He can also be considered paranoid, always quick to see the darkness in the heart of man or elf and never put trust into the words except a select few.

History

Roan, Pelinal's grandfather fought valiantly in the War of Three Hammers against the heretic dark irons and was honoured for his heroic acts during the war, credited to alone having saved a contingent of wildhammer scouts. Ever since Roan has been celebrated, even after his death and is considered a paragon among his heirs.

Segir, Pelinal's father spent most of his life adventuring, traveling beyond the realm of dwarves. His life traveling changed when he was the only adventurer to return after stumbling upon a demonic artifact, events he never spoke of again.

That day Segir realized that some things in this world are not meant to be known, not even by the bravest or strongest. Since he took it upon himself to track down and purge the wicked. A mission inherited by Pelinal while raised to be a hero in the image of his grandfather, in a family deeply devout to the Holy Light for generations.

At a young age Pelinal was tutored under his father, prepared to stand face to face with heretic and abomination, stalwart in his faith and armed with blade and bullet. Soon enough he followed in his father's footsteps and became an explorer.

Pelinal returned to Dun Modr in the year leading up to the Second War, his birthplace and home of his family since the time of Roan. He returned to find his elderly father missing and was himself taken while looking for Segir. They were captured by the agents of Twilight's Hammer who hid in Dun Modr.

During three months Pelinal and Segir were subdued with dark magic, subjected to fiery torture and mutilated at the hands of otherworldly horrors. Under the influence of an eldritch force Pelinal gutted his father as part of an occult ritual. His captivity ended when the savage orcs attacked from the south and he fled across the Thandol Span.

In the Second War he fought with humans of Stromgarde and during the aftermath lent his help and knowledge to the Caretakers, retaking and protecting artifacts of the Arathor-empire. It's only after almost half a decade that Pelinal returned to dwarven lands to find familymembers who escaped the greenskins.

When the necropolis Naxxramas cast its shadow over the Eastern Kingdoms, Pelinal and has retinue was tasked with dispelling the obelisks summoned. Yet they where overwhelmed outside Corin's Crossing in the plaguelands, he returned with half his team though all but one perished from disease.

When the invasion towards the Icecrown Citadel began, the dwarf had not yet gathered new followers. Instead he traveled north alone, the mission was to track down infiltrating cultists and reveal their schemes. A quest that took him from the Stormbreaker at Valiance Keep to a group of paladins holding ground outside Wintergarde Keep.

Since the victory over the Lich King, Pelinal has been called back to the eastern continent, to continue purging Azeroth of the heretic and the abomination.
