Personality

Nivandra is a very nice Draenei, usually at least trying to be nice to pretty much everyone. However, she does mistrust humans (and, to a lesser extent, the other Alliance races) and, while she wouldn't outright attack, seems quite hostile to the Orcs and their allies.

History

Nivandra was born on one of the many worlds the Draenei fled to when the Burning Legion came after them and, safe for the obvious threat looming over them, had a pretty normal life for a young Draenei.

Nivandra's parents lost their lives quite early in her life when the Burning Legion had once again attacked her people and, though she mourned heavily for their loss, she still found comfort in the Light, almost going down the path to becoming a priestess. Soon after the death of her family, she was taken in by another family and, even though they were still heavily religious like most other Draenei, they influenced the young Nivandra enough to choose a more combat-centric calling and, soon after, started her training in combat.

Some long, unspecified time after that, the Draenei seemed to have finally found a peaceful world as they landed on Draenor. Nivandra, now quite the accomplished warrior, was one of the first to leave Oshu'gun and make contact with the Orcs who seemed like a peaceful people and, though contact between the two races didn't happen all that often, they still managed peace, on occasion even exchanging teachings, which is where Nivandra first learned of the Spirits.

Not long after this, though. Only about 75 years later, the Burning Legion had once again managed to find the Draenei on this new world and, as opposed to attacking them directly, chose to contact the Orcish race and, thanks to corruption within, managed to corrupt the entire race to do the Legion's bidding.

Without warning, the once peaceful Orcs turned on the Draenei! Nivandra and her people fought valiantly and, though strong, the Orcs had soon managed to wipe out most of the Draenei people. The foul Orcs had even managed to destroy Shattrath which triggered a change in some of the Draenei. Some of her people started changing, mutating, their belief in the Light fading which set them on the path to Shamanism.

During the ongoing war, Nivandra had lost many; friends, family. Yet, as she fought, her belief in the Holy Light strengthened her. She survived the fight and, as they found refuge in Zangarmarsh, chose to join the army that protected her people from the Orcish betrayers. During the very occasional peaceful times in Zangarmarsh, she started learning from some of these "broken" Draenei. Learning the ways of the Shaman herself and, though her belief in the Light never faded, became quite the accomplished Shaman over the years.

The years following weren't simple ones, always on the lookout for the enemy. The Draenei race was struggling to survive in this new land but, even though the future seemed quite grim, the future suddenly seemed at least a little brighter as the Draenei people found information of Tempest Keep which had appeared in what was now the Outlands and, after some discussion, came to the conclusion that assaulting this place was the best option they had.

With the other soldiers, Nivandra fought valiantly in the assault on the keep, using her newly-found spiritual powers to her advantage. Managing to fight their way to the Exodar, an interdimensional ship, they hurried their civilians and leaders onto the ship and managed to leave with it.

However, what the Draenei didn't know was that some Blood Elves had stowed away on the ship and, as it had left, the Elves sabotaged the ship's engines, causing it to crash on Azeroth. The crash killed and injured many, scattering hundreds or more of their people all across 2 small islands.

Nivandra had survived this final ordeal, like so many others. Injured and lost in the wilderness, the Draenei managed to haul herself to a nearby crash site where more of her people had managed to drag themselves to.

There, the woman was healed and, after a few days of resting and against the wishes of the priests there, she got back on her hooves, ready once more to protect her people from whatever came their way.
