Other: While she has the tone and vocabulary of a Goblin (some would consider this a Goblin 'accent' though she can't really see that as justifiable) she's not nearly so abrasive in personality. If anything she is blunt.

Always wears a pendant around her neck, which likely has some meaning for her.

A scar cuts a thin line down the middle of her left eyebrow. Another can be seen on the left side of her neck, a bit more pronounced. Presumably there are others scattered over her frame.

Alignment: Lawful Good

Appearance

Due to her line of work, Rai favors the 'protective and mobile' route. Which as many could easily predict, tends to mean leather or very light plating. It also depends on her assignment. For typical mining expeditions, she's likely to just wear leather or even risk light cloth if it's likely to be hot.

If her assignment includes escorting the mined resources through might-be hazardous areas, she may don more armor-ish attire. When not working, she dresses as most Stormwind citizens would in leisure time. Favors simple dresses or otherwise comfortable and functional wear.

Personality: A straightforward sort, she manages an easy-to-know 'girl next door' quality so far as most humans are concerned. Sturdy, dependable, typically level headed. A quick smile, if not a very large one.

History

Despite being of a proper age to have been a child during the Third War and resulting rise of Arthas as the Lich King, her history has very little to do with those events. Raiya grew up a long way away from direct events with Alliance or Horde, or any of their individual or mutual opponents. Raiya is from Tanaris.

Being a 'raider' didn't mean precisely to her what it means to most. To her, it was just a way of life...and being a child, it wasn't so bad a way of life having it been all she knew. Never taking part in the raids herself (born of a raider and a captured woman who, as Raiya's memory serves, never minded being captured) as she was just a child, this meant her life consisted of long desert days and clear desert nights. There were other children, and aside from conflicts with local Trolls and the occasional half-hearted effort by the Goblins to rout them, things were peaceful.

Relatively peaceful. Peaceful if you were one of the children. In any case, this meant he events of the otherwise world were known...but felt very far away. Very far north, very far removed. For that matter, Raiya might have continued to live as such if unmolested. Things change, though.

It's something Raiya hardly even considers a stressful event in her life. Eighteen at the time, news of Arthas' transformation trickled down to the low places in the world where no one particularly cared. Of course they'd have cared if the Scourge came knocking but... who was going to come to Tanaris? None of them really cared. Raiya felt as though they should, on some level, but at that point was far more interested in her burgeoning talent as a mineral collector than in world affairs.

They had their own problems right at home---like the Goblins of Gadgetzan deciding finally to lay down a decisive hammer on raider activities. Likely anticipating with the rapid heating of world events that they'd not have time to watch their backs constantly. Her...group...family...whatever they may be referred to as was tracked and dealt with. Goblins, not being interested in blood so much as gold, only killed those who put up a largely unnecessary fight. Anyone else with a talent was made to work to pay off the long list of crimes---crimes they'd tracked astoundingly well.

Two years later, Raiya had bought her freedom through money garnered by her mining, augmented by providing escort for goods in the area amongst others. An ironic turnaround. Her parents, she's unsure of. Her father obviously had a far longer list of transgressions than she or other youth did, so he could presumably still be working it off somewhere. She lost track of her mother somewhere along the way.

Not considering herself an orphan (since it's more likely that not that they're around somewhere), or even particularly unfortunate, it was really just a matter of deciding what should be done. Her decision took her a long way from home---that decision was to continue her mining profession, and go somewhere that contracts for resources and safety-insurance had to be plentiful. Stormwind.

While Stormwind culture and Raiya don't entirely mesh (the people strike her as haughty, and a bit dense...a terribly combination), she's commented a few times that the weather isn't so bad. It takes growing up in a desert to smile as much as she does about a week of rain.
