Personality

Morgan is as gentle in manner and character as her mellow countenance would lead one to believe. When she began her medical training, she took the Hippocratic Oath, primum non nocere. Nonmaleficence: Do no harm. It became something of a fourth tenet and all-encompassing law to her, during her concurrent education in the application of the Holy Light.

A fervent lover of learning and knowledge, Morgan enjoys nothing more than an enthralling piece of non-fiction. It's a long-standing joke that she could probably erect a rather sturdy house with all the dense medical journals she's collected over the years, let alone the librams and other arcane tomes stashed in her cluttered library.

History

Born in the 2nd year of the recorded calendar, Morgan was sired by a gentleman belonging to the Blackstone family: Enterprising and talented merchants in the mining business. From early on in her life, Morgan was subject to the many rules which structured the family, quickly learning to follow and obey them. Her mother was a gratefully lenient woman, but still encouraged the same strict sense of order and obedience customary to the Blackstones. A quiet child, Morgan grew adept at listening. On the odd occasion when she would speak up, she could often surprise her elders with an understanding of topics thought beyond her years (and probably her gender). She learned, in this way, about the current state of affairs in Azeroth. The savage green-skinned invaders which had laid waste to a great southern kingdom, and their subsequent subdual floated to her young ears. Morgan was privy to murmurs of uprisings here and there, scandals amongst the upper nobility, and other such dinnertime discussions.

A lady of faith, Morgan's mother made certain that she was raised in the Light's grace, and was probably unaware of the irony given the Blackstone males' hushed proclivity towards the occult. From when she able to, Morgan often assisted the abbey's priests, and was taken on as an acolyte when she came of age. Receiving a formal education, Morgan excelled in the more academic subjects within the curriculum. She showed an interest in the sciences, and pursued the path of medicine, beginning her training alongside her apprenticeship. Both fields called for different approaches, and were rather demanding on the young woman, but she delighted in proving herself capable and competent, if not talented. During her tenure amongst the abbey's priests, she was called to the side when it became known she was also undergoing training as a doctor. An aged deacon explained to her ways to bolster patients' bodies and numb their minds of pain with only faith and good will, but expressed that she shouldn't discuss her techniques with those patients.

Morgan's broad interests stretched her thin at times, but she was never what one would consider a fiercely ambitious woman. They lent her a great many valuable experiences, both with practices and people. The Third War would disrupt her path, dividing the family and what remained of its fortune. Her mother fled south, and took her far from the ravages of war, insisting that Morgan's talents would be better served on the home front, tending to the sick and injured. Morgan was more than happy to comply, never having been fond of war's brutality. Time and experience, and the completion of her medical training allowed her to be recognised as a licensed doctor, and she continued to practice throughout the war and its aftermath.

Though never formally administered the title of priest, Morgan's studies in that field were far from halted. She delved deeper into the mental aspect, confident that she was applying her knowledge for a good cause. She helped any who came to her, regardless of creed, colour or caste. Despite later affiliations with a darker organisation, falling in through the trappings of love, Morgan was ever vigilant and dedicated to upholding her vow to those in her care - do no harm.
