Men'Kaar often goes about daily life in what ever suits his environment but he is commonly seen wearing vestments of the Light. When ready for battle he often prefers to wield a polearm, particularly his crystal Hammer of the Naaru or a greatsword while dressing himself in the best plate he can obtain. At other times he may use a stout shield and a good mace or sword to defend himself or others, preferring his crystal hammer. At all times he carries a thick libram at his side, bound in a bright gold metal while suspended from a thick chain of the same material (lightforge iron). He wears a holy symbol on his neck carved from a crystal native to Argus, symbols and glyphs associated with the Light/Naaru cover its surface.

Other: Sacred markings cover his form in places, holy names, scriptures, and symbols believed to help him channel the light and protect him from corruption by the foul energies of the Burning Legion and its servants.

Personality

Alignment: Lawful Good

Stoic but compasionate, and empathetic. He is very spiritual, seeking wisdom and enlightenment but realizing that no one is perfect and attempts to temper himself and remain humble. Despite the terrible betrayl of the Orcs, Men'Kaar labors not to hate them. He realizes that they were manipulated and made victims much as his own people were, they simply lacked the divine gift of their own Prophet to save them (or did they?).

He beleves in the teachings of the Naaru, and the ancient belief that you and others will ultimately receive a reflection of what you send out into the universe and therefore allowing hate to consume him will do no good. Following the Naaru's example, Men'Kaar forgives the orcs, it is a hard thing to do and he struggles with it often. He notes that the Naaru have not condemned the Horde races and so he believes they may find redemption in the Light one day, perhaps even the Blood Elves as the Eternal Prophet suggests and the Naaru seem to confirm.

If approached with agression or ill-intent, Men'Kaar will defend himself or others or attack if they do something to provoke his action as anyone else might. He simply does not let the past set him to immediate agression. It is possible that he would aid or defend an innocent orc if he found one in such a situation. Men'Kaar has no children and has no inclination to have any of his own in the future. He helps raise the collective children of successive generations and instills in them the discipline they will need to survive in the harsh worlds they tread in when his time allows for it.

History

Born long ago on the Planet of Argus, Men'Kaar grew up among his people in the great sea of knowledge and culture that was his heritage. He knew from early on that he was meant to serve the Light and when he came of age he submitted himself to the teachings of the Temple. Having a keen mind and remarkable physicality he entered the order of holy Paladins and served as a protector to the priesthood and the devout upon the temple grounds.

He always held a certain reverance for the Ata'mal crystal, though he was permitted to see it only rarely as he saw the Elders enter its presence, being a guardian of the temple grounds afforded him this rare glance at the sacred and hidden relic. He felt a great sense of purpose when the wise Velen took it with them and made use of its power to save them all. He protected the clergy and the crystal with many other brave paladins until they reached the mountain top and the salvation it offered. He decided he would always seek to defend his people against threats from all sources, even other fallen brothers and sisters.

This he continued to do for centuries as events unfolded and atrocity, tragedy and untold suffering followed his people from planet to planet. Upon landing on a lush world they would come to call "Draenor" he allowed himself to relax thinking their new found contacts, the orcs of Nagrand would help them should the Legion find them yet again...

A terrible mistake he would soon discover. He tried valliantly to save lives but the orcs were simply too much. He was captured briefly while away from the temple of Karabor on diplimatic relations in Shadowmoon Valley before he managed to escape to the capital of Shattrath. To his horror he found the place was being sieged and he nearly dispaired before he caught sight of his people still fighting within.

With renewed purpose he joined the battle and by chance or fate he found the group moving with the Prophet Velen and he remained with them until they crashed upon Azeroth. After spending time working to heal the injured and help reorganize their people Men'Kaar set out to meet the natives. The prophet had told his people that there were others already there to forge relations with, new allies to make a stand against the Legion at last. They soon discovered that the Orcs, their misguided friends turned bloodythirsty murderers had invaded this world not long ago and set off a chain of events that would forever change the world.

Fate it would seem had a hand in this. They were introduced to a new threat spawned from the Legion but broken free with its own agenda, the Scourge. Men'Kaar and several other Draenei set out to combat these foes and win the hearts of the people of this war stricken world for the prophet had said that only together do they have a chance to defeat the Burning Legion once and for all. Men'Kaar set out to learn the ways of Humanity, hearing they, the High Elves, and the Dwarves had their own interpretation of the Light which he fully intended to study.

After many adventures both in Azeroth and in the shattered world now called "Outland", Men'Kaar returned to Stormwind to learn that the Scourge became bold and started aggressively moving from the frozen Northrend to spread its icy grip upon the world. He joined the fight against the Lich King and performed remakably well in the Icecrown conflict (he survived unscathed).

He returned to the Exodar for some time, going back to Shattrath to help rebuild and defend occasionally. He still wanders Azeroth and on occasion Outland as it suits him, looking to lend the help of the Holy Light to those in need and to chastise the wicked in equal measure.

Skills and Abilities

Typical abilities associated with paladins, highly gifted with wielding the Light.

Extensive training in both two-handed and weapon and shield techniques. Can wear the heaviest plate with seemingly little fatigue over a long duration.

Graced with natural wisdom and a sixth sense toward wickedness, sensing the auras put off by fel creatures and undeath and other insights (at GM/player's suggestion).

He is gifted at blessing and imbuing objects places and people, performing the art of enchanting with great skill. His secondary pursuit of Inscription proves to be a rewarding and useful art as well.

He is skilled at meditation and often enters prayer in this fashion, asking the Naaru for guidance.
