Appearance

Reyna is slighter shorter than your normal Sin’dorei and very petite, having next to no muscles and being all skin and bone.

Personality

Reyna is bright, bubbly and happy. She almost always has a smile on her face and if she’s playing music, her grin is immovable. This cheery persona is always present with people she meets and she never bears people any ill will unless they deliberately try to harm her or abuse her. Any violence towards her will be met swiftly with violence in return, usually by her lynx-friend or her crossbow. She loves playing music and will never refuse a song if someone asks (and pays) for it. She is quite flirty and enjoys using her music to draw people in to her. She’s very adventurous and will not turn down a challenge if someone poses it to her but she will not do something potentially fatal to her for the sake of a stupid bet.

History

Reyna was born as the second child of two middle-class high elves in the kingdom of Quel’Thalas. Her father was an Arcanist and her mother stayed at home to take care of her and her brother, Armin. From a very young age, she would never be able to sit still and always toddled about and climbed things she thought were interesting. Her interest in exploring was present into her early teen where she’d wander about the city of Silvermoon and explore. She’d often spend hours hanging around the markets and plazas to hear musicians play their instrument and she fell in love with the sounds and lyrics of songs. It was around this time that she found she was not normal completely and that her feminine cycle was not correct. Her mother took her to a doctor about this and she was told that Reyna was infertile and would never be able to bear children. Reyna did not seem to be shaken much as the last thing on her mind at nineteen years old is having children but her mother wept.

Her father was already teaching her brother, who was older by twelve years, the ways of the arcane but he was eager for a second pupil so he was reluctant when she told him of her desire to learn to play an instrument but he gave in and got her singing and guitar lessons. Reyna practiced vigilantly and spent hours every day singing and playing to make herself better and soon she began to write her own music as well as what she learnt from other musicians about the city.

For decades until she was around fifty years old, she was left to her music for the most part but one day her father said it was time to give up the childish hobby and start to focus on her magical study so she could follow in his footsteps as her brother was. Reyna repeatedly told him she didn’t want to learn the arcane that she wanted to spend her life sharing her love of music with as many people as she could so, in a fit of rage, her father threw her out into the street and called her a ‘worthless tramp that would never bring him a legacy.’

Reyna spent the next few nights sleeping in an inn and busking to earn some money for herself, expecting her father to come in soon and apologise for his actions but he never came. After a week, she went back to her home to see what had happened and she found that her father still had not forgiven her but, with endless pleading from Reyna’s mother and brother; he accepted her back into his home but kept her at arms-length and on thin ice from that day forward.

Another two decades go by and the Third War starts, bringing the undead Scourge to Quel’Thalas and the destruction of the elven kingdom. During the fight inside Silvermoon city, her father and brother fought with their arcane to protect the family while Reyna and her mother hid. Despite their best efforts, they were drawn away and a pair of ghouls snuck up on the pair of women, ambushing them and killing Reyna’s mother. Before they could do the same to her, Reyna’s father returned and smote the two undead. He was distraught at the loss of his love and cursed his daughter, saying that if she had become a mage, she could have protected her mother and telling her that it should have been her who died.

Once the invasion was complete and the Scourge mostly left Quel’Thalas, her father banished her from his house for the final time in grief of his lost wife. Reyna took this hard coupled with the death of her mother so she fled the kingdom with nothing but the clothes on her back, her guitar and her beloved songbook. When the arcane addiction hit her, it was not as hard as a mage would have taken it but she knew she needed something to feed it so she took to absorbing a minor amount of Fel magic to tide her over. It turned her eyes green and marked her as a Blood Elf.

She travelled across the Eastern Kingdoms searching for inspiration for her music and earning a living by playing music in plazas and doing small performances for birthdays and pub nights. Some days, when business was slow and she could not afford an inn, she would sleep in trees, above the ground so wild animals could not get her. One day she fell down during her sleep and was surrounded by a group of Wretched, fearing that this would be the end of her. She accepted her fate when a lynx cat leapt from the bushes and tore the Wretched to pieces brutally. In a last bid for survival, one of the Wretched caught the wild cat in the flank with a deep slash wound. The lynx was badly injured and it was clear it was going to bleed to death so Reyna used some bandages she was carrying and stopped the bleeding. Knowing the alternative was death, the lynx made no protest to her help. Slowly, she helped him move to a town and a local priest healed the large cat using Divine magic. The two were now even, they had both saved each other's life and the lynx decided to stay with her out of gratitude. She tamed him Tameth, the guardian.

With her new companion and protector, she learnt slowly how to survive as he did, in the woods so she would be safer when she had to sleep out there and took quite a shine to camping and hunting, finding that she could handle a crossbow quite well and started developing her skills in the handling of one as well as striving to make herself an even better musician above her already impressive talent.

Reyna went on like this, singing and playing and hunting for years. The restoration of the Sunwell was a pleasant shine on her and encouraged her to forget her hatred for her father and to live the life she wanted. She now explores the worlds many cities, playing music far and wide for all to enjoy so that they can share in her happiness. Recently she has begun to show an interest in perhaps doing some exploring and adventuring so, instead of singing heroic songs about ancient warriors, she can sing them about herself.
