Samantha gives out an impression of a shut-in person, which is strange, for someone of nobility. She would usually stay silent, observant of her surroundings. But when approached, she shows a friendly side, polite and well mannered, as she is expected to be.

History

Born in Kul’Tiras between the first and second wars, one cannot truly say she had a peaceful childhood. But being born to a house of nobles has its perks, which meant money. Born with a silver spoon in her mouth, almost literally, Samantha’s father, Calgar Harkov, made sure Samantha would have the finest education money can buy.

Sadly, however, we all know how children get easily distracted with fables of might and magic, which were common in Azeroth, with the many stories of heroism of the First and Second wars. Inspired by soldiers who came to Kul Tiras, she has asked her father to be sent to Stormwind, where her cousins were, to become a Knight.

Despite her father’s wishes, he agreed, and she left there soon afterwards. When she arrived to Stormwind, she was left to the care of her uncle, and became closer to her cousins, Thaddeus and Casey Harkov. She seemed to get along more with Thaddeus than with Casey, and often was scowled at for acting inappropriately for a lady.

When her teachings began, she had to give her full dedication to it, growing farther from her cousins, despite having Thaddeus help her train. Eventually, she moved into the barracks itself.

From her letters to her father, a few years after she began: “Dearest of all fathers, I thank you again for sending me here. The knights are treating me different because I am a girl, but I already managed to beat some of the other Squires in competitions. I hope you are proud of me as I am of myself.

Love, Samantha.”

And she did. Samantha developed more as a boy than as a girl, growing tall, in comparison to women of her age, and more muscular than a lady should be. Another thing her surrogate family scowled her for.

Upon finishing her training, becoming a Knight of Stormwind, she left to Theramore along with the Lordaeron knight and survivors. There she remained for several years, helping with keeping peace in the Human settlement in Kalimdor. She did not participate in the battle for Hyjal, as her commander believed she was too inexperienced.

Another few uneventful years pass, and she finds herself on a ship to Northrend, to help with the Alliance Expedition, stronger than she was, now bearing the title Dame Harkov.

The Northern wasteland was a harsh terrain for the young knight, where she had encountered many dangerous beasts and enemies, fighting along valuable allies from all around the world. She became experienced in ways she would have never hoped to be, experiencing love, and the death of a loved one, all in those critical months. When reaching to Icecrown, she stayed behind in Dalaran, not joining the Ashen Verdict as she decided that it was more important for her to return to the Stormwind base in the Borean Tundra.

She stayed there for a long while, and then has decided that it is time for her to return to Stormwind, and then, perhaps, to Kul-Tiras. Upon reaching Stormwind, however, she heard of her cousin’s death. Torn by grief, she has decided to make Stormwind her home, and try and mend her relations with her remaining cousin, Casey, who was left to run the House’s business all by herself.

Now given the opportunity and time, she wanders the eastern Kingdoms, hoping to one day reach the same glory that the knights in her childhood fables did.
