Appearance

Usual Garments/Armor: Shayanra's prized possession is a staff made of dark wood. Dark blue leaves and stormcrow feathers are attached to it at random, with the majority being the former. It is a few inches taller than him, and bare near the top, where he keeps his hand. He wears a dress made of linen, furs and bark. The linen is obviously old, and the other two additions have been added in more recent times.

Other: The man's face is heavily wrinkled. He leans on his staff with his left hand, doing most actions with his right.

Personality

Shayanra is a man who's primary worry is that things will move too quickly, and rash action will lead to failure. To this end, he is slow, often taking hours to think and rethink of his solution. Of course, chess is his game. He knows plenty of life, both including plant life and animal life. All life is precious to him, and death is something he avoids at all costs, preferring rehabilitation over death whenever possible. This extends to all, even those twisted by Fel or other magics.

He is not necessarily racist, but that does not mean he likes other races. He's fairly traditional, thinking that the Kaldorei would be best if left to their own, and likewise with the rest of the races. He views the Horde's actions in Ashenvale as abhorrent and extremely demon-like, but does not wish to fight them, instead hoping they will eventually see the error of their ways. He views most other races with a peculiar eye, trying to discern whether or not they are good in his eyes, or not.

History

Shayanra was born to a family almost unimaginably poor. While the Highborne lived in their lavish palaces, his family lived in the shadows, surviving off of their left-overs. He was raised from a young age to be a thief, and grew to be good at his profession. However, one day, the young boy tried to go for the wrong target and set off an alarm. The Mage who he'd tried to rob took the boy and attempted to find his parents. However, his parents had seen someone they assumed was coming to arrest them and split, leaving the boy in the care of the Mage.

The Mage was lost on what to do, and ended up taking Shayanra as an apprentice. He gave the boy a new name and began to teach him about the Arcane. The man was a Captain of the Moon Guard, and Shayanra was quickly taught that his future would be filling his adoptive parent's footsteps. He did not have a massive amount of talent, but he was capable enough and eager to please. After a years of training, the boy was admitted into the organization. A few more hundred years of training, and his 'father' died. Shayanra was promoted to fill the space.

Shayanra was looking at retirement when the War of the Ancients started. He joined the side of the Resistance with the rest of the Moon Guard, and fought dutifully. He was old, but age matters little to the Arcane and he managed to survive the war, returning to Ashenvale with many others at the end of it. He, like many other members of the Moon Guard, had became disgusted with what Arcane had done, and volunteered with the first wave to become Druids. He'd always envied the birds, and chose to become a Druid of the Talon.

This lasted for a few hundred years, until the War of the Satyr. He was scouting over a Satyr town when an arrow struck one of his wings and sent him tumbling to the ground. He managed to tumble through the forest away from his pursuers, before collapsing in front of a lake. When he woke up, there were no Satyr and his arm was healed. There was no evidence of who'd done it, other than a wisp. When he went to follow the wisp, it began to lead him away. It eventually led him to a hidden grove. The only inhabitant was a Keeper of the Grove.

The Keeper of the Grove spoke of the death of the forest at the hands of the Satyr, and eventually, after a lengthy speech, asked Shayanra to learn about the forests and how to repair it. Shayanra assumed that the Keeper had healed him, and accepted. The two trained for eons, neither in any particular hurry. Shayanra learned the ins and outs of the forest and it's life, as well as how to repair and maintain the forest. Eventually, his Shan'do declared the Elf's training complete, and directed him to Moonglade.

Shayanra returned just in time to take part in the War of the Shifting Sands. As a powerful healer, he was invaluable in the war effort as it moved back and forth. After the war, he returned to the Emerald Dream for the first time in millenia. The war there, against the Nightmare, was something he felt better at. His job involved the rejuvenation of the lands taken back from the Nightmare, and it was something that he felt comfortable with. He continued this for a decent amount of time, doing the duty that the Goddess had granted to him. He left the Dream a bit before the Nightmare was defeated for a break, only to return to found it beat.

He found this new world exhilarating, and decided to stay there instead of the Dream. He reconnected with a few friends and set out to help, whereever he might find acceptable.
