings. Unbound by any real direction they just traveled. Shin left Ratchet for the first time since arriving there.

Feralas

After traveling for weeks, closing in on months, the two reached the edge of a forest known as Feralas. The beauty filled Shin's heart and mind. Everything else seemed to melt away within as the site overtook his senses. Taking in the wonders of the flora and fauna they continued through the forest. Eventually settling near a lake setting up camp, where they decided that they're journey would end here and this is where they would spend the rest of the time. Shin though, not being one to stay put, wandered off alone, getting lost in the lands natural beauty.

A dream?

After finding himself lost within Feralas, Shin began to hear hushed voices call out to him through the trees. His curious nature taking him to follow them. The more he followed the voice deeper into the forest, he began to be enveloped in fog. The voices becoming distant whispers. Although he could not make out exactly what they were saying he knew that the voices were speaking both Darnassian and Thalassian, speaking not to him, but each other. However he felt as if the voices spoke of him, but he couldn't be certain. It felt like hours that he stood within the blinding fog listening to the voices, when they seemed to hush and an elk appeared some distance away from him. I he reached out for the elk, just for something to touch, but as he got closer he found that his vision became more and more blurred. Eventually blacking out. Shin woke some time later a mere foot away from his camp where he found the women he was traveling with. Who informed him that he had been missing for nearly a month. Shin told her of the dream, but she believed non of it. Angry at Shin she stormed off, leaving him to wait for hours.

Road Home

After hours of being alone Shin decided to follow the tracks made by Tasi. Following them back the way they had traveled a month ago. He eventually lost her tracks upon reaching a road. Thinking that she may had taken the road Shin followed it, and it was here that he found her. But in a state he wasn't quite prepared for. Her lifeless body lay beside the road, tossed away like refuse. Shin had lost the one person he had ever trusted, the one person he ever called friend. The only person he may have loved. After mourning for hours on end, Shin made a decision to head back to his homeland, the one true place he ever felt safe and secure, back to Ghostlands. So he trekked back, taking several days. Some with no rest at all. Trying to avoid any evidence of civilization. He felt alone and empty on the inside, the only thing keeping him going is the thought that perhaps he could forget and just return home, a place that he could be safe from the the torment of the world around him. It hadn't been but a few hours wandering aimlessly about this place he had once called home before running across someone, a female Sin'dore. She spoke much of nature, in the same respect as Shin would, or that of a night elf. Her words struck directly into Shin's heart. Almost making the world he knew whole again. He had sought this land as a way to escape his pain. But she made him realize his pain was self inflicted. That even though the one person who he might say he loved was dead, he shouldn't be saddened by it. And to respect her by continuing on, keeping her and nature within his heart and mind.
