Player: Reese

Character Full Name: Pyrrhus Novalight

Character In-Game Name: Pyrrhus

Nickname(s): Pyr

Association(s): Spell-Breakers, Argent Crusade, Argent Dawn, Novalights

Race: Blood Elf

Class: Spell-Breakers

Skills and Abilities: Being a Spell-Breaker, Pyrrhus is the anti-mage. He can drain mana and silence foes, as well as create barriers that resist/reflect magic. He is fairly proficient with the Spell-Breaker’s traditional glaive, as well as the shield he carries. However, he is by no means a master in close combat. He is most proficient against magic users, and anyone aside from that will clearly have the edge.

Age: 243

Sex: Male

Hair: Sleek and Black

Eyes: Green

Weight: 164 lbs

Height: 6’6’’

Usual Garments/Armor: He is more than usually clad in his Spell-Breaker attire, a purple and grey or gold and red set complete with the traditional eagle shoulder-pads and glaive. Over this armor, he prefers his Argent Dawn tabard to his Crusade tabard, as he was in the Dawn first and sees this as a triumph over a hastily joined Crusade. He may also be found in a white suit casually, or some other casual attire.

Other: He is normally seen chewing on a long toothpick with a lazy expression. This persists through all outfits.

Alignment: Neutral Good

Personality: The most overt characteristic noticed by Pyrrhus’s friends and family is that he’s incredibly disinterested. He frequently acts the lazy and nonchalantly cool guy, and will also frequently admit that this is intentional. He has grown accustomed to snide comments about how Blood Elves are womanly and weak, and this persona is an effort to try and make them appear more likeable and worthy of admiration. This is why he chews on a toothpick constantly, as he believes that makes him seem more laid back and suave.

As a Spell Breaker, one would think that he holds a severe distaste for mages, but this is not actually the case. He believes that magic wielded responsibly is to be commended, not mistrusted. Even Warlocks can garner some respect for him if they wield their twisted powers with responsibility, and thus he holds no grudge against them. He believes his job is not to restrict or regulate magic as a whole, merely to weed out its irresponsibility.

History: Pyrrhus Novalight was born the bastard son of Thalion Novalight and Inaria Bloodfeather. Inaria hadn’t told her lover that she was pregnant, due to what that would mean, and thus Thalion left ignorant and Inaria raised the boy on her own. A capable mage in her own right, she instructed many apprentices and thus earned enough money to support the child. Thus, Pyrrhus Bloodfeather (unknowing of his nobility) lived a passable childhood. He was not rich, nor was he poor, and he received an average education about magic and Silvermoon’s history in one of their schools. But what really drew him in were heroics.

As a child, he had always been exposed to Heroic Elven Tales of the Troll Wars and the like. He grew quite fond of these stories and frequently read all he could about them. Those he enjoyed most, however, were naturally the Spell-Breakers. He loved them, in great part due to their ability to fight magic in a predominantly magical society. He thus began to see them as the perfect warriors and sought to emulate them. Thus, he applied to be one at the earliest age possible and was, surprisingly, accepted. The training was arduous, but he nevertheless pulled through.

And then the Scourge attacked…

Pyrrhus was exposed to a new kind of magic; Necromancy. The Undead plague swept through Quel’thalas and lay waste to everything in its path. He fought where he could, but they were swiftly overwhelmed and severed from their source of magical power. Pyrrhus was left largely unaffected, but Inaria fell deathly ill from withdrawal. She was dying, and she wouldn’t turn to the more addictive replacements that were quickly becoming the norm. So she died, before doing so telling Pyrrhus of his heritage.

He was, shocked, to say the least, but eventually accepted the truth. He was nobility. But that didn’t mean that he could ignore what he felt to be his personal responsibilities. Instead of finding and confronting his father, he left Silvermoon City and joined the Argent Dawn, which in turn soon developed into the Argent Crusade. It was here that he A: Started trying to be cool, and B: Took up enchanting.

In the Crusade, Pyrrhus met many of the other races, all of which had a deep disrespect for Blood Elves. It was in a joking way most of the time, but Pyrrhus sensed the distaste behind the joking words about his womanliness. Without even thinking, he began to start acting laid back and ‘cool’, for lack of a better word. With thinking (do add to this persona), he began to chew on toothpicks. He would also, to help his comrades, end up taking up enchanting to aid in battles. He became an adept enchanter, by no means a master.

And when the War with the Lich King was over, he came home, seeing the main threat of undead vanquished and thus desiring to return to his people and aid on the home front.
