Personality

Ryin doesn't look very comforting at first glance. She looks like she would be the type of person to punch you in the face for trying to hit on her. Though, in reality, Ryin just wants friends, and is actually a very happy woman. She smiles a lot with her friends, and warms up to people quite fast. When Ryin makes a friend, she tends to be a bit clingy, though. She wants to hang out and talk everyone week, at least. A bit creepy to the other side of the friendship. If asked to choose between money or friendship, Ryin is the type of person who would choose friendship. This is simply because she values people over wealth or fame. Ryin's personality was greatly affected due to the fact that she was raised by mercenaries. She matured before she was suppose to, and become independent way too early. She grew up having to always make her own meals, and put herself to sleep. Overall, growing up this way helped Ryin become a mature, responsible woman. The only thing that hurt her from this experience would have to be that she doesn't know what it feels like to have a mother or father figure. She was alone all her life technically, and doesn't even realize it. She has never felt loneliness because she never felt companionship.

In terms of intelligence, Ryin would be quite up there. Not book-smart, but logically smart. She can do puzzles very well, because on the mercenary ship they didn't have much to do other than puzzles and the drinking game, 'I never'. Ryin didn't participate in the game, so she was always stuck with the puzzles. This made her extremely logical, and able to solve things by thinking outside the box. She has grown fond of puzzle-type games and events in life, and loves to solve things by herself. It makes her feel proud, and accomplished.

History

When Ryin was extremely young, around 1 year old, her and her parents where sailing across the seas, trying to escape the horror of the Second War. This is when her family was attacked by pirates. Her parents were killed by the pirates. Ryin was left to escape in a dinghy that her parents sent out in the waters before they were killed. Ryin was extremely lucky that she was then found by a group of mercenaries. She was crying, and they didn't know what to do. So, naturally, they gave her milk. This is where her obsession of Milk started. She drank milk all her life, and still only orders that in bars.

The mercenaries raised Ryin for most of her life. She grew up to be a tough girl. Strong, as well, drinking milk so much made her that way. Ryin did a lot of researching on the scar that was on her forearm. She found out that it was the pirates' doing. She was branded with their trademark 'X'. This pirate gang was one of the most famous at the time. It was easy to find out where they were, and thus, Ryin convinced the mercenaries to go raid the pirates' hideout, and slaughter most of them. The reason that the mercenaries so easily went with Ryin's idea to kill the pirates, was because these same pirates had been in a long-term rivalry with the mercenaries. Stealing treasure, destroying parts of ships, etc. Ryin was angered that the mercenaries would not let her come along. Though, in the end, she realized that it was only because they did not want her to get hurt. Ryin felt relieved, but guilty at the same time.

Ryin was 14 when the Third War happened. She and the mercenaries were called upon to fight for the Alliance. They were brave soldiers. Ryin did not want to fight, due to the promise she made herself after she destroyed the pirate's hideout. The mercenaries gave Ryin their ship to stay on while they were fighting. Though, something terrible happened during the war, and none of the mercenaries returned. Ryin then decided to move to the Eastern Kingdoms after the war, and live a peaceful life. To the best of her ability, that is.

Ryin now resides in Booty Bay. She joined as a client in The Love Exchange, because she started to get really lonely once she left the mercenaries at age 19. Once Ryin settled down, she knew that everything would be okay. No more combat, no more death. She could finally meet someone and raise a family.
