History

Saul was born to simple farmers in Gilneas. His mother was a Harvest Witch and used her magic to help with the food production while his father was a rifleman for the Gilnean army. Saul spent most of his life helping his mother tend to the fields. His life was rather normal until the orcs attacked and his father left to join in the war. It wasn't long until Saul and his mother got word that he was killed in action.

Saul would soon begin learning about the Old Ways from his mother in an effort to focus on something other than his father’s passing, per his mother’s advice. He slowly started liking it, having trouble with learning the rituals and practices. He eventually became well versed in the Old Ways faith, using it’s gifts to help tend to the fields like his mother.

When Crowley led his rebellion, Saul was more or less unaffected. He and his mother were too busy trying to make ends meet to deal with politics.

His day to day routine would be the same for the most. His life was simple and quiet, just how he liked it. Of course, until the worgen attacks started. When the village he lived in came under attack he did what he could to help fight, taking a harvester’s scythe up as a weapon. He and a few other villagers were able to cut down a few before they started getting overwhelmed. Fleeing the scene he raced home. When he got home, he hastily started barricading his home with the help of his mother. He thought they were safe, but he wasn't.

Saul looked on in horror as he saw his mother turn into the same beasts that were attacking the countryside. She came at him, fangs and claws trying to kill him. Saul lifted up his harvester’s scythe and struck her down, but not before getting bit and clawed multiple times.

The world went black to Saul, soon waking up to finding someone holding an empty vial over him. Saul was cursed and turned into a Worgen. He was hunted and given the “cure” by other Gilneans. At first, Saul didn't know what to think of this lupine form, he could see the negatives of curse, but also the possibility of what he could do. He decided to try and take the bad with the good and help bring other feral worgen to their senses. With his new Worgen form, Saul found that he has a stronger connection to the natural magic he learned from his mother.

The Harvest Witch realized that he could in fact use this curse to help, he enjoyed helping others like him regain sanity, but he also wanted to fight the undead. Saul continued to help bring Worgen back to get the cure up until he, like the rest of the cursed would take part in the ritual in Tal'doren. While thinking that most of the feral worgen have been helped, his efforts gravitated towards attacking the Forsaken rather than bringing in feral worgen. During one night he spotted a lone Night Elf surrounded by the undead. Saul rushed into help.

Rorrel, the Night Elf he went in to help turned out to be a Druid. She was impressed with Saul's bravery and decided that she would help train this Gilnean learn more of the Druidic arts.

On the boat ride from Gilneas to Darnassus, Saul spent the journey learning more and more from Rorrel. Once they arrived in the city of the Night Elves, Rorrel stated that Saul should venture into the Emerald Dream. Since she believed that the young Harvest Witch was ready for such a training.

Saul continued his training, learning how to take the shape of animals. Saul focused most of his time to one thing, becoming the animal. With his focus on taking up these animal forms, he hasn't take strides to learn more of the restoration magic of Druids. Confident in his abilities after his training with his Shan'do, Saul left Darnassus with the intent to pay back the Kaldorei and the Alliance for aiding Gilneas.

For the last few months Saul has been in Northrend, helping a friend settle there. His friend decided she wanted to live away from the rest of the world and Saul didn't mind helping. Upon his return he continued learning how to speak Darnassian, albeit slower now that he hasn't had any contact with the person teaching him how to read and speak the language. Despite the obstacles, he finally feels he has a good grasp upon Darnassin to speak publicaly, however he has a horrible accent with it.
