Personality

Markuss' personality varies greatly while around family. Sometimes stern, sometimes happy, but almost always protective. Sometimes overly so. When confronted with humans of other kingdoms, he will look at the worst; targeting accents, particularly, and showing simple mistrust. The same generally goes for most Horde races;Trolls, Orcs, Tauren, Forsaken, and Blood elves. He dislikes them all to the point of sometimes threatening them with weapons.

History

Markuss was born on the Appleflow plantation in Westfall; close to Moonbrook. The plantation thrived for much of Markuss' childhood. Markuss would do chores with his siblings; everything that was needed to keep a farm running. He was a middle child in a large family, and with everyone vying for the attention of his parents and grandparents, it was a struggle for attention. Even though his parents seemed to be so distant from him, they made sure to give each sibling a hug each day. With such little attention being given, he and his siblings often had to rely on themselves to stave off the evils of boredom. They played pranks, they argued, and looked out for each other.

During Markuss' teenage years, he had learned to shoot simple flintlock weapons at the insistence of his parents. With his other siblings, he often went hunting with his parents. They brought home boar as often as they could. Of course, there was much more to life than hunting and arguing with his siblings; like pulling pranks on the girls from neighboring farms. Markuss gathered boys from nearby farms, and did such things as throwing raccoons into bedrooms. Markuss and his friends got away most every time. In his teenager years, Markuss and most of the other boys still did such things. He even dubbed a title for himself. "Grand prankster poobah."

Markuss kept up his jokes until a teenage girl by the name of Eliza confronted him after church. Needless to say, Markuss wanted to knock her down a few pegs. But before he could say a word, she began her barrage of complaints against him and what he did. He was stunned. Nobody had ever really talked to him about such things, let alone seen the faces of him and his obnoxious friends. Markuss said the most charismatic thing he could think of; "You've got honest eyes, like a cow." The girl left in a huff before he could say anything else. But he was determined to get her attention. Fora period of three days he assaulted Eliza with wildflowers and love letters. He felt an odd attraction to the girl, and met her after the three days were over, Markuss saw his chance. He asked her on a 'date.' 'Date,' meaning shooting some squirrels from a tree and bragging about his squirrel jerky. Markuss kept meeting Eliza, and they married two months before the first war.

For awhile the two lived on the Appleflow plantation. Markuss was busy looking for suitable land; ushing aside rumors of demonic forces coming for the kingdom of Stormwind. When Westfall fell, Markuss found that a good portion of both his family and friends were slaughtered. Although his mother protested leaving the plantation, and said that she'd "Kill all of them savages." She reluctantly went along with Markuss' father, and made their way to Lordaeron with many other refugees. Markuss and his father signed up to fight, and, in an accident while fooling around in training, Markuss poked his eye out with a sword. Though he would always tell people the "Meanest Orc you ever did see," did it to him. He began collecting Orc tusks as signs of victory at the end of the first war. After the first war, Markuss took to chewing tobacco.

For most of the first war, Markuss fought against Orgrim Doomhammer's forces, and survived. He'd occasionally go home to see how Eliza and their first child was doing. These visits would be brief however, and Markuss would go back to the front in no time at all. With the first war's eventual end, Markuss returned to Eliza. Of course, the brief visits that Markuss gave her resulted in more children being born. Markuss was happy around all the children they had, and thought that they'd move back to Westfall in no time at all. He was sure that the Horde would have all of it's territories given back. So, when the second war happened, he was once again eager to fight. Markuss' father wasn't so lucky. He found that his father had died near the end of the war. Markuss waited until the war was over to bring his father's corpse back to the ruins of the plantation for burial.

Reconstruction of the plantation began soon after, and Markuss' father was buried near the remaining orchards. Markuss and his family enjoyed peace for awhile, until the defias began to show up asking for protection money and food. Markuss at first gave them what they wanted out of fear, but as his children were getting older, able to fight, he began attacking members of the defias when it was possible for him. He even began teaching his children how to use weapons in his spare time. With rumors of the Gilnean wall spreading, Markuss began considering those from other kingdoms cowards, with rare exceptions.
